I loved Debenhams and HofF when I lived in Guildford. You are right that drugstore makeup and skincare also have gone up crazily - I used to be drugstore fun, now I'm buying branded makeup in the sale, especially that I don't need much.

It's the same here in Australia Shaz with drugstore cosmetic prices.....INSANE. Some of the l'oreal, Max Factor foundations are $40 here!

I know what you mean about drugstore prices! 😱 They really aren't that much cheaper than top branded items now. I was in Guildford at the weekend and was gutted to see House of Fraser gone. I feel like there is a need now for big stores just for makeup counters. Big Boots stores have the biggest counter ratio but I still find they don't stock the brands I would like to see and try out. It's such a minefield choosing makeup online, especially foundation from a brand you have never tried before. It's a tricky and often costly business! I LOVE watching 'Christmas With The Kranks' every Christmas. It just makes me laugh. Every Christmas Eve we watch 'Chocolat'. It's not a Christmas film but it feels Christmassy, and you eat a lot of chocolate at Christmas right?! 😂😂😂
It's that personable experience you get with a counter. Exactly not everyone is makeup savvy and knows just the right shade to pick that's why we had consultants to help. Sad times, I loved mooching around House of Fraser. Love 'Christmas With The Kranks' when he goes for a sunbed and botox 😆😆😆 Love Chocolat that is a beautiful film. xxx

Girl today I went t nuts and did a dark blue on lid with brown on crease OMGGGG!! Came out gorgeous. Unfortunately I do t ever leave on the makeup 😂😂😂 I take it right off!! But it was gorgeous!!

Yeh me too! I forgot there was a Costa just as you came in! I used to get my brows done at the Benefit counter in there! I've heard that they might be opening a Fenwick where House of Fraser use to be! xx

Love the sweater, Shaz! so festival... I like the idea of doing your makeup every day for the season. I also just do it at times when im a little depressed. We got some snow here but love Christmas time with snow and cold. Love the videos, definitely inspiring. Burl Ives Silver and Gold and when the tree is the only light on in the room.

I just bought the original Bare Minerals in medium 10 and I think it’s too light. Do you think I should get a darker shade and mix them, or do you think the warmth will help?
