Infrastructure in the UK was built to keep the heat in, not let it out. That's why heatwave's are far more dangerous here because internal temperatures can keep rising as the buildings weren't designed to let heat flow out.
We need government grants for domestic air conditioning installations.
Insulation works both ways, keep the windows shut?
@@dw4525 😂😂😂😂 for 1 week of heat a year. Delusional
Open front and back windows to get a crossflow of air.
It doesn’t matter that they were built like that in Iran and places like that every same is really hot and every winter it’s freezing I think uk just isn’t used to the heat but it’s not a big deal
everyone slating us english remember we don’t have AC and our homes are built to retain heat
@ummerrahh We don't generally have AC in homes because it's not needed. Be handy for a few days but rest of year it would just sit there.
@@TurinTuramber all the yanks i know have AC in their homes.
I never knew that. Since the weather is changing. Hopefully AC will become more popular.
@@cocoaorange1 yes our homes are made with heavy insulation so when there’s a heatwave we are literally living inside a heat island with no escape.
The 'Weather Supremacists' who need to massage their egos and low self-esteem by criticising Britain, aren't the brightest or knowledgeable of folks. Ego is more important!
I live in the hottest city in Asia (Bangkok) and I feel no need to massage my ego using the weather, and the UK's lack of air conditioning lol.
Stop scaring everyone
So not only did I get to see a Comet coming towards earth last night but now I also get to see the UK heat record rise from 38.9 to 40 oh my life is so action packed right now 🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nahhhh I’m pretty sure that comet passed earlier on in July? There was a livestream last night but it was of the comet moving away
Ohhh epic film content

Flashback to *The Day of the Triffids* ☄️ Classic british horror 👾
How do other countries that have weather like this regularly manage ????? Total scaremongering by the media as always !!!!!
Spent a fortnight in Vegas USA ....always hit 45 C
This is shocking for the UK. I live in Australia and we're not fussed on 40°C heat. We don't shut down here but we're used to the heat. 🤒
Yes we are pathetic.
Total scaremongering by the media as always !!!
Whole cities could just burst into flames and people could die of thirst!!! - if they don't go an get some water from their taps.

Yeah they are pushing the climate agenda really hard again ... its just a couple of very hot days FFS, calm down and carry on.
This is actually hilarious how dramatic they make this! 🤣
Doofus, people die from heat...in a country not used to extreme heat and some no AC, aircon. There WILL BE people that die.
Indeed!
All a part of pushing the climate agenda.
I was wondering the same 🤣🤣🤣🤣
They want us all to believe that it's almost the end of the world and either we are ready to pay for green energy twice as much as for regular one and make many other sacrifices or we are all going to die. What a rip off!
A one day heat wave. Only in the UK.
isn't it tomorrow as well ?
And we also get 3 storms in one week rmb? We have the shittest weather after all.
All about London as usual 😴
I would agree normally but today it's going to the hottest in London.
Yes, the rest of the country doesn’t count with the bbc.
Other countries are laughing at us right now but they all turn on the AC when it's 24 degrees outside and here barely any building has AC
Don’t we supposedly get new heat records every year? Come on, it’s getting boring now.
The fact is that they measure temperatures in different places every year, just so they can manage to get a "record". Also I suspect the numbers are falsified, here in the Midlands we are supposed to have 36 today, it was not, my professional weather station maxed out at 31.8, warm yes but no record.
It would have been interesting if this heat was like for 2 weeks, but 2days???
Totally, it's nothing to be worried about, it's not even record heat. Here in the Midlands "they say" it's 36 degrees now, it's not, it's 31.8, I have a professional weather station, it's all a scam to justify insane climate change policies. It's totally normal in the UK to have some warm days in the summer. On Wednesday it's back to normal with 20-25.
Exactly! This is nonsense!
It’s the future especially for London , too many flats too many cars too many people
Never known a year like it hardly been any rain this year
RED ALERT!!! Heat wave.
Reporter wearing long sleeves shirt and a jacket ... ... ... ... 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Just drink water and avoid exposure to direct sunlight.. I live in a city with temperatures above 42 °C for more than 20 days until now

Severe winter, extreme Summer, this may become a norm in the entire northern hemisphere from America to Asia. Countries in this region need to prepare themselves and get used to this extreme climate.
its going to become unsustainable for life if we adapt to it and avoid whats causing it. just a minor 2 degree rise will kill us. we are almost at 1.5 😭
@@shila9430 The government couldn't give less of a f*** so we'll just have to get used to it.

Everything is a drama. No air-conditioning in the first world. Level up BOJO
If it's a national emergency then just give two days voluntary hols!!!
The repetition of records really annoys me.. talking constantly of how people are affected & the usual disruptions etc. It's on a loop. Maybe there should be more talk, reports & action re climate change, deforestation, melting glaciers, dying coral reefs etc. In 1976, was a bad year, I was only 1, but I'm told it was very hot for ages etc. What about wildlife, etc? It's all the same boring repetitive stuff. Yes I'm struggling, but I'm also wondering about the repercussions of the damage caused by humans to our planet.. the cost of the impact of climate change will dwarf the cost of transition to green energy, changes to try and reduce global warming & e.g helping developing countries adapt to climate change... too much repetition. Always the same.
1600 died from heatsfroke in 2021.
Considering pvertg skyrocketed, its going to be more of a problem, especially how underfunded home and hospitals are.
The polar ice caps melt every year. And then they freeze again every year. They have done this since the Earth began rotating around the sun. Some years there's more ice after re-freezing, including in recent years. Wildlife is smarter than people, it knows to stay in the shade or even under ground where it's dark.
Be scared of the sun during summer!!
😆
Yes, and of cold and snow during winter and of winds during autumn and of melting snow during spring. It's all due to climate change and it all can kill us. So let's stay home at all times and panic and pay up for all the over priced and little effective green technologies as they are the only way to save our lives. What a BS all of that!
I’m at a Tesco cafe in south east London basically in front of a mid size aircondition as it’s too hot outside , it’s like I’m in heaven 😁

End of June 2015 in London, first week of July 2015 in Paris. Streets were melting in BOTH countries. I'd never seen such heat in my life. Rubber trim on cars was dripping down like tears. Saw a bus in Paris, plow through a river of melted asphalt by L'Opera.. In London at Kings Cross / St. Pancras, the Burger King across the street ran out of ice. Everywhere in London, ran out of ice. In Paris, we were limited to 2 cubes of ice per half hour in restaurants. This weeks heat wave can't be worse than the June/July 2015 heat wave that "broke all records" at that time.
FYI, it's 2022 now, but yeah... heat and the law of thermal exchange informs us of the conditions required to "melt" ice cubes, asphalt, and other forms of matter. I'd say we're in the end game now, as the poles are already become unstable and reversing their polarity. Not to mention the Sun will be approaching its own solar cycle soon. I can't wait for the Water Wars to begin.
Dubai/Vegas air-con but not for the majority of poor population, especially in India & rest of sub-continent, Africa, SE Asia.

In 1976 from Wikipedia "Heathrow had 16 consecutive days over 30 °C (86 °F) from 23 June to 8 July and for 15 consecutive days from 23 June to 7 July temperatures reached 32.2 °C (90 °F) somewhere in England. It's been between 40-45 degrees for the past few weeks here in Seville Spain.
This is a lie too it's only 29deg here and they are saying its 36. Everyones like "why are they lying so frequently now"
Really not that intense. 30 isn’t hot. 33 isn’t hot. 35 isn’t hot. Ya’ll be weak
It does take days or weeks for the body to acclimatise after that it's OK. The weather is becoming more extreme, maybe time to ditch the shirt and tie during the hot months.
It's not ok after unfortunately. There are people which have heat intolerance, and it's real suffering 😫
