When delete catalytic the check engine light is on yes ?
It depends!
If you remove the catalytic converter without decoding it in the ECU the check engine light will usually come on, but if you remove the catalytic converter in the ECU along with the tune (usually it's the second lambda you decode) the light will not come on.

@Zee Sometimes a turbo needs a kind of "back pressure/
resistance" to get the turbo to spool up faster. If you have a straight pipe like this (w/o cat and mufflers) it can take more time for the turbo to spool up/build boost, and by that loose some low end power, but i didn't noticed any difference on the boost/spool up time with this setup, except for the sound.

I know the feeling! But, this car have an inspection every year. Just put on a small muffler and the catalyst for the inspection. Then replace it with the "straight pipe" again. Done! :)

Sweet s60 bud I think it Sounds too raw..t-5s loose that amazing unique sound when they are completely without mufflers in the exhaust system...try add in at least one muffler 👍

Hi, How much boost are you running? and I've got an s40 t5 with B5254T3 how much power could it's internals handle?
1.6 bar / 23 psi peak.
Hard to say since the health of the engine etc is everything here, but 300-500hp ish.
Yeah it's in pretty good condition with only 85,000km and wow it can handle a fair bit of boost and it sounds bloody incredible
@@jethrocw9686 Yes, Volvo and Saab (swe power!) with right engine codes are not even using 50% of the engines fully capacity from factory.
Make sure to get a proper tune with a nice looking hp/tourqe curve and it should be ok!

Hey, I am looking towards removing either the cat or the muffler on my S40 T5... I have heard that if you do both the exhaust makes it drone inside really hard and you can't really stand it that much... How did you fare on your end? Is it unbearable?

Yes, that's true that it will drone, alot, inside when having a straight pipe w/o cat or mufflers. It sure sounds good, but after a while it's just too much. So the best setup for a "daily" would be just muffler delete.

Hi man, I got a 2006 s60 t5 m66. It got totaled, the engine and trany is A1, I would like to swap it in a another car (lighter if possible lol not in a s60R) do you have any idea in what car it would fit?
im sorry, but a k24/k26 will not do 500hp. it will roughly do around 440hp without water meth and with water meth you will see at least 470hp at a push.

But i dont think im no where near 500hp, using Vpower whicH is 99ron UK.
my goal is to get 500hp or more, but eveyone tells me i won't even get 450hp with k26. eveyone suggest going gtx30 or 35 or even the EFR turbo's

Yes, SP98 is just regular 98 octan fuel. 98/V-power etc. is great for tuned car, as long the car is tuned on that type of octan/gasoline, but not as effective as E85.
Try to retune your car on E85 and you will see some crazy improvment!
Some "random" reference "V-power vs E85" in dyno with an tuned Audi 2.2t 5 pot engine:
V-Power @ 290kPa 461 hk
E85 @ 290 kPa 550 hk
E85 @ 340 kPa 597 hk
(same engine and all, just different fuel/tune).
So, E85 is the way to go if you want that "little extra".

Sounds nice! This car is tuned to run with E85 (ethanol) so its smells like alcohol. :) But when it's using regular fuel (another tunesetting) it will smell more exhaust fumes yes. Like when you are cold start the car, that type of smell.

That's correct! The B5244T5 is identical to the B52544T4 "R" engine other than an 81mm bore instead of the 83mm bore and different injectors.

It's an FWD T5 with an Quaife differential, otherwise it sure had been problem with the traction.
So if you're planing to modify your car, add an differential and good tires to your "to-do" list, since it's an FWD.
The rims are 19x8,5" Advanti Racing Vulkan.

Ljudet blir rätt högt inne i kupén, speciellt mellan 2-3000 rpm (motorväg). Slutade med att jag monterade en ljuddämpare innan jag sålde bilen, det löste "dronet".

I’m curious to how your 3inch piping cleared the sub frame in the back and doesn’t scrape. Cause a 3 inch pipe has to clear the sub frame and when it does it seems too low. How did you do it?
Try to turn the bushings at the rear axel up side down and see if it helps. I did it on this car, but it's still low.

Yes, it's stock internals. The transmission is also stock (M66) but with an upgrade clutch kit from Sachs. The turbo is a ATM Hybrid KKK24/26 (custom). Cheers mate

I can't really tell because the clutch kit in this one was with the standard dual mass flywheel along with another pressure plate (Sachs kit).

The car is currently sold, but regarding your question, I unfortunately do not have exact information as parts have been changed during the project, but roughly calculated; engine and gearbox $8k, tires and handling $4k and other parts $2k, so $14k excluding the car itself.

You can do it on your own. Just buy some 3" (76mm) exhaust and take down the oem exhaust and build it after that. With our without any mufflers, depends on what you are aiming for with the sounding.

Can anybody help I recently bought a 04 s60 t5 AWD and suddenly the other day I lost literally all throttle response in my accelerator pedal?!!? Itll go in gear and roll but the tachometer doesn't read any increase in rpms?
I'm hearing it's the TPS module? But I dont know anything about Volvos?
The TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) is a common fault on Volvo. Oil and dirt will wears out the TPS engine prematurely and it will eventually break down.
But i recommend
you to read out fault codes. If you don't have an OBD reader to read out fault codes, call an workshop and take it from there.
