The selection process for PhD job offers usually take some time , you need to be patient and you can also contact the principal investigator of the research group you applied for if you are concerned. In principal , if you are accepted for an advertised position (PhD study) you will be paid a monthly salary as university employee, I think the university research group will probably have who manages research project fund, so I don't think the group will give you the funding, you are just going to be like any other employee who is on salary at least from my experience working with PhD students during my masters degree pragramme at the LCSB. You may also apply as a self finance PhD Student but you need to find a supervisor , but there is also how you can source for fund within LUX if you are a self-finance student and your supervisor may help you with that process if you find one. Self-funded/financed means you have to pay for the tuition fees yourself, and if your research involves funding, you have to source funding by yourself. But the good thing is that there are funding opportunities that you can submit a proposal for, and your potential supervisor could help you with that as well to secure funding for your research as a self-paying student. On the other hand, if you are admitted as sponsored PhD student based on available positions, you will be paid a salary just like an employee of the university through a PhD student. Remember that some of the law programme may be taught in french or German, so if that is the case then you need to show evidence of your proficiency in those languages.
