Great vlog. Not many designers show or like to admit where/how they source their references. I think being transparent with it helps normalize that we all get our ideas from somewhere and not everyone has to make completely unique pieces.

umm it really depends. Harajuku back alley is mainstream, Shimokita “was” for thrifting few years back but its also changed and became mainstream , Koenji is also nice

When I used to read and checkout those Japanese mags, most of the resale store look like they sold everything collectable. From toys, clothes, vintage furniture and sneakers. Are there stores like that still in Tokyo?
The reason I’m asking is I’m in San Francisco and I can find great stuff at thrift stores and resale stores like Crossroads. Oh I just scored and found a vintage Claude Montana leather jacket from the 80s at a junky sidewalk sale for $8. I thought it was really dated until I started watching your videos and the trend is returning back to being oversized with Dolan sleeves of the 80s. So my $8. CM jacket is back in style.

Not in places like Tokyo because all these vintage clothes are bought and imported.
but even in American thrift stores all clothes are donated and the stores there still overprice, Goodwill even sells expensive items on ebay.

I get you, here ( germany ) lately many shops pop up that sell such, but they don't make much business because they try to sell that crap for ridiculous prices by labeling it "vintage" after buying cheap. But who can blame them for trying when there are "fashionistas" that pay those prices?
Luckily there are still secondhand sellers, online too, with sensible prices ... at least for brands, no idea about designers.
