I do my tree and home in a very traditional design.I have so very old decorations and ornaments,that belong to my mother and grandmother. could not imagine Christmas with out them.
Same here I have some of my mother's, and homemade one's from my children and grandchildren. Last Christmas I told them all I want homemade ornaments from each one of them for my gift , they all have great imaginations and I just loved them.

I love Victorian decorations and I have an 8 ft. very full tree that I decorate in burgundy and gold brocade ribbon with a matching tree skirt the ornaments are are variety of velvet, mirror, fans, small miniature framed portraits, delicate rose balls, miniature bird nest and white miniature bird cages, lace angel and misc. Victorian era decorations - I have been doing this over 20 years and it has become a family tradition 🎄🎄🎄✨✨✨☃️☃️❄️❄️

I decorate my home in a vintage Christmas style so that my children can enjoy the kind of Christmas I grew up with. They really love all the old wooden ornaments and tree candles I use to decorate.

Brandy, you just melt the very tips of cut ribbon with a lighter or candle lighter and it seals the ends and they don't fray

I have about 9 trees so a theme for every room and mostly towards rustic side except for the silver and gold tree. That is my friendship tree♥️♥️♥️ it reminded me of the song we sang in Brownie’s/ Girl Scouts “Silver and Gold meet the new but keep the old” I can’t think of exact words lol right this second but love the meaning around Holidays ♥️♥️♥️

The truck is so pretty these diys remind of the decorations when I was young because I'm quite vintage myself. I've used hair spray on glitter to keep it from falling and Epson salts make fine snow 💜
Perfect ideas Joan!and cheap hairspray is more affordable than a sealer.
We read left to right so the bow on the left creates interest and your eye naturally moves to the right to take in the whole design.

When using ribbon that frays you can use a lighter / lightly on the ends . I do that trick when making hair bows.

Last year I did Gingerbread and this year my living room will be red truck and maybe gingerbread in kitchen, if not the red truck in there too. I change up from year to year. For years it was always the same and then years was Santa 🎅🏻. For a few years my tree was decorated in turquoise. I use a clothes hanger hooked to my over sink cabinet handle! Just use your hanger to attach your swag to the hanger. I really use this toward the end of my project to see how it will look hung!

We started using sort of a winter wonderland theme last year..🎅🤶🤍🦌☃️❄️🎄🧸 snowflakes..deer.. ivory, brown, & green balls..wood things..pine cones. Then we used brown paper bags & boxes with white & ivory bows. Oh! And burlap stockings! I LOVED it so much I think I'll never get tired of this one! So I'm so happy to have found you. Love these DIYs. I decorate my tree for my grandkids, so non-breakable ornaments, very few balls - mainly other types of ornaments. I got some beautiful silver and white beaded garland from Hobby Lobby this year, instead of ribbon that I usually use (I change garland/ribbon every year for something new). My office tree will be gold and pink sparkly balls, pink beaded garland, and a gold star. I do something for “me” in my office.

I do do the dollar store thing outside on my porch and fence using those flower picks, big bows and make evergreen garland swags. This year Im doing a gnome village by my front door.
