/ allaccess - 'Trust' screened at the Toronto International Film Festival this year, and star, Liana Liberato, sat down to discuss her role and the filming of the movie.
I'm just now seeing this interview in 2023. I'm late to the hype, but I wanted to say that Trust is one of my favorite movies, and it has had a large impact on me over the years. A positive one, that is. When I found this movie in 2014 or 2015, I was met with a similar situation. I was talking to men online, and I was only 13 when I fell for a man much older than me. It's because of this movie, I knew the "relationship" was wrong, and I knew what he really wanted from me. For the four years that we stayed in contact, I had the awareness that a lot of young teens (and Annie) didn't have. I knew what he was doing. Knowing this didn't help with my situation too much, but it did allow me to process everything that was happening to me in the moment. I kept talking to him, only because I didn't have anyone else. Didn't have friends or family who cared about me. I was on my own, and it was very difficult and traumatic, but... I'm so thankful this movie exists. I'm so glad there is a movie out there that can shed light on something so dark. So, with that said, thank you. Thank you for making this film what it is with your spot on acting and courage to fill a challenging role like this one. I'll always love this movie, even if it's still hard to watch sometimes because of my experiences. I'll keep watching it and I'll keep healing from the past. I bet there are other men and women doing the same thing. Thank you.
i like how when she says she is standing up for every girl that has been raped or BOY because a lot of people don't think that boys are raped. But it is true that most victims are girls...
This is THE MOVIE...the best movie i've ever watched, full of drama and emotions...i am really surprised from Liana Liberato, she did an amazing work, but isnt that scene with the 35 years old man illigely? Good Work
This film is pretty essential viewing for parents and young teens alike. I had a colleague at work, seemed like a normal guy, married with 2 kids etc. He was recently arrested and thrown in jail for distributing kiddie porn. Stuff like this is all around us, in our everyday lives, and a film like this can only do good things if it helps even one more child from becoming a victim.
The movie has really good stuff in it to learn. I mean, it's like almost everyday in the news here in my country, there's always a victim of rape, child molestation, pornography and stuff that harms the innocents. Movie is very insightful and informative.
why in the world did you only show clips of Clive Owen when you are featuring Liana Liberato in the interview??! she had so many amazing scenes in this. kid deserved an Oscar...
This movie made me fall in love with Liana Liberato. She is without a doubt one of my favorite actresses. I’m so excited to see her in the Schumacher flick “Trespass.” bit. ly/oW4dGe
Right now I have a online boyfriend but my ex his name is Jay I was like i really wanna meet you and hes like same i wanna kiss you I'm like ya then we ment I snuck and met him I didn't tell my family but I'm so glad I didn't get catfished his family actually thought I was catfishing him alot of people think I catfish but nope I'm just pretty lol. I wanna meet my boyfriend soon idk how cause he lives in a different state and I actually never facetimed him I'm gonna ask him if we could
It's great to see Liana Liberato doing such amazing films because she really can hold her own in these sort of roles. She's not a little girl on CSI now! This film and her new film both premiered at TIFF which is interesting. Both got great reviews too. I just saw Trespass and I really liked it, too. bitly .com/pi3MS1
@emokidx555 Probably to add more emotion to the film.. Make it seem more 'real'. I'm glad they put the scene there.. Too many things in the media get candy coated. Just my thoughts though...
How the fuck did she endure the man touching her ? how the fuck did she endure that ? The man kissing her ..... touching the parts that he shouldn't touch ..... I am really scared as my family encourages me to join drama to act in some kind of movie but .... After seeing some movies ... i don't even dare to act in such like you know ...
I enjoyed the film a lot But as a male it didn't teach me anything really, unless you're in the dads shoes, because 14 year old boys don't meet up at the mall with 35 year old men...
You'd be surprised. There are many many cases where boys have met men or women online and met with them and have gone threw the same thing or worse or similar. Its sad but it can happen to anyone. Unfortunately kids and young teens are very easy to manipulate for an adult. The brain is not fully developed until about the age of 22 or so, maybe older so for an adult who's had more experience and time for their brain to develop its all too easy to manipulate and trick young people.
1:38 I wonder if this film would be different if it were about a 14-year old BOY being molested by an older man (or woman, for that matter). Thoughts, anyone?
@Turrican4D well, i thought that its illegal such a perverted thing with lil girls...but maybe this is not as bad..i dont know..the movie is amazing, anyway ; )
Very good movie, such a great and beautiful actress and the Dad too is so adorable in this movie. But the mother's acting was horrid, why did they cast someone like her.
Her parents should have never allowed her to take this role at only 14 years old. They're milking her like a softporn cash cow, putting her in terrifyingly inappropriate situations all for the sake of a payroll.
JeDovey Lutwidge It’s not just for a paycheck. Of course that filmmaking is a job, you get paid for it. But she does say she did it to stand up to any victim who’s gone through it.

Very good movie, such a great and beautiful actress and the Dad too is so adorable in this movie. But the mother's acting was horrid, why did they cast someone like her.
much better actress as well. And yet Kristen has done WAY more films than Liana.
That´s annoying -__-
