My favorite introductions to the area within a video game are Columbia here, and Rapture in the first game. Bioshock does a great job of making the player feel like we're really there, and the part where Booker and Elizabeth are falling makes me feel like I'm falling with them. I hope the Netflix Bioshock movie does the same thing making it feel like we're really there

First of all,, the "Siren" was not a ghost, she was forcefully half-pulled into existence through a tear and half-created through Elizabeth's ability to "wish fulfill" things into reality (foreshadowing how powerful Elizabeth really is without the main siphon in the Tower) via a minature siphon in the grave, and they literally explain ALL of that in the game. Secondly, that was such a small part in the overall game that it's laughable it ruined the *entire* experience for you, but whatever, lol. Sorry to hear you didn't pay even the most basic attention to the plot and then got upset that you didn't get it and then blamed the entire game for that 💀

Well to be fair like 99% of Elizabeth’s body mass is concentrated in her chest so by my calculations the rest of her would be fairly lightweight and therefore would result in an exponentially slower fall than the average sized American citizen 🤓

I know that some people don't like more cinematic games but honestly I love them. But you can never really get the same feeling as playing it the first time. I remember going through the clouds at the start and was just amazed.
Good. This game was development hell for the people who made it. The industry learned you can’t have guys like Ken Levine running a multi-million dollar project and scrapping months of back-breaking work because he’s “not happy with it.” The final product is miraculous when you learn of the toll the crunch took on Irrational’s employees’ lives, but still remains underwhelming when compared to the earlier versions that were displayed in those trailers. To this day, I would still give anything to play that version of Bioshock Infinite from that second trailer.
agreed. I feel the same about the game that was advertised to us initially versus how it ended up. It’s not awful, just not what it could have been. And the final boss fight sucks.

It’s so refreshing to play a linear story game with a strict set of tools and rules sometimes .. I love me some open world games but I think devs nowadays have forgotten how to really tell a story in a video game.. nowadays it’s just gameplay & cut scenes and they’re both mutually exclusive for the most part, here’s a giant open world go our n find stuff to upgrade ur gear and we’ll progress the story through cut scenes .. in the bioshock games the story progresses as rhe gameplay does and vice verse, ur constantly moving forward and no space or time is wasted.. they just don’t make games like this anymore

1. The game was massively downgraded from what was first shown. 2. To say no other game can compare to the visual beauty of this game is just pure ignorance. 3. The gameplay was indeed good, but weapons being limited to 2 sucked ass, also a lot of the weapons were garbage. 4. Vigor combinations are almost entirely useless in actual gameplay, and is more for casual players to use and go "oooo pretty colors". Bioshock Infinite was great. Nowhere near as good as you make it out to be though.

I remember i couldn't play the third installment at launch because I missed the save-anywhere feature of the previous games (and to note, most open worlds have that save feature). They changed it to an autosave, which I hated because I couldn't explore thoroughly nor could I experiment because it would take me too far back thus making me redo everything I had done. Now that I'm older and have less time to fool around perhaps I should give this game a second look. Bioshock is one of my favorite series after all, and I'm feeling nostalgic to play it again.
That makes sense, but also Bioshock Infinite is not an open world game. It allows you to roam each section of game play, but it's more linear than the last two games.

Just recently started getting into first person video games. Picked up all three bioshock games for the switch for $10.00 figured I couldn’t go wrong for that price. I usually play on the ps5 but I figured what the hell. I’m super stoked to play bioshock remastered. I know nothing at all about these games except for the fact that people love them so I’m hoping for a great adventure!

I feel that Bioshock is the overall better game of the three, the atmosphere of Rapture is unbelievable. But Bioshock Infinite has one of the best stories in gaming, it’s in that tier with TLOU part 1.
I bought my daughter the bioshock collection for switch this year, she loved them and finished them all. She was only 1 year old when infinite came out originally lol.
The tragedy of this game is the keybinds. Somehow we got passable keybinds in Bioshock 1, about the same or worse in 2, and then they just went out the window in 3.
I mean, is not like they used to make them like that before either 😂 Bioshock has always stood on its own when it comes to presentation. Bioshock 1 and Infinite have the best intros and settings in gaming, change my mind 👌🏻

Art direction matters, and I believe art direction like this stands the test of time far better than most games that push for realism. The Bioshock trilogy, LoZ Windwaker, Dishonored series, and the gorgeous Prince of Persia 2008 are perfect examples of this. I always forget how long ago Bioshock Infinite was released, almost 11 years now, and it still looks better than so many games since.

Art direction matters, and I believe art direction like this stands the test of time far better than most games that push for realism. The Bioshock trilogy, LoZ Windwaker, Dishonored series, and the gorgeous Prince of Persia 2008 are perfect examples of this.
I always forget how long ago Bioshock Infinite was released, almost 11 years now, and it still looks better than so many games since.
