  • In this motorcycle helmet review and unboxing video we take a closer look at the all-new Shoei J-Cruise II. The Shoei J-Cruise 2 is an open face helmet aimed at tour riders, but the helmet can be used on almost every bike due to its versatility. The renowned Japanese helmet manufacturer has added a few new interesting features to this new incarnation of the J-Cruise series.
    One of the new features is the completely redesigned ventilation system with three inlets on top. The new J-Cruise 2 helmet lets in up to 30% more cool air than its predecessor, and that is a lot! The sun visor has also been redesigned, popping out 5mm more than the sun visor of the original Shoei J-Cruise. In this video we discuss all of the new features of this top-of-the-bill motorcycle helmet.
    The Shoei J-Cruise 2 is expected to start shipping in early 2020. The helmet is eligible for the Shoei Personal Fitting System, which gives us the ability to custom fit your helmet to your head. Read more on the SPFS here: www.fortamoto.com/brands/shoe...

    You mentioned that the wind won’t come in to the face area due to the improved visor with the double lip edge.
    Is that gonna be better than the older version or is it the exact same visor?
    Thanks!

      The base plates of the helmets (in which the visor is attached) have changed, but the visor itself hasn't.

      Cheers! Yeah, pretty much. For anybody who wants to feel a bit more wind in their face, and ride free with a lighter helmet.

    Shoei should have a Cardo Packtalk option for blue tooth comms!

      It's possible to install a Cardo system instead, just takes a bit more effort than the SRL system.

    What's the main benefit of a "open face" type helmet like this? Better visibility?

    • @FortaMoto
      @FortaMoto  Před 3 lety

      Yeah, viewing angles are great. It's also pleasant that open face helmets weigh less than modular/full face helmets, and it can be a big relief for people with claustrophobic issues. At the end of the day, a full face helmet will still be safer, though.

    After a year of owning this helmet all I can say is “please please go back to the original” the original j Cruze was perfect. Just to accommodate SENA they made it far from perfect. The visor always comes down smudged now…. Instead of amazing venting on the top of your head it’s now barely vents at all.
    Ruined it if you ask me !
