Psalm 68 Explained

When King Jesus rules over the earth, he will deal with the Antichrist as "As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God." (Psalm 68:2-3) But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God. He will be a father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. God setteth the solitary in families (Psalm 68: 5-6 KJV)
David remembers that God had sent rain to them: Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary. (Psalm 68:9 KJV)
The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it. (Psalm 68:11) Kings of armies that came against them ended up fleeing against them: "Kings of armies did flee apace: and she that tarried at home divided the spoil." (Psalm 68:12) Israel's victory is going to be complete and they will enjoy peace and safety from their enemies.
David turns his prophetic eye to the future in v 15: "The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; an high hill as the hill of Bashan. Why leap ye, ye high hills? this is the hill which God desireth to dwell in; yea, the Lord will dwell in it for ever." (Psalm 68:15-16 KJV)
Why did God choose Mount Moriah? God did it because He is faithful, and He always keeps his promises. After the conquest of the land, God chose for His abode not the stately mountains of Bashan, whose natural preeminence might seem to mark them out for that privilege, but the insignificant hill of Mount Moriah which eventually become the hill of Zion.
