- Just coming into Squamish, this loud northbound, led by one of BC Rail's many signature Dash8-40CM's, makes its presence known as it sweeps past the brush beside the Mamquam channel bridge on its way to the yard. Filmed b/w 2002-04. Double Ditch Light Productions.

Imagine if the Razor Trains were actually BCR dash 8s?
Considering Valve's HQ is located in Seattle which is not far from BC, it's more than likely that BC Rail was the origin of the sound.

Floridian Rail & Auto that would be quite the plot twist, they’re just heavily armored BCR dash 8s, and the acoustics of the armor is why the horn is distorted.

I used to walk over that very train bridge on my way to Stawamus Elementary for grade 7. My mother was unaware of my route over the bridge and through the sawmill yard...for a 12 year old girl walking alone that was fairly brazen. However, it did take 15 minutes off my travel time and it was thrilling planning on hiding behind the girders in case a train did approach and I had no escape. Exciting times!! Lol!! :)
pretty much all BCR unit had a K5H or a K5L horn , there slowley going away now.
For anyone wondering, a lot of BCR locos were bought by Montana Rail Link.

cn had sd40f's and sd60f's from EMD,and bcrail got the 840cm's from GE,when both companies were still independent the 4 window wide cab design was a canadian signature for a long time,starting with the EMD GP40WL,and the MLW M series
Whoa. Trains are fuckin trippy when you think about them. Such primal technologies in some ways, yet one of the biggest well known technologies on our planet. Also FEARSOME.

Extra lighting. There's huge gaps of forest and mountain between stations, and lots of wildlife. Its just a precaution.
