Marine Benefit was/is a Touhou fangame that, assuming I remember Jaimers' description correctly, hopped onto the bandwagon that Touhou 13 was going to be a water-themed game. Obviously, it wasn't, though it makes for a good fangame.
Playing on Lunatic (or Hard towards the end) can cause things to get pretty chaotic, especially on later stages. As such, you'll want to graze as much as you can. While it IS risky, it'll help in the long run as grazing will slowly fill up your Oxygen meter (which can be found in the top-left area of the screen). When you fill it up, you'll get an extra life. The hydrogen (at least I think that's what they're called) items will fill up the other meter in the left/bottom left area of the screen. Fill that meter up, and you get an additional bomb.
Something else that differentiates this fangame from most fangames is the fact that some stage 4 and 6 spellcards are based on what character you play as. There are also difficulty-specific spellcards, such as Kasumi's stage 6 spellcard which only appears on Lunatic (which can be seen in my Lunatic 1cc with Reimu). Konoha's Mid-boss spellcard also functions a bit differently on Lunatic, with her second/last Main-boss spellcard being completely different on Lunatic.
The Extra stage also has character specific spellcards, though instead of it being a few, it's just about every spellcard except the final one. As a result, each character essentially has their own Extra stage.
