Have an Accord here with valve damage on cy 1, head off too, 1.8 vtec engine fitted. Engine was revving to 11, guy missed a gearchange, put it into 3 instead of 5, something shat itself slightly (belt not chain on the older version) in the timing & bang... Loads of fun..

Sounds like it's the owners fault, kept driving with a radiator leak overheating the engine and warping the cylinder head. The 1.8 Turbo is the one known for head gasket failure and fuel in oil dilution problems.

great video Baz never understood why engine manufacturers just give us torque settings for head bolts
It gives a more accurate tightening compared to normal torque setting.
It adjusts automatically depending on temp.
It's a faf to do it but it works.

Great job but personally I would of put new chain kit just for a peace of mind
meanwhile my d16 head gasket blew after a radiator fan switch failed lol
