Really great to hear the expert view on how realistic this plane is, really looking forward to trying it out. thanks!
according to the ini devs, there will be a free enhancement package for PC pilots at launch that adds a cabin. Similar to the one for the A310.
Turn calculations I think were mentioned as a known issue in the patch notes.
@@Mr_Realworld with SU14, currently scheduled for the 5th Dec
Thanks, learned a lot again. Great to hear your train of thought during a flight as i imagine would be the same as in the real one.
As for the sounds, its almost like a hybrid of a PW and LEAP engine for the A320 neo. The LEAPs don't howl like the PW's do, but aside from that the sounds are accurate to what you would hear in a Cockpit.
You can import the ofp to the fmc. There's also a switch by the cabin door lock that let's you see CCTV into the passenger cabin
The iniBuilds A320neo is a triumph! This bodes very well for the "long haul Airbus airliner" in development.
It's certainly promising, I'm looking forward to whatever A330/A340 they're going to do before the A380.
Awesome video, looks like Microsoft knows what they are doing to sell their product with high fidelity aircraft included. All they need to do now is has inibuilds move onto the A350-900 and they will have the set for their new MSFS 2024
thanks for the video, the take off in my side seems very good and something like the toliss one, so thats good, also I saw that this is 8 versions older than they are now soo a big improvment in the release I'm sure
Rotation definitely feels much better, however just after becoming airborne the nose shoots up into the sky. I guess the transition from rotation to normal law needs some more work there.
That is impressive. For a first beta that's very promising indeed.
Hello Emanuel, first of all, thank you very much for your great videos🙏🏻 I try to fly in the SIM as realistically as possible and that's why you are number 1 for me as a real pilot. I'm really looking forward to the A320 from Ini and your review was very good promising. Finally a good Airbus for the Xbox. Are you planning to do a detailed tutorial on how all the processes work in the Airbus like you did with the 737? That would be really great for me and probably for many others too. Many greetings from Germany
Looking forward to this one!
Very nice review as always thanks again Emanuel! You showed the PROG in the FMS but Im curious to see if the REPORT option in it show useful information like TOD and EFOB as Fenix and FSLab do..
I'll check that out in a future vid. To be honest though, the only time I'm using the REPORT page in the real A330 is when I missed a fuel check, received a direct (so the FROM way point is no longer there on the FPLN page) and need to look up the fuel at the last waypoint.
@@A330Driver REPORT page is verfy useful too to see the distance and time before TOD especialy for long FLP.
I've found the quality of the autoland, with any aircraft that supports it, seems to also depend on the scenery/airport. if the runway isn't quite the right height that ILS was set up for it can throw it off.
You can see this when using the HUD on the 787 with the runway outline enabed.
In one of the Q&As, Jorg said he wants all of the default aircraft to be the best they can be and he was surprised more devs weren't contacting him to collaborate on making that happen. I think they were discussing the Salty 747 mod at the time. This A320 is further proof that he meant what he said and as a result, MSFS now has the best default aircraft lineup on the market.
Yep, that's how I see it as well.
Great review, thanks !
The way you set up the Secondary FPL for the Go-Around Procedure, would love a more in to depth video on that alone for both the 737 and the 32nx family!
He already has done, about 7 months ago. Look for the video titled "How we use RTE2/SEC FPLN"
What Ashley says, check that video out. I'm sure you'll like it!
"The part of the SID you all ignore" is another one you can watch in conjunction.
@737NGDriver @Ashleigh_T Appreciate the help from both of yall!
As a Xbox MSFS user I’m extremely happy we finally get a really good modern Airbus! That was missing all the time.
100% agree
Do you know when is it coming out?
@@toma3314it should come with Sim Update 14 on December 5th (if everything works as planned).
its beta u can get it@@toma3314
I have it on my msfs on xbox
I'm really not sure why MSFT felt the need to invest in ANOTHER A320. Surely if there's something that MSFS isn't lacking, it's A320s. What it IS lacking, 3.5 years into its life, is high-fidelity long haul airliners.
Of course it would have been nice to see another aircraft, but this is the first proper A320 for XBox. For long haul they already have the A310 and Dreamliner (sure, more is better, but at least this is a great step for XBox users)
Agree. I personally love the a320, but we arent short of them thats for sure. I think we are likely to see a “step back” as MS caters to the xbox community. They realize at this point that the vast majority of their financial gain within msfs is still ahead with 2024. So they will work harder right now to bring in xbox players in hopes of gaining them into the sim
My view is it’s for msfs 2024, the missions in msfs2020 that use the old one will be remade with the inibuilds one or removed updated, the inibuilds that be the sole default a320neo in 2024 msfs.
Well thats just not true at all when referring to the base simulator. The long haul airliners; the 747, 787, and A310 are all up to high fidelity. The A320, on the other hand, is not. This fixes that.
I find it the logical progression. They got good quality 747, 787, Longitude, 310 and high quality GA planes as well, but the 320 was still the "old shite". They needed a good one.
As far as I know FBW refused to sell them their code so they did one on their own.
I could imagine contracts with Airbus to be involved as well. "You got good Boeings, why do you have a shit A320?".
In those commercial contracts freeware or addons won't matter. It's what is in the base sim.
Their other option would probably have been to do the same update to the existing A320neo and with that they would probably have completly broken the FBW. That would have gotten them into significant problems with the community so that option would be wiped out as well.
Glad to see that the cockpit modeling is almost indistinguishable from the Fenix on first glance. I was worried that I'd the cockpit would feel different or would have this "default aircraft" feeling to it. The colors and fonts on the PFD though do remind me of the Fenix V1.
I'm looking forward to this and would be hoping to have a P&W version for that ASMR howling during taxi 😁😁
The displays surely need some more work, but that said the Fenix displays are overdone. Real Busses don't have such a high contrast, aren't as bright and generally look more like a mix between the ini and the Fenix. Right now you still get that A310 feeling looking at the A320 displays of the ini but let's hope they'll improve that.
I see! Though speaking of displays, it does make me wonder if the ini and fenix v1 displays was based on an older version of the airbus displays as i do occasionally see some instructional vids on youtube with the same fonts and colors.
I pretty much doubt you'll see a PW version from iniBuilds - on the A310 they also told it will be just one version of the aircraft, so it seems the case on the A320 Neo, too. It would also be just too much additional work for them to provide another engine option as it's not just the 3D model changing to still be able to provide it for free ;)
I'm pretty fine with "just" the LEAPs, however it would have been nice to see them bringing PW instead - somehow I have the feeling Microsoft only was able to obtain licenses for the LEAP version for some reason.
@@deltak5457 Yeah such a shame. Some of the carriers with the NEOs that I'd love to fly have PWs and I would've loved to fly the "canon" aircraft. But licensing aside, I wonder how difficult it would be to add a PW version. It's probably more nuanced than I'd imagine, judging from how long it's taking for Fenix to release the IAEs. But I'm not an addon aircraft developer so who knows
@@jaojao695 I fiddled a bit around with aircraft configs and stuff - If you wanna do it "right" it takes much time. Besides the model itself thrust to weight ratio on different engines is a thing as well as fuel consumption, sometimes even systems like FADEC work different and has different display pages. If you are not diving into such detail it's not even half baked ;)
On top of that it's not just about putting in the correct numbers as the simulator might act not realistic even in that case. For the correct "feeling" the real life numbers have to be altered again to work realistic in this environment which can only be judged by testing with real pilots of the real aircraft (if you want to ensure everything is correct).
So yes, it's a pretty complex task to swap the engine types - that's why I'm fine with one type here :)
Yellow shades on the windows should project a faint amberish shadow on the window's frames (or elsewhere)! That's a detail, but those kinds of small details are what make masterpieces of art almost perfect! So, if somebody in IniBuilds is reading, write down before releasing: Don't believe it means too much change in program.
that is the responsibility of the lighting engine, which does not support transparant or colored shadows
Thanks for the review !
My pleasure!
4:13 engine oil quality ground check is on upper overhead panel FADEC. Thank you
This inibuilds A320 is looking promising! Looks good enough to switch using the FBW one with this one, although the new FBW cockpit is looking way better than previously and than this one!
Yeah hopefully they can iron out the wrinkles and get a release pushed out for this. I routinely fly 320 family aircraft and I love FBW, but it would be nice to have another one to try out.
NICE! I was hoping that you will do a video about it 😄
Oh, I absolutely would! But with my new job flying long haul I'm sometimes away from my computer for a couple days - up to a week - at a time.
It's just so annoying that when MSFS has no A340, A350, 707, 717, 727, 767, or 777, that we now have effectively 3 versions (4 with LatinVFR) of the same damn plane.
And still no high end payware one with Fenix depth/quality and also no PW engines...so I'm waiting for the 5th version ;) but luckily 777 will "soon" be done by PMDG and inibuilds develops still the unknown modern widebody airbus....
A340, 707, 717 and 727 are probably commercially just not viable as addons. Perhabs the unknown widebody Airbus from inibuilds could become an A340 financed by Microsoft in a similar way they did the A310. Not enough customer interest to make a high fidelity version worth it as third party payware otherwise, though there is hope for a very good 727 by FSReborn who aims to do one after the Phenom. He's doing his addons more as a work of passion than for commercial profit so chances are it's going to be very good.
777 is in development by PMDG.
767... at least a high fideflity version like PMDG or Fenix might be hard as it's a fading airplane, soon probably an exclusive cargo plane. Generally customer interest is highest in what they actually fly on in real life so things like 737s, A320s, 777s, etc. are what will sell best. Likewise the A350 and 787 would sell very good, but they're a lot more complex than the aforementioned planes so there will be less profit as you need to invest more money making them.
Iconic planes like the 747 or 380 or Concorde will also always sell good and well, all three are in development already.
@seanomotopaiea
Yeah but thats just because of that almost everyone (PC and xbox players) uses short/midrange planes for 1-3hours flights which they have time for. the market for that type of airplane is so much bigger as for longhaulers. Most of the people dont have time for 13 hours flights which is shown in the sale numbers in the end. But i can understand your opinion. I want also a good a350 ^^
@@FloM755 Yeah that's a good point and the reason why I personally love widebody cargo airliners. There are lot's of short real world routes operated by 747F or 777F.
I think 767 is also in development. Bluebirds Sim in developing it, and I am pretty sure it will be a high fideflity aeroplane
For a default aircraft it’s impressive. Tbf inibuilds are in my experience one of the better developers. I think this is made for 2024 when it arrives and will be the default a320neo in that sim. Hopefully it get continued updates but as beta it’s a great addon and free as well nothing wrong with that. Thx for video comprehensive as always
I agree on your theory, wouldn't be surprised if the old one goes away completly in FS2024. They had to upgrade the A320 to a good standard like the other default aircraft, but couldn't do it without braking the FBW mod and thus making the community rather angry. So this is possibly the best solution.
This is an alpha build of the plane, not beta. It's 8 versions older than the version inibuilds currently has. It will be finished by december.
@@A330Driver Just wanted to clarify, The FBW mod is completely seperate from the default A20N. Asobo can entirely break the default A20N and the FBW mod would be fine.
@@TheSAfreak Can they? I know that FBW used to replace the default, whereas now it's a separate airplane in-game. But is everything separate? Or does it internally rely on some files/configs/data/whatever from the default A320?
@@LuLeBe it used to rely on the default aircraft but now its completley seperate
Going to try it once it's out next month on final release. For now I have Fenix and pmdg
This looks good. I wonder if the MCDU has lateral and vertical revision pages.
Finally, a descent A320n for the Xbox community. I must say I'm gonna enjoy flying this plane on Xbox. Thanks for the review, captain
You'll love it indeed!
Hello! I like your channel and now I'm learning spoken English. If it’s not difficult, turn on the auto-title function in your next videos. Thank you!
The 220 knots target after passing FL100 also happened to me
"discontinunity"
In all seriousness, great video - don't like to use the betas myself but looking forward to a great new aircraft that I won't have to empty the wallet for.
Could you include time stamps in your future videos when applicable? That would really give us an advantage to quickly find the parts of the videos most relevant to us. Other than that, thank you for your opinion and review!
Looks fantastic . Overall, would u say this plane sits somewhere above the FBW and below the Fenix ?
Can't wait for this a320. It was delayed but we should get it on the next update.....
Take a drink every time he says cool😂
Anyway does the neo extend speed brakes past 2 in managed descent?
Looks a way off yet for jnibuilds
Hey Emmanuel. I'd like to know if you'll be doing a full tutorial on the aircraft when it officially releases on December 5th. I've tried looking at one's for the fenix but there's something's on the mcdu that just don't work.
Press the video button next to the door lock switch and you can see the cabin on the screen
Impressive, lets try it when release, but for now, i preffer FBW
Hate to bring up something not that relevant, I switched to beta channel on steam, for both msfs and steam and opted SU14 beta, installed, but ini 32neo is not showing up, don't know what I ve could done wrong. Liked your last demonstration of this neo, which was so inspiring especially some of your procedures, great work.
Thanks for this video. Will you report the vnav and speed issues to the developers? Would be great for them to get some proper feedback from someone with real world and developer experience.
I really want this aircraft to be great, so it would be awesome if all this stuff got ironed out.
The back lavatories in this plane are like sardineboxes 😂
Over are the times of good old mile high club. I recently flew on an A330neo and I would barely fit into the lavs there myself...
Would you be able to do a video on runway change on departure and the Airbus checklist for it?
I put it on the list for a future video, good idea!
Wake up honey, the 1,001st A320 addon dropped
Worth mentioning this is a very old build as INI said
The throttle power increases really slowly for me.
Nice video. Where did you get the Lufthansa colors from?
They're from flightsim.to
Thanks for the video and first impressions. Shame at 47:49, when you disconnect the AP, that you get the three pips too - that shouldn't happen, right? No change of mode at that point.
It should happen. The mode that changes is the approach category the plane can do.
With AP engaged it's CAT III when the AP disengages it degrades to CAT I.
Edit: Now that I think about it... on autolands that might be different. I'd actually have to check again in the (real) sim. Only did 3 autolands by now.
Have we forgotten about the Fly By Wire A32NX?
I don’t have the top of descent. Is there maybe an issue? Or did I not type something right in the fmc
I noticed you turned on your center fuel pumps, but I imagine you had no fuel in center tanks for such a short flight… should center pumps always be switched on even if there is no fuel in center? I have roughly 500 hrs with the 320/330 in the sim but was never sure about those center tanks.
Is this the default 320 in MSFS, or where is it downloaded from?
You can insert you simbrief ID into the MCDU and the the request will work
I tried that offscreen, but it didn't work.
Not simbrief id, but username
Just wow. Is it included in the basic Standard Flight Simulator? I don't have time to see the full video. Sorry if you have already comented on it.
Yes it is
Why can the FMC not download the flight plan and weights from Simbrief?
I know many are wanting the a380, and I wont complain when it comes, but would personally like to see a quality a350. We will see if any of the “in development” aircraft make it to the sim and what they end up looking like. Ive been waiting for the tfdi md-11 too, and it looks like it needs quite a bit more work.
I think the logical progression is 320neo, (330), A380, A350 as they are rising in complexity with the 350 being most complex, but you can base one on the other.
The TFDI got a long way ahead, but it's clearly showing the potential to become an awesome airplane and with TFDIs history I'm sure it will eventually get there. Perhabs only in a year from now, but hey!
I've heard it also said that there is not much technical information yet released about the A350 for modders to work with.
Interesting. Mine do have a start delay.
I love it it’s great but I’m not sure why it’s kinda broken auto throttle dosent work and the rudders too
I got an question when I have an tca airbus throttle and when I try to Rev thrust in the inibuilds a320N it doesn’t work any one has an idea why?
Can you review the Passenger 2 add on please? It’s newly released!
Are their plans to add the gtf to this new 320 neo
Is it okay that thrust on takeoff of 78,9% N1 is less than climb trust of about 83% N1?
Nice review, when will MSFS 2024 come out? Planning to buy it :)
Next year. But at what time next year... Nobody knows.
how is the passenger cabin?
Hi Emi, nice video so far(about half way through). May I ask, what FCOM do you use and is it available for download?
Tonnes of A320 FCOM on the internet if you do a Google.
Smart cockpit has plenty of A320 docs but they are from older models and not the NEO’s. Most modern Airbus data is now digital so harder to get hold of
I'm using my companies FCOM which is the current Airbus FCOM.
It's not available to the public.
However there's plenty of documentation available on the net, smartcockpit is a very good source to start at.
@@A330DriverThanks, I'll take a look at smartcockpit then
Emanuel, did you try and do a Quick turnaround to try if the motoring of the engines is simulated?
I haven't tried myself, but a friend of mine did and said it was there.
I've kinda had an odd experience so far, not following routes too well and at the moment it doesnt capture ILS Runway 11 in Vienna. The frequency isnt picked up automatically in the MCDU, this is what the default aircraft was doing before
You have to type the identifier for that runway, OEW in this case. Then click on the button (ILS/FREQ) and you'll see the ILS frequency, 110.3. In case of multiple OEW, select the right one and it will be loaded.
@@acnumber7 should it not be set automatically when you select the approach runway as ILS 11?
@@acnumber7 Isnt that meant to populate automatically like it does with say the Fenix or even the A320 FBW?
@@photoeducationbydanielIt should do it but, actually, it doesn't show automatically when you select the runway. I think they will fix this.
@@acnumber7can you be more precise about OEW? Where you can find it?
Where do you find it? Can’t find it on my MSFS
Let's hope they update the aircraft with DRAIMS and FLS
Have you flown the FBW 32NX?? How does it compare? Do you think this will en the 32NX project??
I'm going to be blunt that already looks better than FBW. No disrespect to them because they kept me using MSFS in the early days and their mod is excellent, but the ini already has features in the MCDU (sec flight plan for example) that aren't in FBW.
Sadly, this aircraft is laggy for me in the beta , gotta wait till it comes out, otherwise its a good addon considering there's no extra charge for it, Thank you for you great video! ;)
I take it skins used on the "default" neo, can be used on the v2.
I don't think so, it's a new model.
I find, the big issue with the sim in general still is the transition from flying - touching down - rolling. Ground friction of tires is a huge issue, too as well as the effect of weight and balance on the airplane. That oscillating I did notice when flying a lot of airplanes in this sim. Even very heavy airliners are oscillating like C172's at take off roll and rollout. Very unrealistic. it almost feels like the plane is acting in a whole other medium with other physics and not interacting with the sim environment or current weight situation at all. I think you all get what I mean with the description above. In comparison to X-Plane, flying any airliners (default or Payware) just does not feel on spot. Another good example is the following: When touching down with the Ini A310, all 4 wheels of a main landing gear start spinning BUT only the two in the back are touching the ground. What you think about that? In X Plane you can see every wheel start spinning correctly in replay. I know for most of you this is not an issue but it scares me because it shows that the Sim still is limited and it is not just a bug. I am afraid there are a lot of crazy things happening in its code making it so hard to do replicate legit flight characteristics of an A320 but even more of a larger long hauler.
Yep, the transition between "up and down" and "down and up" certainly is less than ideal in MSFS.
I just loaded this 320. The EFB is not working. What gives? Maybe the fbw code issue?
Off topic but is the new Cirrus Sr22 G6 in that sim update Beta too?
not yet
Flightdeck looks a lot more immersive than the stock NEO and the FBW NEO
Do you know if the liveries we bought for the Asobo A320 will carry over to iniBuilds? I would hate to spend more money on liveries I’ve already technically purchased, I play on Xbox Series X btw.
No. because it's a completely new aircraft model.
@@Tuskin38 ok, thx man.
I would guess no. Different model needs a different paintkit. Therefore liveries are not compatible.
There is a data field where you can insert your simbrief id
I did that offscreen but it still wouldn't work.
How i can install it?
where did you get that from?
I am just surprised you have an amazing flight without any stutter on approach. Any idea how to fix that, appreciate it. Awesome video keep it on.
Never had that problem, so not sure how to fix it. Perhabs post in the appropriate support forums, not sure if that would be the inibuilds or MSFS forums.
I run a old rig with a 1060 but recently updated my RAM to 32GB. It helps a lot + having the installation on an SSD drive.
Drag the airplane folder into your community folder and downgrade back to SU13 to fix stutters.
@@airrd i moved already the airplane folder to comm. folder but it caused CTD. I will try to downgrade to SU13, thank you.
however, i see there is work to be done in the A320neo... this thing will be unprecedented
There certainly is, that's why it's a beta after all.
Hello there! Welche Mod benutzt du für EDDF? :-D
It’s pretty good considering that it is still in beta and it’s coming free of charge.
And especially for xbox users who are being robbed by companies like LVFR for a product that is so unrealistic
Is it an add on for the default?
Hello...mine is freezing on xbox x...any ideeas how to fix this?
hope CPDLC will work in this 320
How did you get a livery for the new inibuilds a320?
flightsim to has bunch of liveries already
TCAS op ? If traffic injected ?
Question, does the inibuilds a320 Neo have interior model?
Not right now. According to one of the ini devs there will be enhancement package on PC, similar to the one for the A310, that will add a cabin.
For some reason when I go to turn with my rudder the nose landing gear only turns like 5 degrees even when I disconnect the tiller
You need to enable it in the EFB
Have you linked the rudder to the tiller through the EFB?
I haven't watched the video yet as I can't right now, but is it actually good? How would you compare it to FBW? And cons to it compared to other A320's?
It is good, very good indeed.
Noted thanks, I will watch your video when I get time. Appreciate it@@A330Driver
this will be free with the update 14, right?
Is the ToLissA320neo closer to the real thing, or the IniBuilds? :)
ToLiss all the way (except visuals)
Is this gonna come out for Xbox? I was a FSX simmer back in the day but now I have to rely on the series x for simming, bummer because I cant join a va or use vatsim but at least I have the ngx from pmdg, would be cool to have a somewhat study level a320
Yes, I believe it will.
I like it but I have a lot of performance issues with this plane at a point that is unusable for me
I always wondered why the fuel control switches (Airbus and Boeing) are not guarded switches ? The pilots would be having really bad day if they accidentially closed the fuel valve midflight!!
You have to lift/pull the switch up to move it
They are guarded in real life. In both, Boeing and Airbus you need to lift them up or pull them out before you can flick them.
The only developer I know of who actually simulated something the lines though was FSLabs.
5:32 - Poor pets in the cargo hold.
Can't take pets in the hold if it's not heated. At least in my airline it's not allowed.
@@A330Driver what about cold blooded reptiles?
Hi, is it correct it doesn't have the FLS/FINAL APP choice? No FLS capability?
I haven't actually looked into that yet, but you can be sure to see me doing NPAs with it soon.
Great video thanks! How does this compare with the FBW a320?
Basically FBW is only enhancement MOD for default A320 NEO , which is in development for several years . IniBuilds / Microsoft is brand new plane re-done from scratch , currently in early Alpha version . So .. FBW has some features which INI hasn't and vice versa .. best way is to directly compare them when INI is released with SU14 or SU15 . :)))) . And chooose the best for u .. but i like INI more , better cockpit geometry , better model .. but for now it hasn't PW engines , cabin etc ..for some people dealbreaker :DDDD .. you know ..
For now, Ini has better model, split mcdu. Other than that FBW has far better implementation in terms of flight model, system, sound, hydraulic simulation, etc.
@@GodfatherCZ1 FBW is not an enhancement mod, its an entirely seperate aircraft using the Asobo 3D model solely.
IT also can do RNAV approches, GPS approaches and some other cool neat features. Performance is much much better. FLight model though is a bit arcade ish@@andra7958
