It happens SO many times, they are probably looking at something else and when the bike moves they jump :p
My kit/track day car props when you engage a gear from neutral & also requires a slight throttle blip. It's is absolutely hilarious to drive around town. You get people distracted edge forward like that or even funner are Barry boys in their fiestas, polos, etc. or 30 somethings in their de-badges BMW 3 series/Audi A3 diesels doing full on wheel spin launches through red lights.

There is definitely something special about the cross-plane engine :D That feeling when you recognise where you are at 6:30 and prepare your ears for a symphony ;) Loving the second camera angle, and oh that bonus clip :D
I have a special love for Honda, but if I were to buy a Supersports the R1 and CBR would have a big battle just because of the crossplane on the r1.

9:14 you probably already know this but the downshifting would be alot smoother and safer if you blip the throttle while downshifting, it is called revmatching. Without revmatching, you risk locking the back wheel up as the clutch will bite in the lower gear while the wheels are turning too fast for the engine, which can cause the wheel to lock up and skid (in other words, a large amount of sudden engine braking). Blipping the throttle allows the engine to match the speed that the wheels are turning at when changing to a lower gear.
Hi DogTagz thanks for the heads up, in fact im aware of it and probably 90% of the times I do it. But in this case I was upshifting and not downshifting.

Hi what camera and audio set up are you using ? pic is great and the bike sounds awesome!
Hi Lee! Its a GoPro hero 5 but you can get the same quality with the Hero4, and I use external recorder for the sound!
MrTemjin is that an external Mic that plugs into the go pro ? all I get with my helmet cam is wind noise ! so annoying !
No Lee, I use a Tascam DR05 for normal recording and then if I need to motovlog I will connect external microphone to the DR05, I never use GoPro audio.
Check one of my Motovlogs to look at the sound quality on them. Also check out Lets Talk Audio- MrTemjin's Setup.

What was the scooter at 7.14 onwards? It was quick!! I'm guessing a Honda SH300i ? (That's the scooter I want to replace my Honda ANF125 Innova) :-)

Yes, it is fully legal in the UK to filter or lane split, even if it is into incoming traffic BUT in the latest case IF you get hit it will be 100% your fault. Some other countries allow it too.
Do you always ride with your hands on the levers?
Normally yes within the city, as there are too many unexpected things happening and I need fast reaction :P

What I like about my exhaust is that its not loud when in low revs, its not even annoying in low revs, but then it screams in high revs. Meaning I can use the bike daily without bothering anyone else and me included, but If I want to open up I will hear her :P

Both R1 BUT they need to have the crossplane engine. The front one is the previous model and the back one the most recent one. They sound amazing!
Thanks, first time I heard it up close like that, never seen one drive by in real life (very rare here in Sweden) so couldn't place the sound. Must be aftermarket exhaust on that one though, right?
Both have aftermarket exhausts, but this bike is all about the engine and not much about exhausts. Most 4 cylinders will sound more or less the same. Very distinct bikes will be the R1 with crossplane engine and the Aprilia RSV4 with the V4 engine.
@wolfkindcx: it's the lovely sound of an r1 with a crossplane crankshaft. it sounds unique and beutiful with basically any of the custom exhausts for those bikes :)

I had some chavvy prick shout at me for no reason (I think he doesn't like cyclists) . He started running at me so I hit the brakes ready to get off but then he ran into my back wheel and fell over . He was pretty hurt so I think that was a good enough lesson . Saves my fists from getting bruised too :) !!!
