“… This was accompanied by a type of auditory hallucination that tormented me for months on end, day and night, even while I was asleep. I started to hear a recurrent musical phrase a few bars long, violently rhythmical and rising in pitch. It was based on a chord of a diminished seventh. In the cold light of day I tried to work out what it meant, even though the torment was permanent, even telling myself that such a phenomenon might be of interest to medical science. But try telling doctors about chords of a diminished seventh! Sometimes I would lie awake all night trying to work out what I was hearing - I wasn’t hearing it, but just thought I was - or to work out its pitch. I was forever trying to identify the notes and these primitive harmonies and to correct them, as it was the most frightful nonsense - ta raaa ra riii ri rii - going through my head in every conceivable key. I finally realized that it was a kind of variant of a relatively modest work built on rudimentary harmonic steps and one, oddly enough, that had had a great effect on me as a child: it was Rachmaninov’s Vocalise. It was this that had been the unconscious model of some of my own early compositions. “

Having lugnasky accompanying you on piano is any soloist dream
Or having capucon as the person u r accompanying
HOW CAN YOU COUGH AT THE VERY LAST NOTE OF THIS MARVELOUS PERFORMANCE???
Indeed, unbelievable!!🤦♀️😭
I think some people do it on purpose! I've been to concerts were some knob starts hysterically applauding before the last note has had a chance to fade away.
Wdym 😮
People are.stupid
capslock doesn't make your pearl clutching faux indignation any less laughable, sister
He played it faster than I expected, but absolutely gorgeous playing! The notes themselves aren’t what’s hard, but his musicality and the emotion he can channel through his playing is beyond impressive!!
A unique ability to materialize what is spiritual and to spiritualize what is material. Listening to it allows one to fully understand the dual exquisite nature of music.
Brother Radcliffe, I congratulate and salute you. A fine wordsmith you are!

Simplemente. Divino. solo Dios. concede el talento ❤
Capucon playing this piece makes me tear up. I love how quietly and meekly he starts the piece. Its so beautiful.
Cello and piano is the best combo and in addition Vocalise is one of the best pieces, it is pure mastery and art.
Such an aesthetic experience! Vocalise is a perfect example of high and late Romanticism, and conveys a sense of sadness and yearning to me. Just perfect Rachmaninoff.
An aesthetic experience for all our senses as Gautier Capuçon is hot as hell as well.
@@creativecolours2022bruh, who cares what the performers looks like
@@The_Guy_Who_Asked_06 You've missed the joke...Or better say you took it literally.

Fabuleuse réunion de deux grands interprètes réunis pour cette si célèbre Vocalise !

Capucon makes magic! The simplest details become poetic.
A Gentleman in Moscow brought me to this song.

A well timed sneeze at the end fermata.
I hear the longing to communicate in Rachmaninoff. I hear the piano concertos as a conversation between the orchestra and the piano. Sometimes he sounds so overwhelmed with the need to communicate that he trips over his feelings. He comes to the point as if between two people the limits of expression have been exhausted. How does one communicate sadness even with words? How do you express your loneliness to the other unless the other has also felt the same as you?
You just captured its worldly essence!
Visti in concerto recentemente a Firenze. Interpretazione memorabile.
아름답다. 그 밖의 단어는 떠오르지 않는다.
I just heard that Ruth Bader Ginzburg has passed away. This music is so fitting for this very sad moment. May she rest in peace. Thank you RGB for all you have done for your country.
❤
아 들으면 들을수록 마지막 기침 진짜 짜증나네 쫌만 참았다가 하면 될것을
이런 훌륭한 연주의 소중한 마지막음에서 이어지는 감동적인 여운을 확 깨버리네
하 짜증난다
Yeap, I cried, like I knew I would.
🎶💖⚘🎶💖⚘🎶
Try the Maisky version. Much as I usually love Capucon I found this not all that great at all.
Маэстро трепетно выводит последний звук, а примат в зале смачно чишет, ставя безкомпромиссную точку в великом произведении.
What strings he has?
lourd

Definitively the original cello sounds way better than the electric cello
There's a great version from yo yo ma recorded during the lockdown 2021.
Окрыляющая
Si poignant...
