if you look at justins fights with oliveira and chandler, he turned into his wild self again. "cautious gaethje" only exists when he fights bums like james vick.
Also, when Eddie fought Gaethje, Alvarez was washed up, he wasnt in his prime in his entire ufc run, his prime ended in 2013 in bellator, yet he still knocked gaethje tf out even though he was past his prime.

he ko'd dustin in the first fight, and got robbed by the hands on ground rule (which may be the worst rule in ufc history) and in the second fight
he was in a dominant position, landed a soft illegal elbow (which landed on dustins shoulder) and the ref stood them up. when oliveira grabbed poiriers glove, they didnt stand charles up.

I’ve trained with Steve Carl many times, and he had many fights under my home gym. Guy’s the definition of tough, even trained with his knee and ankle shredded.
He just debuted in boxing and KO’d his opponent. Look for him making his way to BKFC👊🏼👊🏼

GDR was probably the worst champion in ufc history. Ducked her biggest threat as soon as she won the belt. Carla sucks but at least she took a fight we all knew she was getting merked in

Yeah, Carla gets shit on a lot but she beat Rose twice to win the belt and at least defended it against the top competition after. She's not a great champion but nothing bad like ducking fights or having to vacate.

Such a shame because GDR would actually have been a very tough matchup for Cyborg in the striking, and Cyborg may have had to lean on her grappling to win.

I don't think Ben would have done that well in the UFC to be honest. He would have picked up some wins here and there, particularly against guys who can't defend takedowns like Condit and Diaz but man Lawler, Hendricks and Woodley would have absolutely cleaned his clock, potentially even Koscheck as well and there's no way he beats GSP.

I thought Valentina won the second fight with Amanda, but it was definitely close. The fact that amanda is 2 weight divisions higher (ok just one if she nearly kills herself) and way bigger than valentina makes me consider valentina the better p4p fighter than amanda. I’m a fan of both of them so it’s not favoritism, in fact as a person valentina is kinda odd, amanda seems like she’d be more fun to hang out with (unless we go to a shooting range, then i want to go with Val).
The fact that she's bigger should seal it for you. If skills and talent were the exact same Mighty Mouse could never beat Jon Jones.

Amanda won. Valentina lost
Valentina is the best female fighter, and the reason we have the term "pound for pound". She was a natural flyweight forced to fight at bantamweight against someone who should probably be fighting at light or even welterweight. Nunes and Cyborg's greatest ability has nothing to do with their fighting skill. It's their ability to cut absolutely insane amounts of weight and blast away women 40 pounds lighter than them with sheer strength and power. She didn't lose to Pena because she had a bad camp, she lost because Pena managed to drag her into a battle of skill.
And still Valentina won fight 2, pushed the pace, landed the bigger shots, won 3-5 and definitively 4-5. She was robbed out of being the first double champ while fighting a much bigger woman.
Nah, you're not giving credit where it's due. Amanda has great punching technique, her ability to catch people right at the end of her punches where they have the most power is uncanny. She's a black belt in BJJ under Daniel Valverde and a brown belt in judo. To say she's not skilled is just stupid to be honest.
I get that you guys are Valentina fans and think she's the greatest of all time and "she was robbed in the second fight with Nunes." Which I'll grant was a close fight, but the stats on who outlanded who round by round match who won the fight. According to the stats Nunes outlanded Shevchenko 3 out of 5 rounds. Stats arent everything, but they are an indicator, and they do suggest the fight wasnt a clear win that Valentina was robbed of.
Anyway, my point is this: don't try to say Valentia is the best by trying to discredit Nunes, it looks petty. Do it by giving reasons that she deserves to be called the best, not excuses to why Amanda is considered the GOAT over her.

And don't pretend: No one expects a technical chess match on the ground when they watch an Amanda Nunes fight, no matter who she got her black belt from. They expect to see Hulk smash teeny woman (at least, at bantamweight, the sizes are a bit fairer when she fights at featherweight... assuming she's not fighting a regular bantamweight who just isn't cutting as much because the UFC's Women's Featherweight division has like five people in it and is probably even only still open to allow Nunes to be a double champ).
The only reason Valentina ever even fought Amanda in the first place was because the UFC only had 115 and 135 divisions. Nunes would smash Joanna too, but no one would claim she's a more technical striker. If they had a 125 from the start, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. It wouldn't even matter if you think Amanda is technically skilled or not, because Valentina's probably the most technical fighter in the entirety of the UFC's women's divisions. Pound for pound, Valentina's just a better fighter. She just has less pounds than Amanda, so to say. That's why we have pound for pound rankings. What other fighter can say the only time they've lost in the last decade is when fighting the champion two weight classes up?

In my opinion, Namajunas vs Esparza 2 was questionable even in having a result at all other than No Contest or Draw. It can't be argued that Rose lost the title by not fighting in that "fight", but I wouldn't say that Carla won it either, she was just there to pick it up from Rose's loss.
I had never been so sure of the result of a fight before it happened as I was for Esparza vs Weili. If I was in the US it would have been the first fight I would have actually bet money on.

After that 2nd fight, if you think she deserves an immediate rematch then you must be either new to the sport or a god damn idiot, probably both. Nunes herself said she could've finished the fight at any point and purposely dragged it out to a dominant decision, and I don't doubt her on that, especially when she secured that d'arce. That's such a power move to silence the critics and I love it.

I personally felt that HW DC was destined to lose the title back to Stipe. The first fight was an eyepoke to victory, and DC couldn't stop saying that Stipe should fight someone else before him, back sign in my opinion.
The eye-poke played no part in the win for DC, its just an excuse for Stipe fans to bitch and moan about (like they do every other day). DC and his team knew Stipe drops his hands off clinch breaks, and they exploited Stipe's desire to constantly want to clinch with DC to clip him. Stipe lost because he underestimated DC, not because of an accidental eye-poke.
But anyway, the fact DC was handily winning the 2nd fight until Stipe landed those body shots tells me that no, DC was not destined to lose the belt back to Stipe. After all, Stipe didn't make the adjustment until the 4th round where he needed a finish to win. JBJ by contrast, was attacking DC's body right from the start of their second fight. Clear difference in fight IQ and strategy.

Strong disagree about the second fight. Sure DC was winning the rounds, but Stipe won the fight. DC abandoned the gameplan that his team had made for him, continued to engage with Stipe who is known to have knockout power, and then when he was getting tagged, refused to switch back to his wrestling. Destined to lose doesn't mean not being as skilled, it can mean being too assured in your skill that you leave yourself open to being finished.

I'm not a khabib hater but as a fan, he left some questions unanswered and the title of undisputed is just that. I just wanted to see Khabib vs Cerrone or Khabib vs Ferguson.
