    I am loving my Backhoe. Not cheap but glad i went ahead and went that direction

    Very small place, usually remove my loader to mow. BX, built a 165# grapple from steel and sorted the hydraulics. Just got it out today and moved a log pile. Recently got a 16’ utility trailer that I modified for aggregate and tractor transport. Luckily my buddy neighbor has a chipper, and brings it as needed. My small property is pretty finished, but a new box blade has been helpful. Always nice to see applications and implements.

    1. Offset articulating flail mower (does it all). 2. Pallet Forks. 3. Grapple. Honorable mentions, stump bucket and rototiller. 🚜 5 acres (2 acres wooded)

      Definitely a solid list. I’m almost a toss up between backhoe and grapple. I’ve accomplished some vital projects with both! 👊

    Always enjoy team ups, You both really present well. Good topics and banter. I know you guys had fun making it, we enjoyed watching it too. I like the add a grapple first , backhoe is second for me, then chipper for all the windblown doug fir limbs. The grapple was a complete game changer for my 66 year old back. It keeps me on the tractor and from bending over and picking up manually. 1.5 acres in the pacific northwest. Other things to consider that is non tractor is a dump trailer. I wish I would of bought one 30 years ago.

      You’re at least the 4th comment voting grapple first. I can’t argue, it’s super handy!

  • @rockandrattleretreat5830

    Grapple is my #1. A brush hog would get destroyed up here due to all the rocks we have. #2 backhoe #3 would be the chipper/shredder.

      I can see a case for that. For me, the grapple is the perfect support tool for the other implements I use.

    Good morning Lucas and Brad. I just have a little postage stamp of property in the mountains of North Central Pennsylvania but we live on a quarter mile private road that I maintain myself. My top 3 attachments for my tractor was a landscape rake, then a box blade, and a set of bolt on pallet forks. For all I use the pallet forks the bolt on ones do me just fine. And because I'm getting a little long in the tooth I did get a tiller for my tractor. I bought my tractor used with 400 hrs on it. It came with a loader, backhoe, and belly mower. I don't think that the loader or backhoe had ever been used. But those are my favorites. I just thought that I'd throw my two cents in. God bless and have a wonderful day. 👍👍🙂 Oh, I almost forgot, my Harbor Freight quick hitch. 👍🙂

      Thanks for sharing! I enjoy hearing how everyone uses their tractor differently. I think I use my loader every single day! 😂🤣👊

    My current favorite implements are Grapple, Brush Cutter, and Stump Grinder, but I would love to get a wood chipper (still using brush piles - some I left because I now have rabbits making them home). The dump trailer is super nice too. As y'all said, it all depends on your needs. If the loader (with a quick attach) is considered an implement, then that would definitely be my #1 attachment, but as you said, it is a MUST! The bucket is really handy, especially with a tooth bar, but like my box blade, it really doesn't get used nearly as much as my other implements around my property. That doesn't mean I don't find them extremely handy. Thanks for the video.

    I actually usen the HD rock rake on the roads more than the box blade, you should think about putting in angled water bars on your hill. Until I did I was constantly chasing the road to the next county with heavy rains. I have the backhoe and it is invaluable for so many projects. Most used is the bush hog but people need to spend the $$ and get a very heavy duty deck gauge. The box store versions will tear up quickly.

    • @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead
      @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead  Před 22 dny +1

      I actually did make water bars and they have made a huge difference! I still have to work it occasionally, but it’s a lot more stable now.

      @@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead , cool, I also added an orange cone off the road on each bar so at night or to new drivers, we can tell where the water bars are.
