    Hi! Thinking of applying to ASU (specifically Barrett) in the fall. Due to COVID, however, it's likely that I won't get the chance to see the campus in person. I was wondering what your ACT/SAT and GPA were to be accepted into Barrett and essentially how competitive it is to be accepted into the Honors College.

    • @maceysierka
      @maceysierka  Před 3 lety +6

      Hi! There’s no minimum ACT, SAT, or GPA to get accepted into Barrett. The competitiveness varies from year to year, but it gets more competitive as each deadline passes, so it’s best to apply by the first deadline!

      @maceysierka  Před 4 lety +19

      Hi!! ASU has a high acceptance rate so I don't have too many tips about getting admitted, but definitely still work hard to have a high GPA/ACT/SAT score because those determine the amount of scholarship money you would get! Here is a link to a scholarship estimator: scholarships.asu.edu/estimator. Once you decide on ASU, one tip I have is to choose your dorm/roommate(s) as early as possible and be sure to take a tour of ASU if you can!!

      @craigspencer2826 Před 4 lety

      I’ve been in Barrett for 2 years now. If you can afford it I’d say it’s worth it purely for the better dorm life. In Barrett you’ll meet people from a bunch of different majors, where as in the engineering dorms most people are pretty similar. (As a CS major I can tell you Barrett is worth it just so your college experience isn’t a sausage party lol). Barrett isn’t really that hard and I’m way ahead on my honors credits. That being said I’ll likely be dropping Barrett for my last 2 years purely for financial reasons, cause Barrett is expensive af. ($1000 per semester + cost of random books for human event). Plus the benefits of Barrett drop off hard after sophomore year. In short I’d say do it but don’t feel like you need to stick with Barrett if you don’t have the dough.

    • @maceysierka
      @maceysierka  Před 4 lety +1

      It is required to live on campus for the first two years at ASU if you are in Barrett. Honors students usually live in the dorms freshman year and then the Vista del Sol apartments sophomore year! The cost of having your car on campus varies depending on the parking lot that you get a permit for. I couldn't find any updated information on what the prices will be for the upcoming year, but in the past they've been from $210-$780!
