This video explains how to install a GTA Car Kit that enables Wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless AndroidAuto in Mercedes GLS 2017-2019 and GLE 2016-2019 model years (W116/X166).

i drive the GLE coupe (c292) and it comes with wired carplay / android auto. Would I also need to take everything apart or is there a plug&play solution for my car to get wireless carplay/ android auto?

I just installed and the display is not showing but I’m getting sound and says CarPlay connected on phone.. what can I do to fix it?

It’s been 4 months since you posted so you probably figured it out but you have to reset the unit. The little booklet it comes with has a list of commands. Follow the instructions for the reset and it should work. Otherwise make sure your box is properly configured for the size of the screen.

Do you have to kill the battery in order to do the installation?

Nope. Car should be off, but otherwise a straightforward install.
