- Years ago, I flew into Montana bought my first Suzuki Vstrom DL650 but the Going to the Sun Road was closed at Glacier National Park, in Montana. With the V650 sold, I'm trying another fly-n-buy again on a lightly used Vstrom DL1000 to conquer this road finally crossing it off my bucket list. This is the start of my four-day ride home on the Suzuki V1000.

You’re having too much fun, good for you. Beautiful country.
Everything worked out perfectly and the plan to ride the "Going to the Sun road" came together with only 3 days notice. The bike was/is Amazing.
Beautiful trip. You are living the dream, VW.
Andrew! Well said!
It is very obvious you are enjoying that beautiful ride through Montana! The V is such a great ride. I know that there is more to come on this video series. Looking forward to seeing it!
For those 4 days I was living the dream, Vstrom 1000 and the NW a perfect combination. Hope you had a wonderful holiday, Andrew.
You make a great foster parent for these bikes Dave. I like Montana. My mother was born on a ranch in the south east part of the state and I have been there a few times. Nice video. Thanks!
I give them love, a beautiful ride and kick them to the curb. I actually had no plans to sell Monti ever, but the big blonde 1050 walked into my life. Guest appearance of Mr. Munch in the beginning.
ROB !!!!!
I was born & raised there. Both parents lived in area. Dad in Kalispell & mom right on Swan Lake. Know it well. Live in southern Utah now which is a jaunt to get back home. Never done it on a bike yet but it’s on the bucket priority list. Glad you could experience all the places I love dearly.
I used to fly forest fires across the US, and Montana was always a place I looked forward to when we went. I was lucky enough to fly over Glacier Park many times but experiencing it from a motorcycle always a bucket list item. From the park I rode through Utah back to Phoenix, that is an amazing place too. Thank you for sharing your story.
New to you bike, in some beautiful places, perfect I tell ya

It is a great looking bike!
Hi Patrick, it is a fantastic machine and it cleaned up like new, unfortunately or fortunately I got a smoking deal on a Vstrom 1050 so it's going to hurt but Monti has to go. It gave me an amazing ride home.

I wasn’t able to ride through Glacier National Park either. Was going to be 3-4 days. So still on the list. It’s a beautiful ride when everything is just grass as far as you can see. One of the states that just captivates me. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Calvin, I was disappointed the first time on the Vstrom 650 too, but an avalanche is out of my control. Next video is the stunning ride through Glacier Park. Great to hear from you.

Looks like you scored another sweet bike. I love Montana, had the good fortune to ride through a little of it last summer.
It is a sweet bike, but I seem to have them a few months and move on. The big blonde Vstrom 1050 will probably stay a while. Montana is breathtaking. The ride back to Arizona one of the best yet. Thank you.
VW !!!!! - Another awesome Widget Works Production !!! - Just beautiful country !!! - Those V Stroms just punch out highway miles like it's nothing !!!!!
Cheers !!!
Pilot OW … The big V1000+ just burn through the miles while the engine loafs along, and 50mpg. Without a doubt the best 4 days I ever spent on a motorcycle. Cheers Amigo
I’m partial to the VStrom 1000 myself… Perfect weather with blue sky and 77F. The current windscreen looks much different from the OEM windscreen on my 2019. I had several great rides in Montana this year, but did not get Glacier NP and the Going to the Sun Road. Will need to be a future adventure.
I fell in love with this Vstrom 1000 in about 20 miles, it is an amazing machine and very comfortable too. The best 4 days I ever spent on a motorcycle. Glacier Park is a must ride; I hope to go back on the V1050 next year. This has the optional Suzuki windshield which is a bit different. I hope next year you get to ride through the park on your V1000. Thank You
