Jean-François Daber is the leading company for the production of top-of-the-range French bows. The company was founded by Jean Schmitt in 1981. It is now headed by Vincent Tricou and Gilles Saurais. Vincent and Gilles aim to help the world's finest performers - violinists, violists and cellists - to express their deepest artistic feelings and also to get the best out of their instruments. We make bows for all levels of musical performance. Our four categories accompany and stimulate the progress of musicians from the earliest stages until the acquirement of complete mastery of the instrument at solist level. Our bows combine efficiency and elegance. They are balanced in such a way as to enable artists to transmit faithfully their musical message and to meet their technical needs right down to the tightest sautillé bowing. We sell our bows through a network of fine shops and high level professionals who are able to handle the bows for maintenance.

It is very nice of you to share your skills and knowledge to others in different countries. I wish you great success. We enjoyed watching this video. It brings us great joy watching masters create this wonderful masterpiece. Hopefully one day we can have our own violin with great sound accompanied with your bows. Take care. I wish you all good health.

The question that arrises immediately to me: how do you keep the wood pernambuko stock safe from pests attacking wood? I mean, if you really keep 15 years old wood on shelves, how to protect them? If spraying wood with chemicals - that could effect wood and intended later for humans to hold it in hand.
Some chemicals I have used to protect roof wood are life dangerous, I used expensive mask for protection.

They say that they inspect each planks of pernambuko they receive, my guess it that if there are some pests attacking wood they will see it and remove every planks with traces of pest. But that shouldn't happened though, since the supplier should have done that beforehand and delivered them a healthy batch. Finally if the plancks are stored properly in good conditions it should limit the development of pest as well.

How wasteful. If the planks are cut in L shape the other L can be inverted to make another bow instead of a scrap wood.
