Cholera was first discovered in the Ganges delta in India and is caused by the bacteria vibrio cholerae. The disease has been around since ancient times with multiple pandemics starting in 1817.
There are more than 200 strains of V. cholerae, but only two are known to cause Cholera: O1 which is responsible for most of the recent outbreaks, and O139 which is linked to more isolated cases.
So how exactly does the bacteria spread?
We sit down with Dr. Anita Zaidi to find out more about cholera’s past, present, and future and what we can learn from the seven cholera pandemics that have occurred in the last 200 years. Watch to find out more!

As a biologist and researcher, I think research on cholera is more relevant than ever due to the repeated emergence of new strains. Similar to animals, also bacteria (like vibrio cholerae) or viruses (like the influenza virus) constantly evolve through changes in their genetic code. These changes can make the pathogen more persistent, help them to escape the immune system or worsen or weaken the disease. In the past, this has led to severe pandemics (I just made a video explaining how the influenza virus evolves). Luckily, many researchers work eagerly and oversee changes in these pathogens!

Since Cholera is also part of the fecal-oral route, I have noticed that due to the amount of people getting sick with Cholera, with also description of The Story of Cholera video, it must’ve spread since they didn’t have toilets and even if they did, the germs got to the water which made people sick

❤️ preventive help with coronavirus. Speak quietly out loud or in normal voice "God, please make my health perfect and completely free from harmful virus. Thank you." Repeat every 1-2 hours (8-16 times a day) as long as the pandemic lasts and until a safe vaccine or other cure is available. God is love. This helps. No cost. www.howtocallongodforhelp.com Healing can happen on different levels. We're not just physical beings. Consciousness, thought, and prayer is not well understood. We all have a name. Yet science can't identify our name by any chemical or physical markers through careful examination of the human body. Healing is both mind and body. "A problem exists today regarding some know how to call on God for help while others do not. This loving help is available to all of us regardless of moral character, religious views, and personal beliefs. God does not punish and helps anyone asking correctly. God is love." Follow CDC guidelines www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html and Dr. Fauci's recommendations. Social distancing helps prevent infected droplets, splatter, and aerosol particles from entering the lungs. Reducing viral concentration will give the body better odds at handling infection. First line workers are at high risk because of continuous exposure to the virus, thus greater susceptibility to Covid19. "While fever, cough and shortness of breath have characterized the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its list of common symptoms in late April to include a new loss of smell or taste." Look into foods high in Vitamin C (avoid harmful synthetic Vitamin C supplements), Vitamin D (20 minutes daily sunlight or supplement), and zinc. Please share. Thank you. ❤️

Cholera is not a problem in countries where everyone has clean drinking water and access to basic healthcare. It doesn't spread through standing next to each other. The flue is far less deadly than corona and we have vaccines against it. Corona is dangerous because it's transmitted very easily and has, compared to similar diseases, high risk of causing death or permanent physical damage, and because we have neither a vaccine nor a treatment that works for everyone.

They should give out free vaccinations to poor people, ok, i can clearly see why, but how is that preventing the overpopulation that will occur, at least medium term and the increased poverty, that most likely will come along with it, if we do so? Isn't that solution just perpetuating the state of dependancy for these people? I wouldn't want anyone to get sick, so don't strawman me on this, but it seems to me, like this first step isn't the full answer to the problem and all possible second steps, that i could think of, seem even more dystopian, than the current state. Could anyone lighten up my optimism on the topic? I'ld appreciate it.

I also wouln't want any gender in a state of absolute dependancy, even more, because they have no way to sustain themselfs on their own, due to overpopulation. Not to mention the degeneration of moral values, that comes along with the devaluation of the individual. This effect can be observed whenever you have way more people needed in a society, for said society to work, seemingly regardless of culture. I'm even worried about us, when the next step of automatization, alongside the constant waves of migrants and illegals, hits. Think Victorian England...
