    The locomotive should be upgraded too, it looks very ugly with such beautiful and modern coaches, the combination of these two is not so appealing

      They are going to upgrade it to hydrogen-powered engines soon

      ​@@theSecretSauceofLifeyeah hopefully the design is even better than what they showed on this video or maybe we can see multiple trains with diff looks running on this circuit not to say it's already confusing enough with the 6 trains in operation offering so many classes and it keeps changing every 2 months

    Rode this almost 20 years back and the ride was unforgettable. seems like i need to take a trip to Shimla soon!!

    When Gwalior narrow gauge GLR was operational ,the drivers sometimes used to touch 50kmph because they were in a hurry to reach home.the train literally used to tremble. Those were 1991 rakes hauled by NDM 7 Now the majestic Kuno-kwanri express is history

      On Z gauge conversion,stability,speed increase, capacity,more HP,may be possible,which not possible of smaller hill gauge,2 ft.

      Bhai us train ki maxx speed 50 kmph thi aur aapke gyan ke liye bata du ki train maxximum permissible speed par hi chalni hai agar signal green hai aur koi speed restriction nahi hai toh , agar train apni maxx speed se nahi chalegi to loco pilot ko jawab dena pad jayega aur ho sakta hai chargesheet(punsihment) bhi mil jaye . tumhara ye kehna ko loco pilot ko ghar jane ki jaldi hoti thi , ye kehna galat hai . aesa nhi hota hai....

    The new speed record is 28kmph. What was the old speed record? For how long it can sustain 28kmph in the existing tracks?

    we went on this iconic route in 19/20, back then it was the old one. this one is wow. heard about it a few months back

      The track and area restrictions come into play. Due to the age of the tracks and surrounding geography and fragile ecosystem

    Arre bhai when Kolkata metro line 6 New Garia to Ruby will open it is under the trial since September 2022 and still not opened yet while Line 3 opened in December only is it got cancelled or what?

    28 kmph....okay....not bad considering 762 mm track gauge in use by KSR.....
    But could this be increased to 30-35 kmph in the near future?

    Shimla gauge,rly line reqd at Darjeeling, matheran,for better,similar type manouvering,economy,& rollingstock, track
    feasibility.Rlys,track engineers, staff can solve tech issues.

    Although these coaches are Vistadome but from outside the finish on the body looks like these are refurbished and not new. The curves are not smooth

      Our factory makes outer shell by beating the sheets and welding them together making the overall structure while in other countries they make a single long sheet of metal and punch the gaps for windows and doors. Different technology makes different finishing.

    Yeah thats nor true. Theyve conducted tests at 40 km/hr a few years earlier. 28 km/hr isn't the highest speed achieved on this line.

      Pls don't mention it as copied. Bcuz most of the railways around the world find this red+white color as perfect combination. This also includes Navy blue +white. Deutsche Bahn, Israel railways, railways in switzerland(like you mentioned Bernina express, and also Rhatische bahn) also have red-white combination for their carbody exteriors.
