    I have my 2nd Google interview this week. Data center engineer, hardware and Linux phone screening/interview. I'm a bit anxious, but I'm also a bit burned out because I've been prepping for weeks. I just want to get it over with now lol.

      eon001, interview prep burnout is a real thing, remember a little each day is helpful, but also remember you can always do more, so at some point you have to cut yourself off!

    Dude, I have an interview tomorrow and seriously no one will try to reschedule an interview at Google. I don't know how many candidates you have got which you were referring to at 10:50. Wish me luck, tomorrow is the screening round, and will update this comment if I go forward. Cheers!

    I wouldn't mind contributing to this channel/conversation as I've had 3 interviews with Amazon, one with Facebook and 2 with Google (with a 3rd one pending(. But this was for the Data Center space, It seems the requirements are quite different.

    Great collab, Jeff and Stephen!
    What is your view between 1 vs 2 page Resumes? Also, how crucial is it to hit every single item on the Responsibilities and Requirements section? It makes CVs really long and it’s a struggle to keep it to one page without it looking too wordy.
    Is it better to have a 2 page CV but have all the relevant experience on there? I’m a huge fan of outcomes-focused CVs, but they usually end up take two whole rows of text, making your CV look really wordy

    • @jeffhsipepi
      @jeffhsipepi Před 3 lety +9

      Jessica, your resume can definitely be two pages. You want to include the roles/responsibilities and your accomplishments, but you do not need to include every item, just the most important ones. I hope this helps!

    Possibly a stupid question here, but one I find people wondering all the time...
    ---Is it ok to change your job title on your CV to best reflect your day to day job?
    i.e. I'm a Business Analyst, but I do Product Manager responsibilities 90% of the time.
    Note: I can't transition to a PM role yet due to hiring freeze, but have an agreement with my superiors with regards to my responsibilities.

      Johann, I agree with Stephen on this one!. Also, remember the importance of the bulleted summary! This comes before your job title and is where you can already start to show off your strong product skills. Good luck!

    • @jeffhsipepi
      @jeffhsipepi Před 3 lety +3

      eon001, agreed, but candidates often times do not recognize that Recruiters are a part of the process, so it happens more often than it should!

  • @cliosight
    @cliosight Před 2 lety +1

    This video is a little scary. If a recruiter has so much authority then bad jealous managers from past companies can use them to prevent an interviewee from getting an offer from Google or other good company.
