  • Getting a job - let alone the right one is set to get harder as the latest jobless figures reveal the unemployment rate has hit a two-year high, rising to 4.2%
An extra 24,000 people have joined the unemployment queue, leading to tight competition for even lower skilled jobs.
Job ads on seek have fallen by 15%, with positions in marketing, hospitality, mining, technology and engineering even harder to get.
Overall, the number of applications for each job has risen by 60%, with some roles attracting around up to 400 applications.
It's bad news for job hunters, but could mean good news for the RBA and its fight against inflation.
