Omg, you were at the Grammys? It must’ve been so awesome to see in person. ARMY was blown away bc we had known that they all couldn’t be together (due to quarantine schedule) until right before the performance. So seeing how intricate their stage was….well was mind boggling.
if you want to see choreo I'd recommend maybe starting with their award show performances? mma 2018 and mma 2019 are pretty iconic (though long), though you wouldn't go wrong with any of their mama or mma performances
I don't think? you've seen them dance yet but when they do choreography, they use a backing track with mid volume vocals (there are exceptions where there is no track but this is the norm) and a lot of things like adlibs will get left to the track because it's physically impossible for them to have the breath to both dance high level choreography and sing every single thing in a song when they take the choreography out of a song, they usually keep the same backing track to fill out the sound but they have the freedom to perform vocally how they want -- which sometimes means live adlibs that are completely new or previously left only to the track etc they've been doing this for so long, they're very confident performers and know when they should and shouldn't attempt something and when it's good to play it safe and when it's okay to take risks. very professional, mature, responsible performers really. looking forward to seeing you explore them further!
Idol and Black Swan on Jimmy Fallon for choreo. Absolutely the best. Of course On Kinetic Manifesto Film for MV choreo..oh heck I can't start a list it'll go on for ever!
When it comes to extra vocal layers, BTS also has recorded vocals during live performances. Sometimes they are backing vocals because they have extra support during an intense dance, sometimes they are extra harmonies that remain as a recording, BTS also like very tight lyrics, almost overlapping each other so sometimes they can't sing everything live, sometimes it's probably stylistic choice. However, it is not surprising that the more intense dance in the live performance, the more recorded parts there are from the background. The important thing is that you can see it easily because the guys never pretend to be singing, and they sing great live even during intense cardio and we love it!.
You were spot on with the emotional factor of spring day (I think, I mean to really know you’d have to ask them😅). But Suga’s lyrics were about his friend and RM wrote most of it. He got the idea from seeing leaves fall while walking in the park. But the MV alludes to a national tragedy that claimed the lives of several hundred students. The song hasn’t left the charts since it’s debut in 2017, and it’s definitely an emotional song. If you want good performances to watch I’d recommend the channel “enjoy bts more” they have great quality live performances from their concerts with English subs. Specifically, I would watch their 2016 Japan Epilogue Concert of “Rise of Bangtan” “Baepsae” “No more Dream” and/or “Boyz with Fun”. All are very upbeat more hip hop tracks which would be a new side of them for you. They are also peak chaos. They have choreo in them too. But for their less chaotic performances check out there MMA or MAMA performances which are just flawless and amazing, especially MMA 2019. They do sing live (extremely well) while dancing and you can definitely tell. There are backing tracks to give the songs a fuller feeling as they don’t do as many adlibs and whatnot while dancing. The backing tracks are a lot quieter though than their live vocals so It’s pretty easy to distinguish. loved the reaction💜
Japan Epilogue concert is a great suggestion! It really shows the stage presence, energy and happy chaos combined with choreo that is BTS in concert performance mode. Not to mention, Ghost band is crushing it there.
I think it's incorrect to say Spring Day was dedicated to the Sewol ferry tragedy though the MV has been interpreted as referencing it. BTS haven't spoken very much about it except to say it's about longing, about missing someone.
7:51, that's the only falsetto Jimin sings in Dynamite. It's all head voice and sometimes a nasal mix with more compression. I'm enjoying your discovery journey!
@@Beldvlmnt There was a Japanese Opera singer that was very surprised with his control of volume, timbre and aspiration, specifically in their Fix You Cover where we see him managing his voice into a falsetto. In their Dark & Wild album (2014), there is this song Let me Know, where Jimin reaches A5. You can watch it live at concert (czcams.com/video/LVoDcb6JcbE/video.html) or at a tv show (czcams.com/video/PIKjNauCHzc/video.html). I find the resonance in the space they were in quite helpful when it comes to perceiving each note's enunciation and point of execution. This is just one example, of course. If you want to assess each vocal line member's voice qualities and tonalities, you should listen to House of Cards (from the EP The Most Beautiful Moment in Life pt. 2, 2015) and Truth Untold (from the Love Yourself: Tear album, 2018). But I must say, in the Wembley concert in 2019, the two voices that resonated the most (like rising above all other bacground noise and the sea of screaming ARMYs) were Jimin's and Taehyung's voices. I'm a 1978 born female, so, I've seen my share of amazing rock hard gigs but BTS transcends that, altogether. Likely the best concert of my life.
The final song, Spring Day, has never dropped off Korean charts on the 5 years since its release. This song is very dear to BTS and ARMY. You can't even imagine the depth of emotion behind the song. One day you should explore it. BTS risked a lot releasing song. 💜 For live performances with choreo, I would suggest holding on MMA 2019 until you know their names at the very least. MMA 2016, 2017, 2018 are all very good. Anything on Jimmy Fallon. The 2022 Grammy performance was amazing too. Thanks for the reaction.
Might as well do MMA 2019 for the whole bts experience, it’s long but a great showcase. They really pride themselves on singing live and make a point to do it as much as they can and do it well despite how much choreo they do.
I don't know if he is ready for that one. Maybe he should react to the "Dionysus" Comeback Special Stage. here's the link: czcams.com/video/-moUJ3Lw_TQ/video.html
You were right about spring day having meaning for the boys. It has an MV and to fully understand the meaning there are explanation videos. The best one, I think, is by Italian army. Spring day is considered “the Queen” bc since its release in 2017 it has never fallen off of Korean charts.
Black swan on jimmy fallon maybe? Or Idol. The backing track for On grand station (which has been requested) was a bit louder than you might like, but you can still hear them quite well. They usually do choreo performance with a light backing track and that track was minimal. Sometimes the tracks are a little loud but they’re always singing (and they’re awful at lip singing..)
I like your reaction. Their choice of songs in this Tiny Desk is all for Army, all connect BTS and ARMY, and make me so nostalgic, really touched my heart 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
The original MV for "Save Me" is a one take! It's amazing! One great choreography dance practice they recently released is actually for an older song and the choreo is so damn fast! It's for "Best of Me". If you really want to watch a live performance with killer choreo and vocals... check out their MMA 2019 performance...
I absolutely love your reactions....expressing your feelings and your appreciation of what's in front of you while watching BTS performances! 🙏💜 I'm a 50 year old (really 29 😉) ARMY since 2017, thanks to my 23 year old daughter. We have seen them 2 x and hands down the best concerts I've ever seen, including seeing Whitney Houston, Aerosmith, and Liza Minnelli 😊 Please continue your journey! Ohhhhhhh, the live performance videos with choreography😲😲🤯 So amazing! 💜
I wouldn't read too deeply into Dynamite's lyrics- they didn't write them. It was just a fun song they were given to cheer people up during the pandemic.
Love watching your reaction! I think this set of songs was chosen really carefully to introduce an American audience to a little of their breadth, which is why they started with Dynamite and then brought in older Korean songs. Spring Day is an absolutely heartbreaking song. The MV adds a layer of meaning that I can't forget afterward - check it out (and the explanation) in a day when you're okay with crying. I'm not sure what you've reacted to live yet (I'll go look!) but literally any live performance of On is worth watching. I'm very fond of the Grand Central one. And a lot of their stages at music award ceremonies are just over the top ridiculously good. They use backing tracks when they perform live but they don't lipsynch - there's a joke that it's pretty much the only thing they're bad at - and now and then one of them will deliberately just skip a line to prove it 🤣 they have really stable vocals live and some folks really struggle to believe they're actually singing. JK in particular (orange suit jacket in this one) sounds almost exactly like he does on the studio albums. Overall they really shine live and there's something for everyone in their discography 😁
For a live performance with choreography, may I suggest "Mic Drop" on SNL? Although they used backing tracks, the volume wasn't so loud so you can tell the difference when they were singing live and when they were letting the backing track take over (which is only a line here and there).
Yes, they did mean Save Me as a message to ARMY's. 💜 When they say perform, they mean they haven't done choreography in concert for ARMY's. Spring day was written by RM, and also, this song was dedicated to the SEWOL Ferry Tragedy that happened in South Korea in 2014. This song was released in 2017, and it was a turning point in their career. They really started blowing up in America and were very globally successful. This song was also re-dedicated to ARMY's during the pandemic, for obvious reasons. So this would be emotional for them. But they always put forth feeling and emotion in their music.
Save me I don’t think was a message for Armys lol. It was a single on their hyyh album which was a celebration of youth. So it’s more about young love ❤️
ARMY here thinking: if you knew what Spring Day is actually about. I know you do live music only, but there's a video explaining what Spring Day is about. It's about the Sewol Ferry tragedy. RM (rapper with blue hair here) thought of the melody during one of his nature walks.
You were spot on about experience changing singing. "Everyone is feeling something for these lyrics." This song is a very personal one for Bts and every Korean citizen, or rather everyone who was hurt by the Sewol tragedy.
22:37 ohh "SPRING DAY" is a very special song to bts and army. There's so much story behind this song. You'll know someday we call spring day "Queen" cause it never leaves the charts for four years
BTS at the Grammy's 2022 is a must watch! It showcase BTS in their full elements - not just dancing and singing but the whole thoughtful production and theatrics of things which made them the best entertainers of this generation.
Thank you for another fun reaction :) I'll go ahead and shoot my shot for MMA 2019 performance, it's long but if you watch the whole thing we will absolutely watch it with you. One of my favorite songs that doesn't get recommended a lot but has really fun and difficult choreography is Best of Me. I think it's underrated, one of the producers is Andrew from the Chainsmokers so it's got that kind of sound to it fyi.
First, you're right, the second song refers to the ARMYS... and second the last song has a lot of meaning for them because it was written based on personal experiences, it's about the loss of friends ( if I'm not mistaken from SUGA and RM ), but this song is also related to a big tragedy that occurred in South korea... in addition to all this meaning, they brought it as a message of comfort and hope in the middle of the pandemic
The last song is emotional and it has a deep connection This song is dedicated for the national tragedy Seoul fairy incident where Many school kids got sunk in the ship it has an explanation video also this songs' music video is totally dedicated to that national tragedy
22:30 I have never seen bts perform a single song without emotions. They literally perform it is like a musical, every time they act and perform and evoke emotions through each song. And it is much easier for them as they write most of their lyrics and melodies, and do production (they have other producers sure, bit still) so the messages come from their heart.
You're right about the 3rd song.it has a very meaningful impact. I always tear up when i hear this song. Know that this song is on top of BTS songs and is called The Queen for everything that it stood for. Its deeper than you can imagine
love your reaction! any MMA ou MAMA performance would be great, but specially 2018 and 2019! they are kinda long but army would watch hours of reaction to our boys, trust me 😅
As many people mentioned already, they do use some backing tracks in their performances, specially the ones with choreography. It's really important to keep in mind that when it comes to bts (or kpop in general) the dancing is just as important as the singing, some of them actually joined the group just for their dancing skills and learn/improved their singing later. So you shouldn't be surprised if sometimes they prioritize the choreo over the singing :) Great reaction, looking forward to more💜
16:08 oh, bts are great in any genre, literally, they take genre and make it their own. And oh, believe me ,there are a lot of people that envious of their talent and how they fir and flow as a group seamlessly. They really cover all bases and do it as you said, without trying outshine eachother on the song and having sincere loving relationship between eachother which os also envy of many
Live performance? I would go with their mma /mama performances, especially 2018-2019 its just mind blowing. Its pretty long video but you know, Army love long video, and we will watch till the end
Thank you!!! Exactly agree with you that they can cover a lot of ground with 7. They have incredible synergy as a group and the mix of rappers and singers gives them a lot room to do different things. Their discography is very diverse. This Tiny Desk was performed in 2020 during the height of the pandemic and a few months after their world tour was canceled. It was a very hard time for everyone. Thank you for your reaction
“They can cover it all” nothing truer than that and it means so mich in many ways. Suga’s words “Thank God there’s seven of us” means so much, whether you’re after hip hop, ballad, even trot -there is someone who can fill that. Even among themselves if you are looking for a friend who is quiet, sunny or just need someone to hype you up the variety is there too.
By the way purple is Army and BTS color it means we trust you and love you in case u wonder about the purple hearts 💜💜💜💜😂 bzlcz ur reaction is amazing and you are going to get a lot of these 💜
As many have already suggested, MMA 2019- full 38 minute award show performance. It doesn’t get better than that (by any artist). I’m enjoying your reactions and look forward to seeing more!
loved your reaction to them so far thank you for reacting to them AND educating us, i reccomend you react to the original music + a live performance of it together so you could see the changes they make in the song and stuff like that. it's a fact btw ARMYs now that BTS sound even better live, also you could see their amazing choreos while they still sing live
So for pure amazing vocals live I would recommend “ your eyes tell” ….but I think u are due to see them dance as well…I’d recommend both “On” and “black swan” because they both have choreo and beautiful vocals& lyrics but are so so different you’d think it was two different groups. 💜💜💜
Specific recommendations to see what they can do, focusing on live performances: On @ Grand Central Terminal Butter @ the Grammy's MMA stage performances (2018 is iconic) MMA 2020, recorded live for a digital audience (I love the dance opening but mostly I love this one because Suga was recovering from surgery and they left his space empty) Any live of Born Singer destroys me but especially watching them one after another to see how they've grown and changed There are some solo vocal performances that are amazing - Jimin's Serendipity and Filter, Jungkook's Euphoria, Jin's Epiphany, V's Stigma all stand out to me personally. I don't spend as much time with the rap line's lives. If you want to look at music videos Black Swan is a work of art and I really love Suga's solo song (as Agust D) Daechwita. I think you'd find that one fascinating. Everyone will have different favorites to suggest. As long as you come in with an open mind, you'll find a lot to enjoy 😁 In particular, I think you've already picked up on the fact that they highlight each member's unique abilities instead of trying to be homogeneous. Every one of them is incredibly good at what they do 😁
About Spring Day. While lyrics of this song is about personal experience of some of the members (like, Suga's verse dedicated to his friend who went to jail, if I'm not mistaken), the lyrics in general are about loss and grief, but also about hope and comfort. And music video for this song is about the national tragedy when a lot of children died and government did nothing to save them or help their families. But without a context I thought it about suicide or loss of the loved ones in general. And I think this is partly true, 'cause their videos are free to interpretation and if you find explanation that brings you comfort so that's it. And of course it's became a pandemic song too.
Two amazing and completely contrasting pieces of choreography are Black Swan and ON, from the Map of the Soul:7 album. The music videos to watch would be Black Swan Official mv and ON: Kinetic Manifesto. There are also live performances… Black Swan on James Corden and ON from Grand Central Station on Jimmy Fallon. I’d actually recommend watching both the mv and the live in each case. The mv versions were actually filmed just a few days apart in early 2020, immediately before Covid hit, on a trip to LA (very different locations, the ornate Los Angeles Theatre and the Sepulveda Dam spillway). The songs themselves are a thematic pair… Black Swan followed by ON.
I recommend BTS Best Dance Breaks lol so you can see the wide variety of dance styles they cover and just how much work they put into each and every choreography
29:30 - * cracks knuckles * So I hear you're curious about some of their best choreographies. No problem! Here are some of my faves: * "Danger" Dance Practice * - czcams.com/video/bs8SfZdb4us/video.html * "Run" Dance Practice * - czcams.com/video/9S3ZhJGv8JM/video.html * "Baepsae" Dance Practice * - czcams.com/video/V1i_x2_TGE0/video.html * "Mic Drop" - 2017 MAMA Dance Break Ver. * - czcams.com/video/eRkpkveBWyo/video.html * "2019 MMA Dionysus Performance" * - czcams.com/video/k-0v1fNVdas/video.html * "2019 MMA Dionysus INTRO Dance Practice" * - czcams.com/video/GYs4bRYZxIA/video.html * "2019 MMA Dionysus Dance Practice" * - czcams.com/video/bccr1BwNI0Y/video.html * "Black Swan" Dance Practice * - czcams.com/video/fTS1jAhWPbw/video.html * "ON" Dance Practice * - czcams.com/video/VkuEzN8IS_o/video.html These are but a handful of their amazing catalogue of amazing dance videos. I hope you find one that strikes your fancy! Thanks for the reaction; this was so informative and fun as always! 💜
Also, I'm not sure if someone has said this already but RM, the one with blue hair, actually speaks fluent English. He's the only one who's completely fluent but by today the rest of them can understand it pretty much and speak it a lot better than they could in the past🙄. Not quite fluent but it's clear they improved much over the years🙂👍🏾💜
With choreo you can react to 1 MAMA awards 2019 BTS performance 2 MAMA 2018 BTS performance 3 baepsae live performance 4 mic drop live performance 5 idol live performance 6 black swan live 7 fire live
I think their best live performance is the one at the MMA 2019 but its pretty long (37 minutes). MMA 2018 (20 minutes) i MMA 2020 (17 minutes) were also very good, but the 2020 one is missing a member as he was recovering from shoulder surgery. The love yourself tour medleys are also amazing! And their performances at the Jimmy Fallon's show too, especially "Idol", "Black Swan" and "ON" (this was recorded at the grand central terminal before the quarantine fell and the others (idol, black swan...) were recorded about a year ago, so they are quite recent). Oh, and their performance at this year's Grammys as well!! (here one of the members was injured so he didn't dance much, but it was still a fantastic performance) (by the way, the MMA is an award show ;))
for a bts live performance with great choerography i'd recommend to you mma 2019!! i think it reeeally showcase their range performance wise. it's kinda long though (roughly 37 mins), but as other comments have probably already said, we'll watch through it with you :) thanks for your reactions, i really like how you provide technical explanations but also try to give examples, it really helps. thanks for liking bts 💜
You should most definitely watch the Spring Day MV and an explanation video. It would be a great itroduction to how deep, philosophical and beautiful Bts' lyrics are.
You notice their emotion while singing this spring day song, Yes this song is a sad song and has a deep meaning specially in korea It's a story of tragic ferry sink and almost 300 students died 😢 I'm sorry I'm not good in english so I suggested you to watch the explanation video about the story of spring day song of BTS💜 thank you 💕
I like the 2015 MAMA Block vs BTS ( and not because of Jimin). It showed their stage charisma and how talented they are. They rap, sing and dance while entrancing everyone. This was early in their journey too.💜💜🤯
If you do see the original of spring day I highly recommend also watching one of the explanation videos for the song and music video. The song is so much deeper than surface value, and has some hidden political subversion lurking in the lyrics that westerners like us wouldn’t understand without someone explaining it to us. But after understanding the true meaning I had to respect BTS even more. By the way, ARMY would probably love to see you react to the explanation video and the music video as much as the live performances. But it’s really up to you what you want to do.
Thank you, I really like your detailed reaction on BTS vocal performance and also on the music production/band. I learned a lot! You will realize as you watch more of their videos that every thing is well thought off. You will learn that when you see their behind the scenes how they really prepare for their performances. The finished product seems all natural but they really worked hard to perfection and do not take anything for granted, just to give a great performance to ARMY. Looking forward to more BTS reaction.
For iconic performances mma 2018 is pretty great. The whole performance is like 15-20 min but if you want something shorter u can just choose to watch them just perform idol. It’s like a 6 min video For choreo on fake love at the bbmas is cool. So is ON on jimmy Fallon. A lot of ppl also like black swan on James corden It’s also pretty cool seeing their concert performances. In their earlier tours they used to tour with their live band which sounded awesome.
Wow! You are awesome man!!! You break it down so well!!! In a very holistic way.....vocals and music and body language expression etc.... By far the best reactor on CZcams 👍👍💥
this band is called Ghost Band and have played with BTS for a very long time....but no longer....everything they have done recently is with a different band/group of musicians.
I suggest their performance during covid so like 2020 i think, of their song 'Idol' from the Jimmy Fallon show as others have. Great way to hear one of their most upbeat in your face songs and see their dancing and choreography at the same time😁👍🏾💜 P.s. hold off on their 2019 MMA performance as well as the other MMA ones since you don't know the guys or the music and performance well enough yet. They're a lot all at once for people who don't know them and all the songs will be ones you dont know😅. Maybe wait until your a few full songs in at least and have watched an introduction. I suggest This is BTS by Xceletse and The Bangtan 7 by Taylor. Watching both of these will do the job of letting you know what the group bts is and stands for plus their achievements. AND give you a run down of all the members and their personalities. Hope to see you react to these soon😁💜😀
Thks and welcome to our rabbit hole… j hope started as a street dancer listening to and inspired by j Cole… He is one of 3 rappers in BTS… there are 4 vocalists.. they are all immensely talented as performers, composers, writers and producers… I would recommend born singer, hip hop lover, outro tear from wembley, run BTS live from Busan… these are all lives and look for videos with English subtitles… For MV’s J hope chicken noodle soup Suga as august d Daechwita Rm joke with English subs On kinetic manifesto Mic drop Fire Blood sweat and tears The catalogue runs over 300 tracks and there are around 75 official MV’s… but this is a good start lol Army loves watching reactors find BTS… we love long videos, don’t mind pauses and rewinds and replays but pls remember to turn on captions… 💜💜💜
Luv ur BTS reactions 💜please do (film out)and (your eyes tell)live by them as well 💜 For the choreo I suggest black swan (btw please watch the live performance of black swan in Jimmy Fallon )they sing it while dancing 💜
No your not wrong about the last SPRING DAY.. coz its really emotional song that's dedicated to the lost souls.. Hundreds of student's who died... their ship sunk on there way for school excursion..
All 4 singers in BTS all bring different things to the table (and even the rappers with sub-vocals occasionally)but as a vocalist you MUST watch the video 'JUNGKOOK: THE MAIN SINGER OF BTS' by Ida S. I don't want to give you any spoilers, just watch an react!💜
Glad you enjoyed BTS's Tiny Desk--it's one of my happy places. For a recommendation, I love the version of "On" from Jimmy Fallon's show. They do it in Grand Central Station, and it's just a HUGE treat for the ears besides being visually stunning! 💜
Not only are BTS supremely talented and can 'do it all', but they are also very disciplined in their musicianship. Notice that everything they do is in service of the song and never for trying to hog the spotlight or stand out individually.
Good choreo choice I think you’d also really enjoy the song with: ON (title track from their 2020 album Map Of The Soul: 7) Tons of options depending what you want: There are two music videos, one is more cinematic, but the “Kinetic Manifesto Film” version was their initial release for the song & is pretty choreo heavy. ON at Grand Central Station for the Tonight Show w/ Jimmy Fallon is an amazing performance but there are also lots of Korean music show performances they did for ON that are on CZcams (M countdown and Music Bank would be what to search for), but also their 2020 MAMA awards performance of ON is also incredible (though they were down one member, who was recovering from surgery!) Enjoying your reactions thus far! Keep up the curiosity, you’ll truly enjoy the road you’re on! 😊
So interesting about body language that you picked up on. I hadn’t noticed that before but it makes sense. I would really encourage you to watch the Spring Day MV, as others have said, it has real depth of meaning and significance regarding the loss of life in the Sewol ferry disaster. Regarding choreography, there will be many suggestions to watch their performances at awards shows like the MMA’s. They are indeed iconic and the 2019 is special with performance of 5 songs, culminating in the spectacular “Dionysius “. You can, of course, cut to the chase and watch that last song and if this isn’t going to be much of a journey for you then you should do that. But actually it might be more interesting to look at those 5 songs in advance of watching that performance and avoid the 2019 MMA til then. Those songs are- Persona, Boy in love, Boy with love, Mikrokosmos and Dionysius. In terms of choreography in live performance outside of that, there’s so much. I’d go with maybe “Fake love” czcams.com/video/df3AuWkaM_A/video.html Or “Mic Drop” because that opening riff is just magic czcams.com/video/oZpG_wGwDxQ/video.html 👌
Once Jimin said he asked their producer (probably PDogg) how he was supposed to hit a note that was high even for him. "Tighten your butthole." Was the answer. 😆 So Jimin stood and demonstrated for us, clenching and bowing his whole body back. Wahhhh! Committed to his art. Lololol😂🤣😂🤣😂
You have to react then to 'ON at the Grand Central Terminal from tonight show with Jimmy fallon!' This is one of their hardest choreography they have and they nail it everytime! Just so you know, they use backing tracks when they perform with choreography, because they have to fill the adlibs they can't do while dancing, but the singing is live. I just tell you this because you look really professional and passionate about singing and music and I saw other 'Singers' accusing them of lypsynch when everyone knows that this is the last thing BTS does and they proofed it thousand of times, so I just don't want you to misunderstand😊 heres the link: czcams.com/video/MZh-w2nysuI/video.html I really enjoy you reactions💜
You’re right about the last song, there is an emotional attachment for BTS and this song. They wrote this song for the loss of 300 kids on the Sewol Ferry accident in Korea several years ago. This song has been on Billboard chart since it happened. Check it out.
😂😂 those sound effects or adlibs, the rap line (especially jhope) likes to make many of those. I really enjoyed listening to bts' musics' background adlibs because those sounds soo fun
BTS are so talented I was blown away after I saw their performance at the Grammys. you can tell they’re very passionate about what they do
R u a fan before grammy performance 💜💜💜
@@horizon4015 I’m not really a fan but I appreciate a good talent when I see one :)
Seriously their latest Grammy performance was great...
Right those are the best 💜
Maybe better start with 2016. More short n also iconic. Jimin n Hobi dance are 💜
2018
Or maybe 2020, its short and good!
MAMA AND MMA
My favorite is 2017
I don't think? you've seen them dance yet but when they do choreography, they use a backing track with mid volume vocals (there are exceptions where there is no track but this is the norm) and a lot of things like adlibs will get left to the track because it's physically impossible for them to have the breath to both dance high level choreography and sing every single thing in a song
when they take the choreography out of a song, they usually keep the same backing track to fill out the sound but they have the freedom to perform vocally how they want -- which sometimes means live adlibs that are completely new or previously left only to the track etc
they've been doing this for so long, they're very confident performers and know when they should and shouldn't attempt something and when it's good to play it safe and when it's okay to take risks. very professional, mature, responsible performers really.
looking forward to seeing you explore them further!
Idol and Black Swan on Jimmy Fallon for choreo. Absolutely the best. Of course On Kinetic Manifesto Film for MV choreo..oh heck I can't start a list it'll go on for ever!

@@butterbuttersbetter3689 i know! I forget which song it is specifically, maybe boyz with fun? But I love when they give each musician a little solo
@@hello-xz8ce yes that was Boyz with Fun🤟
I think it's incorrect to say Spring Day was dedicated to the Sewol ferry tragedy though the MV has been interpreted as referencing it. BTS haven't spoken very much about it except to say it's about longing, about missing someone.
7:51, that's the only falsetto Jimin sings in Dynamite. It's all head voice and sometimes a nasal mix with more compression. I'm enjoying your discovery journey!
Oooh you have my attention listening back
@@Beldvlmnt There was a Japanese Opera singer that was very surprised with his control of volume, timbre and aspiration, specifically in their Fix You Cover where we see him managing his voice into a falsetto.
Recommending 2018 MMA too.
Yes pleaseeeeee
I second that!
I think 2019 has too many callbacks to their old songs. Might be better appreciated later. Plus, all that self indulgent stage setting. Lolol 🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴
Jk the 3rd from the left the one who has rasp in his voice he does adlibs and harmonises also guides in almost every Bts song 💜
I believe the rap line wrote their parts or were highly involved in their lyric direction. One of the producers talked about it
4:57, 12:05 JIMIN has the best vocal levels. His highs are incredibly beautiful, his falsetto is amazing, his raspy voice, growling is hot as him
Love watching your reaction!
Oh I’ll watch it all!! I just have more to add to lives 😁
I LOVE THE WAY YOU APPRECIATE THEM AS A GROUP EVEN IN THE SMALL THING AND YOUR COMMENTARY IS ALWAYS RELATABLE AND APPRECIATED😇💜
I will screen shot your shot and add it to my list!!! Thanks for watching 💜
great song
First, you're right, the second song refers to the ARMYS... and second the last song has a lot of meaning for them because it was written based on personal experiences, it's about the loss of friends ( if I'm not mistaken from SUGA and RM ), but this song is also related to a big tragedy that occurred in South korea... in addition to all this meaning, they brought it as a message of comfort and hope in the middle of the pandemic
Not in Seoul, which is the capital, but in South Korea,
@@larewi6765 You're right I fixed it, I got confused because of the ship's name: Sewol
The last song is emotional and it has a deep connection
This song is dedicated for the national tragedy Seoul fairy incident where Many school kids got sunk in the ship it has an explanation video also this songs' music video is totally dedicated to that national tragedy
Sewol Ferry Tragedy
So you shouldn't be surprised if sometimes they prioritize the choreo over the singing :)
Great reaction, looking forward to more💜
RM is the only one who is fluent in English
Rest of the members are studying
16:08 oh, bts are great in any genre, literally, they take genre and make it their own. And oh, believe me ,there are a lot of people that envious of their talent and how they fir and flow as a group seamlessly. They really cover all bases and do it as you said, without trying outshine eachother on the song and having sincere loving relationship between eachother which os also envy of many
Awww...thanks for the compliment 🥺💜💜💜.. recommended Armypedia
Spring day is still the queen of all BTS songs. 💜
Never can fake bts reaction,if we watch bts we feel the good vibes ❤❤❤❤
“They can cover it all” nothing truer than that and it means so mich in many ways.
Suga’s words “Thank God there’s seven of us” means so much, whether you’re after hip hop, ballad, even trot -there is someone who can fill that.
Even among themselves if you are looking for a friend who is quiet, sunny or just need someone to hype you up the variety is there too.
By the way purple is Army and BTS color it means we trust you and love you in case u wonder about the purple hearts 💜💜💜💜😂 bzlcz ur reaction is amazing and you are going to get a lot of these 💜
I appreciate it so much 💜 I normally use yellow, but for this group I can jump in!!
U are a very well spoken person I appreciate you for who u are keep smiling
This tiny desk was recorded during pandemic so they sang from Seoul -South Korea
I really love this tiny desk 💜
As many have already suggested, MMA 2019- full 38 minute award show performance. It doesn’t get better than that (by any artist). I’m enjoying your reactions and look forward to seeing more!
loved your reaction to them so far thank you for reacting to them AND educating us, i reccomend you react to the original music + a live performance of it together so you could see the changes they make in the song and stuff like that. it's a fact btw ARMYs now that BTS sound even better live, also you could see their amazing choreos while they still sing live
Thanks for the kind words and support 🙏🙏 I also appreciate the suggestions! I’ll add them to my list 💜
YES I ABSOLUTELY LOVE JIMIN AND HIS VOCAL SQUEAKS
Spring day is about tragic that happened to a ferry in South Korean. It is so heartbreaking.
Legendary MMA 2019 performance it's great I hope you see it💜
Another great reaction. I love that you catch all the details and their abilities. They can do it all and pull everything so good.
So for pure amazing vocals live I would recommend “ your eyes tell” ….but I think u are due to see them dance as well…I’d recommend both “On” and “black swan” because they both have choreo and beautiful vocals& lyrics but are so so different you’d think it was two different groups. 💜💜💜
WOW your reaction blew my mind!!!! I never thought of them that wayyy
Specific recommendations to see what they can do, focusing on live performances:
On @ Grand Central Terminal
Butter @ the Grammy's
MMA stage performances (2018 is iconic)
MMA 2020, recorded live for a digital audience (I love the dance opening but mostly I love this one because Suga was recovering from surgery and they left his space empty)
Any live of Born Singer destroys me but especially watching them one after another to see how they've grown and changed
There are some solo vocal performances that are amazing - Jimin's Serendipity and Filter, Jungkook's Euphoria, Jin's Epiphany, V's Stigma all stand out to me personally.
I don't spend as much time with the rap line's lives. If you want to look at music videos Black Swan is a work of art and I really love Suga's solo song (as Agust D) Daechwita. I think you'd find that one fascinating.
Everyone will have different favorites to suggest. As long as you come in with an open mind, you'll find a lot to enjoy 😁
In particular, I think you've already picked up on the fact that they highlight each member's unique abilities instead of trying to be homogeneous. Every one of them is incredibly good at what they do 😁
Oh and the rap line absolutely deserves the love! Someone else will need to fill in the recs though, for live performances.
For cohereography BTS on and black swan is best and u can watch live performance and if u can watch MMA 2019 it will be great 💜💜💜💜
About Spring Day.
4:47 we call THIS smile the jimin effect ;-) Welcome to the mochi rabbit hole
I recommend BTS Best Dance Breaks lol so you can see the wide variety of dance styles they cover and just how much work they put into each and every choreography
Choreography!!! They have so many incredible performances but I will suggest Black Swan or for an older tracks maybe Not Today or Mic Drop.
29:30 - * cracks knuckles * So I hear you're curious about some of their best choreographies. No problem! Here are some of my faves:

These are but a handful of their amazing catalogue of amazing dance videos. I hope you find one that strikes your fancy! Thanks for the reaction; this was so informative and fun as always! 💜
Crack knuckles 😂😂😂 you need some sort of something for that I love it
Chrystal colors incrusted mic.'s , dude, I DIE for those damn things.
Also, I'm not sure if someone has said this already but RM, the one with blue hair, actually speaks fluent English. He's the only one who's completely fluent but by today the rest of them can understand it pretty much and speak it a lot better than they could in the past🙄. Not quite fluent but it's clear they improved much over the years🙂👍🏾💜
With choreo you can react to
1 MAMA awards 2019 BTS performance
2 MAMA 2018 BTS performance
3 baepsae live performance
4 mic drop live performance
5 idol live performance
6 black swan live
7 fire live
If you want you're mind blown 2019 MMA is a must! 2018 mma and 2020 mma is super good too!
(here one of the members was injured so he didn't dance much, but it was still a fantastic performance)
(by the way, the MMA is an award show ;))
for a bts live performance with great choerography i'd recommend to you mma 2019!! i think it reeeally showcase their range performance wise. it's kinda long though (roughly 37 mins), but as other comments have probably already said, we'll watch through it with you :) thanks for your reactions, i really like how you provide technical explanations but also try to give examples, it really helps. thanks for liking bts 💜
MMA 2019 can be the way to go... Long, but absolutely worth it.
I don't know if anyone mentioned, but two Brits wrote Dynamite - using every bit of Americana they knew, evidently. 😆
Next! Should be MMA 2018 then MMA 2019 … MMA is an award show .. you will love it you can also go back as far as 2016, 2017 as well if you’d like
You should most definitely watch the Spring Day MV and an explanation video. It would be a great itroduction to how deep, philosophical and beautiful Bts' lyrics are.
I'm really behind your enthusiasm, thanks and please keep doing lives, with or without choreo, the lives are always the best.
You notice their emotion while singing this spring day song, Yes this song is a sad song and has a deep meaning specially in korea
It's a story of tragic ferry sink and almost 300 students died 😢 I'm sorry I'm not good in english so I suggested you to watch the explanation video about the story of spring day song of BTS💜 thank you 💕
I like the 2015 MAMA Block vs BTS ( and not because of Jimin).
Great reaction! More BTS please !
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
another live performance of BTS that you should check out :
1. Outro Tear Live
2. The Truth Untold Live
3. Mikrokosmos Live
4. Ugh Live
It’s like a 6 min video
For choreo on fake love at the bbmas is cool. So is ON on jimmy Fallon. A lot of ppl also like black swan on James corden
It’s also pretty cool seeing their concert performances.
Great way to hear one of their most upbeat in your face songs and see their dancing and choreography at the same time😁👍🏾💜
P.s. hold off on their 2019 MMA performance as well as the other MMA ones since you don't know the guys or the music and performance well enough yet.
Thks and welcome to our rabbit hole… j hope started as a street dancer listening to and inspired by j Cole…
He is one of 3 rappers in BTS… there are 4 vocalists.. they are all immensely talented as performers, composers, writers and producers…
I would recommend born singer, hip hop lover, outro tear from wembley, run BTS live from Busan… these are all lives and look for videos with English subtitles…
For MV’s
J hope chicken noodle soup
Suga as august d Daechwita
Rm joke with English subs
On kinetic manifesto
Mic drop
Fire
Blood sweat and tears
The catalogue runs over 300 tracks and there are around 75 official MV’s… but this is a good start lol
Army loves watching reactors find BTS… we love long videos, don’t mind pauses and rewinds and replays but pls remember to turn on captions… 💜💜💜
You might want to look at the 'Hardships and hate' that BTS have gone through since day 1
Luv ur BTS reactions 💜please do (film out)and (your eyes tell)live by them as well 💜
For the choreo I suggest black swan (btw please watch the live performance of black swan in Jimmy Fallon )they sing it while dancing 💜
Hey man just found your channel and already watched all your BTS content 👍👍
I enjoy your insights and thoughts about the songs, lyrics and the instruments. Thank you. 💜
BTS 2019 mma awards legendary
You should see them sing and dance at the same time live! They're a complete package!!
You like hip-hop live so you should react to these performance
1 outro: tear live
2 cypher medly live
3 mic drop live
4 ddaeng live
Glad you enjoyed BTS's Tiny Desk--it's one of my happy places. For a recommendation, I love the version of "On" from Jimmy Fallon's show. They do it in Grand Central Station, and it's just a HUGE treat for the ears besides being visually stunning! 💜
Not only are BTS supremely talented and can 'do it all', but they are also very disciplined in their musicianship. Notice that everything they do is in service of the song and never for trying to hog the spotlight or stand out individually.
Yeahhhhh.... EVERYTHING they write has ties to ARMY in some way. 😁💜
Award shows like MAMA 2018, 2019 and 2020 are awesome performances! They're long but you won't regret watching them.
I love that reactors will go through the whole thing and the first thing they say after is "oh no, is it over? I wanted more!"
Good choreo choice I think you’d also really enjoy the song with:
ON (title track from their 2020 album Map Of The Soul: 7)
Tons of options depending what you want:
There are two music videos, one is more cinematic, but the “Kinetic Manifesto Film” version was their initial release for the song & is pretty choreo heavy.
ON at Grand Central Station for the Tonight Show w/ Jimmy Fallon is an amazing performance but there are also lots of Korean music show performances they did for ON that are on CZcams (M countdown and Music Bank would be what to search for), but also their 2020 MAMA awards performance of ON is also incredible (though they were down one member, who was recovering from surgery!)
Enjoying your reactions thus far!
I’d go with maybe “Fake love” czcams.com/video/df3AuWkaM_A/video.html
Or “Mic Drop” because that opening riff is just magic czcams.com/video/oZpG_wGwDxQ/video.html
👌
Once Jimin said he asked their producer (probably PDogg) how he was supposed to hit a note that was high even for him. "Tighten your butthole." Was the answer. 😆 So Jimin stood and demonstrated for us, clenching and bowing his whole body back. Wahhhh! Committed to his art. Lololol😂🤣😂🤣😂
I just think about him breaking chopsticks with his butt now though 😂
@@evantesseract737 OMG, he could multitask! 😂😂😂😂
I just tell you this because you look really professional and passionate about singing and music and I saw other 'Singers' accusing them of lypsynch when everyone knows that this is the last thing BTS does and they proofed it thousand of times, so I just don't want you to misunderstand😊 heres the link: czcams.com/video/MZh-w2nysuI/video.html
I really enjoy you reactions💜
You’re right about the last song, there is an emotional attachment for BTS and this song. They wrote this song for the loss of 300 kids on the Sewol Ferry accident in Korea several years ago. This song has been on Billboard chart since it happened. Check it out.
MMA 2019.. best performance of all time
😂😂 those sound effects or adlibs, the rap line (especially jhope) likes to make many of those. I really enjoyed listening to bts' musics' background adlibs because those sounds soo fun
