  • Dagan takes the small, but very powerful Marshall DSL1CR 1W All Valve Combo Amp with Reverb for a spin!
    The Marshall DSL1CR, "Dual Super Lead" All-Valve 1-Watt Combo Amplifier for Guitar, with Built-in Reverb is a monster of an amplifier designed for those in need of a portable, high powered valve amp that they can use around the home. The smaller construction and 5 watt all valve design ensures you can enjoy the lush tube saturation sounds at lower volumes to avoid noise complaints and being evicted for jamming out! Great! Although we’d advise trying to annoy your neighbours!
    Check out the Marshall DSL1CR 1 Watt Combo over at PMT Online today - bit.ly/3zkRfW3

    You have two distinct channels - Classic and Ultra Gain providing everything you need from classic Marshall clean tones to the high gain distorted sounds that put Marshall on the map!
    It’s also a great mini amp for practicing at home too, thanks to the Emulated Cabinet Output which engages when you plug into the Headphone Socket. This means you can take a direct line out to a DAW and rehearse at home with headphones on whilst you enjoy the sound of an emulated Marshall stack!

      I've been saying the same thing. Where were these amps 30 years ago? I knew I wanted them and many people that did, but at best you would get a low wattage tube amp with Volume, Gain and Master Tone and that was about it. Now that I don't need this kind of amp, they are everywhere.

    This type of small valve amps didn't existed when I was young and learning, but now I have bought one for my apartment and it's just awesome, it sounds like a big Marshall stack, in a tiny format. The legendary Marshall full valve sound I grown up with, now in my bedroom!

    Bought one during the summer. This is by far the best of the 'mini' amps I've tried. Very satisfied. Even with the 8in speaker, its kinda impressive. Weakest part is probably the reverb, compresses the output the more you crank it. Not a deal breaker however, cuz for us noise makers, you'll find a use for it.

    • @xb5883
      @xb5883 Před 2 lety

      I have one and don't notice compression with the reverb. I find the built in reverb works great for most musical context and it takes reverb pedals on the Classic Gain channel really well if you want atmospheric or spring drip.

    So I can buy a Marshall head version of this and take the emulated out and plug it into the front of a solid state transistor amp Katana 100w for instance and I've got the portability of a light weight amp and a cheap low cost of replacement and service tube solution? Don't say no because I'm buying it maybe a FRFR or a PA active speaker but it could be into a Katana or a Roland JC40 etc. I have a JC-120 but that defeats the light weight easy transport element but would sound good. The Marshall tube gain just sounds perfect. Wot a Tube tone solution that minimises the cost of fannying about with heavy expensive unreliable tube amps. I want a Knighthood for this piece of genius.

      EQ matters a lot, mostly the treble which you gotta run near 0 or there's too much fizz. Likely due to the 8" speaker. Crank the mids to get rid of the mud. Not particularly versatile but it does put out good tones once you find the sweet spot.

      The ht-5’s distortion isn’t as good to my ears . It also seems to have a blanket over the speaker type sound , where it’s kind of muffled sounding . Also the Ht-5 is not really a tube amp it’s more of a hybrid amp . The Marshall definitely has more of that classic Marshall tube tone you can find in the bigger amps just in a smaller package . I picked one up used for $220, but have seen them locally for 250-300 . So far I really love its tone .
