I did the same bearing on my Maytag for like $20 (name brand bearing) instead of a $400 service call. The outside tub also had a small stress crack, and the dealer wanted another $400 for that part. I drilled the crack to release the stress and filled it with JB Weld, plus a coat of silicone to be sure. 5 years later we are still going strong. Total job took an evening and waiting overnight for the JB to solidify.
You did a great job ,and I think it's better that when you bought it brand new because you will get double the time from when it was new from your fix .A lot of people don't have the ability to problem solve or the ambition so bravo to you my friend bravo.
Don't forget to fill the drum up while it's standing on it's back after the seal had enough time to dry out, to check for any leaks. You don't want a leaky drum ruining your electronics and motor
@@mika69ize at least you got 6 more years out of it instead of having to replace it. On a lot of the new machines the plastic on the outer drums are thinner which make these repairs even trickier.
Hey mate awesome video in the process to doing the same but struggling like hell 😅, what sealant did you use and did the bolt that holds the pulley come out easy for you?
I’m finding the same with the 842G. You can get in to view the outer bearing through the hatch on the back of the machine. This one has a 6206 (62mm OD, 30mm ID) but I’m having to guess that the other bearing which is currently hidden between the drum and the nylon tub is a 6207 (72mm/35mm) based on what is in the kits I’ve seen elsewhere. Disappointed that there isn’t an OEM repair for this part. £220 for a replacement drum on a £250 machine!

Fair play. Good work
those drums make great fire pits !!
So iv been told
Yes, I can attest to that
I’d have struggled putting that rubber bit back in never mind taking it apart 😂
Excellent work.
100% excellent!
Great work, it's criminal they sell all machines with sealed drums.
How is the repair holding up since, any leaks?
I did the same thing 6 1/2 year ago. No leaks, but now the bearins are making noise again 🤦♂️
