@@DMaria216 hardly he was trying to be better in his own way maybe things would have been different if she had let him in, she wasn’t protecting herself she was hurting him, which was eventually shown when they began dating where again he tried to be there even if it meant throwing away his sobriety he did it for her, and she reciprocated that by sending him spiraling he ruined himself after she broke him. Before she said she wanted him despite his broken parts and then showed she didn’t mean it he was willing to try for her but she couldn’t for him

And yet House hadn't really changed and had only done the 45 mins of clinic duty to wrangle an invite.
I really wonder what House would have gotten up to after Wilson got euthanized by House at the end of their 'road trip' and House was left sitting around with a fake ID, no chance of a medical career, and no surviving close friends or occupation.
Lucas might be intended as the villain standing in between Cuddy and House but he seems like a good guy. I mean House broke into his... house.. and drank his liquor and he didn't get mad at all. He showed concern for House and even let him sleep on his couch as opposed to driving home drunk.
Frankly, had House NOT woken up to how he feels about Cuddy and made such strong plays for her...she might have built a real relationship with Lucas. And I feel that Lucas would have been good for her. He genuinely cared for Rachel and wanted to be there for Cuddy both as her dude but also a father figure to Rachel. House...does NOT check a LOT of those boxes!!!

Yea this was unnecessarily cruel. She should just told him straight up instead of House going to the address and expecting her to be there. That would be humiliating for anyone.
@@miranda13c Especially the housekeeper then offering a turkey sandwich 'cos she was expecting you and was told to. It's like a second hammer blow to the emotions, not only are you left humiliated, angry and upset, but now there's someone there to see it first hand and report back to Cuddy that you showed up, even if the housekeeper doesn't realise it's a trick and thinks House was just coming to pick a case file up or something so Cuddy had told her to expect him. It gives you no time to get your bearings and take a few minutes to recover, as now you have to put a brave face on things and pretend everything's fine, either stay for the sandwich or make your excuses and leave quickly. All in all, it's just downright cruel.
I LOVE the dull, grey, and sad colors where House is in the empty house, and the vibrant, bright colors where Cuddy is in Hawaii.
They weren't in Hawaii. House went to lucas that very night. Unless they went for 1 day it doesnt make sense

There's absolutely no reason to surmise from what the show, in its entirety presented, that he didn't have the same maladapted, negative, and toxic personality and outlook on life, since he was a young'un. No, I simply don't believe that House could have replaced Scrooge in a Christmas Carol, as there wasn't a sympathetic lad that Christmas Past could have taken him back to revisit.
House is the most abrasive, manipulative, disruptive, judgmental, confrontational person to ever have sitting at any dinner, leave alone Thanksgiving dinner. House is the reason that he's ALONE! Cuddy was always acting out of self-preservation. And she foolishly tried to have a relationship with House, only to see with her own eyes that he cannot change who he is at his core. Yeah, it was sh*tty of her to date House and dump him, but House is a blind bull hopped up on crystal meth in glass house full of irreplaceable antiques!

Omfg House showing up to the empty place and then the house sitter telling him that she was told to offer him a turkey sandwich just made me cry for him 💔😭 That was cold! 🥶 I don’t think that House deserved that, in this instance, at least. I know that he can be a real jerk but he wasn’t here, which just makes this heart breaking 💔 He was really trying for Cuddy😭
Also, this wasn’t just any dinner get together that she tricked him out of, it was Thanksgiving*** 💔
I was really close to my sister's first husband. We'd hung out together, gone to 2 or 3 movies a weekend; he'd got me drunk at a strip bar on my 18th birthday... we went down the Illinois river twice in two different States... I felt closer to him than my actual brothers.
When they got divorced, my sister told me that she know how close we were, and that she was okay with us continuing our friendship, so I didn't have to worry about any loyalty to her.
So when I got the chance, I suggested to my ex-bro-in-law that we go do something sometime...
His reply was, "I only hung out with you because I was married to your sister".
This clip makes me relive the feeling I had at that moment.
I don't think he meant that. The way he said it suggests he wanted to stab you even though he didn't really have any valid reason. People are not that cruel by default. Perhaps it was some sort of payback on your sis - you know, if you want to hurt someone, go after his family. What a sad little man. I wouldn't bother if I were you. The only reason he said that was to hit the enemy you've become as a family member of his ex.
Maybe your Sister asked him to say this to you so that you could make a decision between the two and make things easier for your sister... As a last favour.... Maybe both were looking out for you....
I think if the world is not so good then its not too bad either.... Hope is all we have....

I like throughout the show that everytime House thinks he has found someone and can actually become a happier person... The rug gets ripped out from under him. From when Stacy acted as his proxy against his wishes and when Cuddie broke up with him and moved on in less then a month. And this scene here. Yes I understand that house really seemed ready to ruin their thanksgiving‚ but can we be honest‚ House just wanted to try and be better. And yeah you can say "uh well that's not really confirmed blah blah blah." But the look on his face when he rounds out he was duped is enough to tell me that he was looking forward to the dinner for once...
God dammit. This scene has made me cry twice since Thanksgiving. I wasn't invited, even by family. I get it, of course but... It still hurts. Hope you all had/have a happy holiday.

The most powerful moment for me is when House looks into Lucas’s eyes and genuinely admits to loving Cuddy. The look in Laurie’s eyes is so deep, it truly reveals House’s emotions. It’s moments like this where he lets down his barriers and lets it all out - we get a glimpse of his emotional pain, pain which he defines himself by
Showing up to a empty house. After being invited. Wow, that's cold. And, on a holiday no less. That's why you should never expect to much from others. That way when you get disappointed by someone, it doesn't hit you as hard because you expected it.
For those struggling during the holidays who probably don't have a living relative or we're not invited to any event just know that there are a lot of people on the same boat with you and if they could they would invite you to their Thanksgiving

I can definitely relate.
It isn't fun. Just sort of leaves you...there. Existing. Questioning everything you did, wondering if "this" or "that" was the "reason", but never getting the answer. Stuck in limbo, everyone telling you to move on when you're not sure where "on" even is.

Just a small reminder (if I remember the context of this episode), House wanted to go to Thanksgiving dinner with Cuddy to break her and her then boyfriend Lucas up in a shitshow that he is known for doing. Don't get me wrong it was depressing for him to be alone in the end, but he had bad intentions from the start.

House honestly I think he lashes out because he's insecure...I used to do it when I was in elementary school because I was insecure...I felt like I wasn't important. I relate to him in some ways..

lol people blaming cuddy clearly didnt watch the entire episode, because house makes clear that his intentions were to make a shitshow between cuddy and lucas to try and break their relationship. Lucas deserved Cuddy so much. House's ability to save lives was the premise to her loving him, but in the end, he turned out to be the guy who crashed his car into her livingroom.
