Hi which one better vital100s or xiaomi purifier for house with pets
Should I get the 100s or the 300s I can't decide I have pets and my asthma from when I was a kid has come back and I haven't been able to breath out my nose through the night in years, my apt is 1100 Sq feet do the 100s makes more sense but it will mostly be in my room then move it to the living room during the day etc
Do the filters needs to be completely replaced? Or can they be cleaned/washed and reused?

Hey thanks for your review, it helped me a lot. So if I got this right the vital 100s is basically the same then the core 300s but better vor pet hair and has the washable filter? We are thinking about getting one for our bedroom.

Hi! Yes similar performance as the core 300s. If you use the pet filter on the core 300s it makes it better for pet dander but not hair. The vital 100s has the washable, removable filter and the new design means it traps pet hair better. It's better for pet hair.

Appreciate the review. Quick question, why is it that Amazon says both can be used for rooms up to 1000sqft but this review says 200/300 sqft?
Hi! It's because air purifier brands starting changing how they calculate how quickly they can purifier the air. It used to be based on 5 changes per hour or every 12 mins and I feel that is the best rate to base how effective the air purifier will be for a specific room size. Now so many "new" brands kept advertising huge coverage areas like 500 Sq ft or 1000 Sq ft but failed to mention that those figures correspond to refresh rates every 30 mins or 1 hour. As a result, the established brands like levoit, honeywell and others have had to advertise outlandish coverage areas to compete. A air purifier that can refresh the air in a 1000 Sq ft room every hour is misleading because air is constantly being refreshed and would not be able to purifier the air fast enough to dramatically improve the air quality in that room. It could theoretically work in a vacuum with no walls and the air purifier being placed in the center of the room but would still take a very very long time to purify a 1000 Sq ft. Hope that helps.

@@thomaspaul3187 I went ahead and purchased vital 200s since it clearly says carbon pellets on Amazon Canada but with steep price difference of close to 100$
Would this be best elevated or on the floor? I have a bunch of pet hair that gets on my nightstand and mini fridge, so if I had it on top where it all ends up (ideally going in the filter instead) or on the floor and capturing the airborne pet hair BEFORE it reaches that area?

Hi! You can put it on either but in your case, I would place it on the floor near where your desk or bed. The Vital 100s works best about 8ft from the air purifier so try it keep it nearby for best performance. I have year round allergies and I keep my air purifiers next to my bed or desk.
So it will capture more pet hair and dander on the floor than elevated?
Would this be suitable for a large rec room of 500 square feet?
Hi! This would be too small. Best to go for the larger Levoit 200S and keep it in the area where you and others normally hang around.
How long does the filter can roughly last if I put this in the bedroom?
If the room is normally dusty or lots of pets and you run it 24/7 it will be closer to 6 months. Otherwise I change mine every 9 months.
Can it still be effective and safe if I placed my 200s horizontally like at 2:42?
Hi! No I would recommend it as the 200s airflow is designed to be upright.

Hi! VITAL S should be around $100 vs the core 300 around $84-$89 for black Friday. For table top or nightstand, I would recommend core 300. For floor or office, the vital s.

In the amazon link you provided it says for large rooms upto 1100 sq ft. You mention much smaller room size in your video. Kindly shed some light on that. Thanks
Hi, in the Amazon link, Levoit put the coverage area per hour because many of the competitors started to make big claims about the coverage areas. However, in real world use, you are really looking for the coverage area in 12 mins or 5 times per hour and sometimes CADR scores.

Hi! Normally it means it's time to change the filter. If your filter still has some life or you changed it already, you can hold the change filter button on the vital 100s for 3-5 seconds and it should reset the light.
