We all would be talking to ourselves out loud if we are stuck in a similar situation like this hysterical woman. For the purpose of this storyline, she is alone and so basically the narration, although we can hear it out loud, she was only thinking loud in her head. I like this kind of subdued ghost stories but the maid was a major plot hole in this story. Granted, she knows the house like the back of her hand but there was no way that ghost boy could have manipulated the dolls and the door closing by itself, and the music box without any sound.
I think the only thing that was caused by the ghosts was when they cut her throat and when they stood in the corner Everything else was the maid In terms of a more psychological ghost story, I strongly recommend the novel Dark Matter by Michelle Paver It has the same style as this with a lone protagonist and their own narration

I love this kind of thing. It's a treasure, but the constant ads are ridiculous. Really spoiled my enjoyment, I'm afraid. It ruins the suspense and feels unnecessary. Thanks for posting such a gem but pity about the ads.

As other mentioned, the actress is not talking to herself but voicing her thoughts as a monologue for the audience to know what she is thinking.
