Crazy to see Ken Jeong and the rest of the cast gushing over Michelle Yeoh. It's such a privilege to be able to witness such an amazing group of talented Asians front and center instead of being relegated to the side. What a moment.
She's a legend.
the first ever asian Bond girl.. the legendary Michelle Yeoh
True
Dude, she's an international level actress. No offence to the rest of the cast but Michelle is just on another level.
@Shadowy Outcomes He's Asian and white, but that doesn't mean he's not Asian. Don't be a gatekeeping twat.
Michelle Yeoh is an absolute QUEEN. She is a legend and a treasure.
Trust the BOND Girl to still beautiful AF at whatever age,
"Asian don't Raisin!"
Yes.
Michelle Yeoh...goddess
The title was about meeting Golding for the first time which was good, but they praised Michelle to the hilt. And I have to say that she deserves it...the Meryl Streep for the Asian community.
This is the most serious i've ever seen Ken Jeong but yessssss i agreeeee. Just watching everyone talk about how incredible Michelle Yeoh is was the best part of the vid
He is very passionate about Asian/As-Am representation and opportunities in the industry, and has used his success to finance and promote other projects. He spoke about it in more depth on a different CRA interview that was one-on-one. It was my first time seeing him be so serious, but the way he talks about the impact of Michelle and the CRA characters is in line with the passion I saw in that interview.
zoojyby93 It’s cool the kind of respect he has for her since he’s Korean American I wasn’t sure how much KAs know of Michelle. Don’t bash me because in our household we know she is very popular in Asia.
u need to watch more youtube
Dr. Ken is correct!! This is not just a film about Asians. It's empowering for women too!! So many great messages in this film!
Many other alternative story lines could have gotten the job done better to empower women. This movie reinforced the cliche that the best option for a girl in her life is to marry a rich husband, stay away from the crazy in-law, but maintain full access to the fortune. Is this the right message for young girls in the 21st century?
michelle is so classy and respected
She came from an old money rich family in Colony Malaysia.. kinda like an Elite family background hence the classy aura!

It made me tear up actually to hear and feel the passion in Ken Jeong's words on her admiration for Michelle and what it meant to him personally as a father. Its full of honesty and genuine admiration, which makes me love them and the entire cast more, even if I haven't seen the movie yet. Can't wait to see it on the big screen! congratulations on your great success!
Ken loves Michelle that much. You must watch another video when he instatalk his castmates. He said that the best people on earth is Michelle Yeoh. He even wished that he was the green sword used by Michelle in crouching tiger hidden dragon sword of destiny. He said, he wants to work with Michelle and he even said to be just a props that Michelle is using in her movies. I've heard a lot and read a lot of about Michelle. People were saying the same that Michelle is a very classy but humble human being. I wished i could also got a chance to meet her.
ME TOO
Another good casting point: Michele is actually old enough to be Henry's mother! None of this woman playing the mother is 5 years older than guy playing her son like in Star Trek with Quinto and Ryder.
She's 56!? She looks better than most women half her age.
She was 25 when she gave birth to Henry and then she gave Henry to Amah to be taken care of.
Awkwafina looks so beautiful omg Queen natural beauty
She's considered as super average in Asia. Eastern and Western has different beauty standards I guess.
I think shes pretty and im asian
Dumbledore Mid 🙄 can we just let someone compliment her beauty? 😔😔😔😔
Michelle is a Legend, her casting alone guaranteed that they would draw crowds, at least in China for sure
And Malaysia
Of course in the Philippines. We do love Michelle Yeoh. She is the only celebrity I know from this movie.
This is so nice and wholesome. I love it when people are nice to each other 😭😭😭
I love Awkwafina's voice.
Yup! And it's all natural, as well as authentic NYC Speak -- trust me, I know what I'm talkin bout when it comes to REAL NYC accents.
me too
Hollywood needs to make more Asian American movies!
Tetsuya Hayami I agree.
Its confirmed. Crazy Rich Asians 2 coming up. Hahahaha.
FUCK YEAH BABY!!!!!! Asians people rules!!!!!! XD
Super agreeeeeeeeeeeeeeed
It’s 2 years later but I LOVE Awkwafina’s eye shadow here!
Henry over there blushing every time someone calls him hot or gorgeous is adorable 🤣.
Awkwafina says of Yeoh, "Every role you've taken in your career has somehow challenged the way Asian women are portrayed." To paraphrase she embodies a completely strong woman. So true. My first recollection of her was from the Bond movie, "Tomorrow Never Dies". She was a completely strong woman, as capable as Bond. What stood out was that she nevertheless had to be rescued by Bond later in the movie.
The love in that room creates the love in this room! Please more love besos
Awkwafina is So Funny, Cute and one of the Best actresses Ever!!
awww
Never heard of Awkwafina until I watched Nora from Queens, she is a cool person and she can rap
they all did amazing but michelle was iconic af in the movie
0:56 Ken Jeong laughed slapping his own thigh. Gold 😂
He is adorbs and talented 😄
I LOVED the movie. Usually. I will get disappointed with very high expectations for a movie. But not this one. It still rocked. I even dabbed my tears with a pocket towel.
Just gotta comment, LOVE that Henry brought up Sunshine!!!! One of my favorite movies, and Michelle was AMAZING in it.
It's great to hear that Michelle Yeoh is so humble and down to earth, but I would still be so starstruck and nervous around her, there's a 100% chance I would make a complete fool of myself!
omg I love you ken jeong. really is nice to see asians from different background together for a project like that. to many more
As Asian and a Singaporean, it is nothing short of marvellous watching how Michelle Yeoh overcome her earlier setbacks i life, and went on from strength to strength, her earlier foray into Hongkong kungfu movies of the 80s and tye dramatic roles that she has taken on these days... Kudos to her! 😄
Haha i think she was the great tag team with Cynthia Rothrock in Yes Madam. I don't understand why Cynthia was not noticed by Hollywood. Hahahaha.
What setbacks did she have? I always thought her career was smooth sailing.
da96103 Her earlier love life ?!?
You mean to one to Dickson Poon? Lol, until you mentioned it I wouldn't have remembered. I just remembered they divorced.
michelle yeoh is malaysian. she is still in Malaysia a lot, and her entire family still lives here.
Michelle is such a goddess!
I got goosebumps just listening to them praising Michelle!!
Astrid is such an underrated character.
Michelle Yeoh was so great in this film!! I would be so scared if Eleanor Young was my MIL, would probably run away for good
I would take that cheque and run for my life.
awkwafina such a spirit animal hahaha
Just watched the movie today..Michelle yeoh really did very well
That scene with Ken Jeong around the dinner table is one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen!
everyone giving Michelle so much respect I AM CRYING!!!!! ***ASIAN PRIDE****
I am soo in love with all of them
I honestly love the movie!
Michelle Yeoh is the real crazy rich asian over here with that Richard Mille
I must agree with that and take note she owns the ring she wore in crazy rich asians.
Is that the watch she is wearing
Ugly watch. Low class to show money but not value.
@@KruPreng Spoken like a true jelly
Her voice is so cute
I'm a white American man who's family emigrated to the USA more than a few generations past. I am married to an Asian woman who is not American, so we have that amazing mix of cultures as well as the obvious physical differences.
We are about to start a family and our kids are obviously going to be half SE Asian. I like to see movies like this coming out with all Asian casts because I honestly keep forgetting that my very own future children will be dramatically different than myself and my wife. Neither of us know what it is like to be mixed race. We have no idea what they will look like, which will affect their daily life. I just want them to be healthy and know whether they identify as Asian, white or something in between, they can do anything they want. It's good to see doors being opened rather than closed.
Amen, well said, a warm welcome to your beautiful children, from a Malaysian Chinese mother of two gorgeous daughters whose father is British of English/Irish/Scots ancestry.
🤩🙏🎈🤗♥️♥️♥️ such an awesome cast (and persons )!!!
what an amazing conversation on this show unlike the dialogue in the movie.
awesome!
this movie. I love it.
Love them
yeah!!! Michelle baby!!! always so gracious even as they spoke of her during this interview she was ever so filled with humility...go, Michelle! keep leading all women of color forward as you have these last 30odd years!!!
Yeah, i can she that she's a lil bit shy though they are telling the truth. She might not expected that they are going to express their admiration to her in this interview.
i came here for Michelle so beautiful!!
Excited for Peik Lin's love line in the coming movies
awkwafina is a riot. she is ghetto as fuck and i love it XD
I see a great team here.
That Richard Mille on Michelle. Pure class...
Somehow Ken Jeong reminds me of an Asian version of Martin Short.
damn, I was waitig for the punchline, Ken Jeong!
Michelle is a legend
True
Lol Bernard Tai in the back.
I legit misread as Akinfenwa.
where are they all come from? Their English are realy good and nice to hear.
Akwafina - American
Constance Wu - American
Ken Jeong - American
Henry Golding - Malaysian
Michelle Yeoh - Malaysian
I’m a chauvinistic narcissistic type A male and I love this movie
There will be a 3rd Malaysian Hollywood actor coming soon!! Mark my words
I still see Michelle Yeoh as Capt. Philippa Georgiou, Captain and commanding officer of the USS Shenzhou
but I wanted to hear which cast member everyone else meet first :D
Hahahahah.. That was the question actually but they ended up praising Michelle. Well, Henry started the story on how he reacted when Michelle invited him for tea. I love the flow of this interview, though. 😊
Michelle😍👸
Why is no one commenting on the way Henry Golding is holding his microphone like a champagne flute, i.e. like a proper CRA!!
CAN ANYBODY HELP ME FIND KEN JEONG'S JACKET ONLINE? ANY LINKS TO WHERE I CAN PURCHASE IT???? I LOVE THAT JACKET!!!!
KevinKwan iiis like "yes, bitches, i gave u power.. im the one that wrote that book"*nods while smirking*
Interesting
Michelle Yeoh could also play Constance Wu's mom in a movie.
Michelle Yeoh... Kind of reminds me of Meryl Streep a little?
maybe non-asians ppl won't get this, but if you're asian and you grew up watching movies from hong kong you'd know michelle yeoh.. she's like, what all the girls my age aspire to be.. even if you don't wanna be her, as a girl you would have at least respected her... she's an icon.. if we want to be strong, we think of her.. like, what would her character do in this situation?
Haha awesome. I always knew Michelle the ass kicker in her classic Yes Madam series but to see her today as the mother, wow! Change in directions and quite convincing. I hope to see Jackie Chan play the father role 1 day in drama films. Hahahaha.
OMG! I remembered watching Yes Madam on TV in the 1980s.
Looking forward that Jackie will be plying the role as Eleanor's husband in this movie.
What does awkwafina mean when she says "ad"?
Assistan Director, I guess?
Assistant Director, but I think that she actually means the idea of someone far down the directing chain. My brother was a DGA trainee for Second Assistant Director, and even that position is way high up on the chain with upper 6-figure paychecks. No AD or even 2nd AD would ever come to the door to give marks, etc. to an actor on a movie of this size or budget.
What exactly is an AD ?
"Malay," not "Mayan." Virtually furthest point on Earth from Singapore. But I love Awkwafina!
Dorks
What is AD?
She sounds like Scarlett Johansson.
What is AD
Michelle is GOD.
Uhhh... what's an AD?
Dropped a "crazy poor asians" song! Check it out
Michelle Yeoh, Gong Li, Sandra Oh, Joan Chen and Ming Na-Wen in a Hong Kong gangland thriller where the women come out on top of their male adversaries - that's the movie I want to see. Fortunately, dreams are free ;)
Till then, I wait impatiently for this to finally be released -
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triple_Threat_(upcoming_film)
Michelle is just a perfect cut diamond. No flaws.
What is an AD
Assistant Director
I dont see it with Golding. If I were to cast an attractive "Chinese" man, I would've gone with Lewis Tan, Dennis Oh or Daniel Henney.
I think there are probably a billion Asians who would disagree with you. That said, he is the only one who has no Chinese ancestry at all.
Wonder how and why her parents named her "Awkwafina" such a unique name. I need time to practise calling her name.
Am I the only one who doesn’t know what an AD is
Marry me Michelle! ❤️💗
"Hands Off She's Mine", ya bleedin bleatin battering ram
what is an AD?
assistant director
henry reminds me of a young chow young fat
Yes!!! I was thinking, his face reminds me of someone but i can't remember who..
I wish Rachel's mom was included in this interview
an awkward name
Lol
She's so over ...so Awkward-fina
She talks alot
mAan
I have a feeling Constance doesn't like (jealousy?) Michelle Yeoh, if you notice in other videos she never talks about Yeoh but rather looks annoyed when her name comes up.
They have to keep the tension till the sequel.
Not true!
present day method acting
Oh please you're overreacting of something that doesn't even exist! Stop spreading stupid assumptions
Lol not really, I noticed Constance has a natural "resting bitch face" (a very stern, unhappy expression) when she's neutral or just not smiling (like when she's just listening or thinking) in all interviews, whether it's just her or with any of the cast present. You're reading too much into this, it's kinda ludicrous that you'd assume she's "jealous" lol
I was a concierge in Singapore's top hotel where Michelle Yeoh was staying at. She was such a b***h with her demands and "needs" and was very diva-like. This was after Crouching Tiger. So the concierge team view of her is slightly different from you all. Sorry.
bye, i only wanted to hear from awkwafina
As a Latina, I was hoping to relate to this movie the way I did ‘my big fat Greek wedding’. You didn’t have to be Greek to appreciate that movie, it transcended ethnicity. Any ethnicity could see that movie and see their family. ‘Crazy rich asians’ was a huge let down. First, it was not funny, and 2nd, it was CRUEL. I’m surprised no one has mentioned how it depicts asians as awful people.
Thing is that's how Asian people are. It's not sugar coating anything
@@Silver-Lyfe so they’re awful? 😂
@@Nazaba09 the social status heir archy is
@@Silver-Lyfe yikes. I still don’t see how this movie was a romantic COMEDY.
