Infrastructure in the UK was built to keep the heat in, not let it out. That's why heatwave's are far more dangerous here because internal temperatures can keep rising as the buildings weren't designed to let heat flow out.

The repetition of records really annoys me.. talking constantly of how people are affected & the usual disruptions etc. It's on a loop. Maybe there should be more talk, reports & action re climate change, deforestation, melting glaciers, dying coral reefs etc. In 1976, was a bad year, I was only 1, but I'm told it was very hot for ages etc. What about wildlife, etc? It's all the same boring repetitive stuff. Yes I'm struggling, but I'm also wondering about the repercussions of the damage caused by humans to our planet.. the cost of the impact of climate change will dwarf the cost of transition to green energy, changes to try and reduce global warming & e.g helping developing countries adapt to climate change... too much repetition. Always the same.

Saw a bus in Paris, plow through a river of melted asphalt by L'Opera.. In London at Kings Cross / St. Pancras, the Burger King across the street ran out of ice. Everywhere in London, ran out of ice. In Paris, we were limited to 2 cubes of ice per half hour in restaurants. This weeks heat wave can't be worse than the June/July 2015 heat wave that "broke all records" at that time.

FYI, it's 2022 now, but yeah... heat and the law of thermal exchange informs us of the conditions required to "melt" ice cubes, asphalt, and other forms of matter. I'd say we're in the end game now, as the poles are already become unstable and reversing their polarity. Not to mention the Sun will be approaching its own solar cycle soon. I can't wait for the Water Wars to begin.
