We are so thirsty for any updates to the game. We get excited for a circle on the name tags. Don’t get me wrong. This is amazing and super cool, but it’s just funny how happy everyone is with this one add to the game 🤣

This update just reduces the skill ceiling further...keeping track of your teammates boost is part of becoming better at the game.
Keeping track of your opponents boost is part of the game. You can already spam “need boost” or simply just be in comms w ur tm8. This is a quality of life update
You should know your tm8s boost all the time anyways in comms or quick chat it’s unfair if your solo q and have no clue what your tm8 on all the time
My hope is in the lower ranks it will make (not all but at least some) teammates more aware that they have other teammates who also need boost and space etc

If you mean putting numbers, then l will say it takes longer to process a number as opposed to a visual

I wish i could just play 4v4 with my friends again... it really sucks having to plan on the calendar when 4v4 will come back just so you can play with more than 2 other people...
Or make the bot difficulty actually challenging... either one will suffice 😅

They should make bigger fields for it too. 4v4 gets tooo chaotic but I think it be more fun on a huge map

I am kinda worried now that this is coded into the game, people might try to make clients or plugins to make it where cheaters can see everyone’s boost. Might not be that big of a deal but still. Got me worried a tad bit.
I’ve always had my nameplate scale at 200% because it is objectively better to be able to see your opponents and teammates more, but now that this feature is/is going to be added, it’s even MORE important that everyone who wants to be the best they can be at the game has the nameplate scale all the way up. This is so that even when they’re all the way down the end of the pitch, you can still see roughly how much boost your teammate(s) have. Hope this (fairly obvious) tip helps everyone :)
I have it big but not max cuz if it’s to big it can get in your way and block your view of another player or the ball and just in general distract you

Should've just put a smaller one right above your own boost as well as names next to it. I play with name tags really small so this just adds more clutter to my screen because I'll have to make them bigger.
You can just ignore the circle and keep them small

They removed rarity colours in Fortnite... and since Rocket League items are compatible with Fortnite, they want to move further away from the traditional grey, white, green, blue, purple, orange colours we all know probably to support whatever motive they have for removing them from Fortnite. That's my take anyway. Oh and yey boost!
This is going to make RL more toxic but it will also make the player base better.. ppl will get rage for poor boost management or straight up for not using boost when needed which will force people to be more aware of boost management in order to avoid that.

I thought they were adding better bots... this update is not bad but neither good i would say, nice to see, but doesn't change too much. I still see my teammates getting in the way even when seeing me with full boost.

Yeah ok but what if you had no boost but your planning on forcing a 50 and maintaining possession. Your in champ 1. Your tm8 can see your low and you get control of the ball. The opponent is rushing. Your tm8 panics, rushes, hits the ball away from you even though you know how to win 50s meaning you knew you were winning that challenge. Now your team has not got possession, you are both bunched up on the right side of the field, and the ball is far away. The opponent gets it and scores... yay more ways to blame my champ tm8. Mb.
If you’re actually good enough to pull that off then you wouldn’t be in champ in the first place, but let’s assume that’s one of the main reasons you’re stuck in champ, then a better play would be either A. Take a 50 with a single jump keeping possession after the 50 or B. Make sure you are covering the angle towards net while faking a 50 then you’ll be able to take possession. Both keep possession for you even if your tm8 rushes in, l would do B over A since B is safer.

This change is small and not bad. But anybody asking for core gameplay changes is just silly.
The only thing RL needs is for huge e-sports places to finally take notice, that RL is in fact easily the best e-sports game.

Literally someone help this update sucks rocket league keeps freezing every single game and I can't play
The switch version force close when trying to open the drops from the garage or when I want to look at the tournament prizes it freezes and close plus the fireworks decal from season 5 force the game to close I talked with epic games about this it didn't fixed from last season 😢
