It's definitely easier to recognize the skill gap between the two players. What Charlie played on the original was technically harder to do on a fiddle, but most people wouldn't know that. Here? They sound about even until 4:54 when Johnny becomes the Waco Kid of guitar playing.
I like both versions the Charlie Daniels Band and the metal cover but still think the metal version is better it needed that extra boost which the metal version delivers on point.
When it comes to covers of this song this one is by far the most superior. Don't know what Korn was thinking but they were way too slow when it came to the rhythm.

@@buckberthod5007 childs play my good fellow, dont get me wrong i love me some angus, randy and van halen, heck angus is the one who inspired me to pick up a guitar 8 years ago (cheap acoustic, i couldnt play anything XD) but then i listened to pantera and dimebag, sheeeeesh he blew my mind! i instantly picked up my guitar again it only had one string, i started doing bass tabs because a lot of the stuff i was into at the time (system of the down) was easy to play on one string, fast forward 2 months, i have a cheap electric guitar and im learning how to play system of a down, intros to songs the whole shebang, then fast forward to christmas of 2022 and i get a bass, and i was playing primus, metallica all sorts of the things on it, then fast forward to march 2023 and i get an ibanez guitar with a ton of mods from my uncle, (with all the mods it would be over 2000 bucks) and im playing at 300 BPM playing a ton of metallica songs, pantera, i even can play the domination solo, both of em' and well, that all wouldn't have been possible with out me hearing pantera, so moral of my guitar career, dimebag inspired me and in my eyes is the greatest guitar player to grace us on the earth, but like i said, jimi, van halen, angus, and randy all got me on the right track to learn the stuff, thank you for reading my TEDtalk, i wish you a great day
