- House of the Dragon Season 2 has finally arrived, and with it comes one of the most notorious moments in the history of Westeros.
HotD spoilers follow beyond this point!
In Season 2, Episode 1, "A Son for a Son," Matt Smith’s Daemon hatches the plot that leads to what has been described as the “Red Wedding” of House of the Dragon. After Rhaenyra's son Luke is killed in the Season 1 finale in a dragon chase with Alicent’s boy Aemond, Daemon seeks revenge. And this is what leads to the awful event known by fans of the George R.R. Martin book series as Blood and Cheese.
With Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) in mourning, he hires a brutal member of the City Watch - that would be Blood - and a ratcatcher - that would be Cheese - to infiltrate the Red Keep. His orders, in the TV version anyway, are to kill Aemond (Ewan Mitchell). But when asked by Cheese what they should do if they can’t find Aemond, Daemon simply stares back at the killer… and the camera cuts to the next scene.
Indeed, what follows is not the murder of Aemond, but of the child Prince Jaehaerys, the son of Aemond’s brother King Aegon II. We spoke to Smith, D'Arcy, Olivia Cooke (Alicent), and other major members of Team Black and Team Green about this startling and brutal development in the House of the Dragon S2 premiere! - Zábava
Does anyone notice when Helaena runs with her daughter in the Red Keep, how empty of guards the place where the royal family sleeps is?
Cole is the worst kingsguard Lord Commander ever.
at least in the book, Blood and Cheese had to kill some guards to get into the queen's rooms.
How was Ser Criston supposed to guess that your psychopath, Daemon had hired two assassins to decapitate a toddler?
Just hearing the sounds knowing what they were doing was brutal.
russians are doing this to our people for real while filming that and then putting it on the internet...
Phia Saban is seriously underestimating her own ability. She told a story of a thousand words with just her eyes during that scene. Phenomenal talent.
2:37 a bit of rhaenyra came out there 😂
"Excuuuuuse me" 😂 I love how the actors, especially on Team Black are fiercely loyal when outside of the show
Describing B&C as the "Red Wedding of HotD" is so inaccurate. They're not even comparable.
Honestly, the dog scene right before hit me harder
@@danilolaurito9923Why was the dog even there?😟
To be fair, they said that about the book scene, not the show scene
It's still not that comparable, but its closer
For me, B&C scene was more horrible and shocking than the red wedding in GOT. Definitely
Shut up Nancy
Y'all will call anything "The Red Wedding" and "Battle of the Bastards" 🙄
Red wedding is applicable. It's a huge pivotal inciting incident
Right
So what? Calm down it's just a damn TV show
@@jayschmidt2196yeah, but there's no wedding here
@@artorhen at both the red wedding and the purple wedding the wedding is literally the least important part. The important part is the character deaths and how that's going to effect the story and other characters. It's an inciting event.
How Cole is not responsible for the death is baffling. Aegon shouldve had his head on a pike
The book version was much gruesome and was dismayed when they toned it down. But Phias acting was brilliant. Wished they followed through with her screaming in agony.
You have to keep in mind that what they're showing in the series is actually what happened in the reality of the GoT world. What the books describe is biased as it was narrated by characters who were in favor of the Greens and hated Rhaenyra for thinking she, a woman, could ever be Queen and rule over a male-dominated society.
Matt Smith talking about spoilers and saying "alien" makes me think of the other show where he married someone he (probably?) held as a baby.
Spoilers 😉
Womb
@@emjbelle he was the baby in that one
Everyone loves Phia. She's so sweet.
How did they film this interview without leaks
Now Helaena’s daughter will become “the Queen Who Never Was”. It’s a repeat cycle.
It was the boy, the daughter still lives its just for some reason they didnt include the other son from the books in the show
Every Sunday at 9pm LETS GO
Larys is truly dumb cause he could’ve been on the blacks side and helped his literal nephews and then his blood would’ve been on the throne. Daemon and rhaenyra would def let him look at their feet.. they’re weird like that lol
U think he cares about that? He plotted the murder of his brother and father
what makes you possibly think that the guy who killed his father and brother gives af about his blood lol
Ya he doesn’t care about family. He’s a spider who loves being in the middle of everything controlling it behind the scenes
Yeah he coulda had 4 feet to look at instead of 2, he's so dumb smh
No, they're not and they wouldn't... Why would you even say that.
It was definitely a great "Blood will have blood," episode!
My favorite part was when Daemon walked into castle black and said “it’s morbin time” truly a classic
Nah, the Red Wedding of HOTD is the Storming of the Dragonpit.
Don’t spoil things amigo
Will we get that this season, ya think?
@@SemperSalamnah not this season
The hour of the 🐺
@@SemperSalam no...I dont think we even get that in the next season, this happens definetly last season
1:58 Jacaerys chill....
Thanks cast for confirming Daemon was not at fault for B&C stupidity.
Spoiler alert! Well, the killing of Aegon II's sons did indeed happened in the books. It's what drove queen Helaena mentally ill, iirc.
Yeah that ending last night had my husband turning his head like WTF 😮 but so glad to see Damien get much more starlight he’s are favorite in it❤ he kills the roll
Who are these people? The hair, makeup and costume work is just top notch
Matt reminds me of Crispin Glover
well, nothing to smile now Aemond
Olivia Cooke is gorgeous
So glad she gets such a complex character to show off her talents.
@@drewmcgill5290 Alicent isnt complaex, she is just a typical hypocrite :D
@@HK-gm8pe she’s absolutely complex. She doesn’t want any of this but has to respond because of their position. It’s obviously tearing her up with every action they have to take against team black.
@@drewmcgill5290 She did everything she could to start this war
They messed up the blood and cheese scene. It was supposed to be traumatizing and horrifying.
It is horrifying and traumatizing, what like do you want to see a beheaded little boy?
they BEHEAD A CHILD its still horrifying lol
@shahdrabaa6804 They chickened out. That scene was much more brutal and traumatizing in the books. In the books there was a “choice”
@Bread-nx9fo Naah. They chickened out. That scene was much more brutal and traumatizing in the books. In the books, there was a “choice”
@@shahdrabaa6804they literally show a dog getting kick which is like 1000 times worse according to most people. They should be able to get away with it.
its not really a twist though
It was a warning for what the season will become
The way that guy was rubbing his nose......
MILO
Aemond’s actor is in a constant state of mewing lmao
Grow up.
@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 not really sure why you’re offended
Luke was an accident, the hitmen just bungled the mission. They sound have escaped or looked more
luke was not an accident
@@lauren5947in the show yeah it was an accident. In the books not so.
10 hours of what?
Filming.
@@StaminaMC one scene
Such a waste of a great book moment.
How? It was quite surprising
@@fightwithonefilms because it was more grusum and meaningful in the books. They ruined it
@@senister14is it also a waste when they didn't show the characters having diarrhea like they did in the books?
@@jmz2144 only if it was a pivotal moment in the books, like tywin death.
Book was way better, I’m not sure why they dumbed this down, HBO bad move, just follow the damn book
Is every actor British now? 😂 seems like everyone has a British accent
hotd and got were primarily british shows lol
Congratulations, yes indeed, they are British. As opposed to what?
Death to the greens. And daemon did tell them to get aemond but they asked what if they couldn’t find him and they just zoomed in on daemons face with an evil look so they implied he DID tell them to take whoever they could get.
The actors literally just confirmed that was all B&C and not Daemon wt are you talking about.
Daemon is a toddler decapitator. He is pure evil and the worst character in the show. Team Green FTW! 💚
