- Belgian-Rwandan megastar Stromae commands his set Live From: KCRW HQ with an easy confidence - immediately launching a crowd full of KCRW superfriends into an immersive performance anchored by critically lauded cuts from his latest album “Multitude,” and viral hit “Alors On Danse.” Punctuating the session is a particularly vulnerable conversation with Morning Becomes Eclectic host Anthony Valadez. Within the chat you’ll find Stromae breaking down the importance of supportive family structures, gathering inspiration from his eclectic musical upbringing, and the possibilities of being creative from 9 to 5.
Pro tip: Keep those ears peeled for multiple (!) impromptu acapella renditions of the Technotronic classic, “Pump Up The Jam.”

I am a huge fan even I am 70. I speak french, I lived in Paris for some years. I never saw an artist like Stromae, all in one package. Bisous
Same here! 70, je parle français, et j'ai habité à Paris, but many moons ago! I was absolutely astounded the first time I heard his music and I'm now a hard-core fan. So talented, so innovative. I've never heard anything like him!
I'm 73. I speak French, I lived in the south of France for nine years and I love Stromae
Same, I live in Montréal, I'm 69, and a huge fan !
Lady, I'm 41 and I'm only saying that because we're sharing numbers, because I really think they don't matter 😁
I'm tempted to introduce Stromae to my own mother who's 75, though she doesn't speak French...
Well, I’m 56. 😊
Stromae, elegance, joy and energy in each presentation.
I’m glad to be a part of dat “language circle”, cause his music so melodic u dont need to understand words, u feel it.
Now, if you get to understand or explore the lyirics, Stromae as an artist takes a whole other level. He touches very sensitive subjects that most artists usually avoid and that do not seem to be that connected to his rythm. Here some samples of the topics in some of his songs:
- Dodo: family violence and child molestatoin
- papaoutai: absent father
- L'enfer: depression
- Filles de joie: prostitution
- Moules frites: STDs
And I could keep going...
@@chamalejo oui, une dimension de plus
Search up the lyrics my brudda, it's worth it
Also, if you listen carefully you will learn! I have Swedish and English and how hard can it be to understand words like "Solitude" and "mon amour" etc. Start there and look some other ones up. After a while you will learn. I don't know if you're American, but learning other languages is both rewarding and ups your brain's function.
English please.
He’s so talented, creative and easy going. What a precious human being ❤ we’re so lucky to have him!
La idea de que Stromae escuchaba salsa y cumbia en su casa hace latir de alegría mi corazón latino.
I feel so at ease, connected to all the other world citizens when I listen to Stromae!
I love this kind of intimate … and the family storytelling, relaxed and funny Stromae.
Great session and loved the interview, but it's such a pity the performances were cut off.
I dont understand anything that Stromae says, but I love listening to his music. All I need are his melodies and beats.
Gzt the lyrics and get transcended
You can be creatieve from 9 to 5. I like that!

Мое первое знакомство с Стромае🙏🌏🙌🧡 я в восторге тихом и прекрасном, действительно, музыка говорит, звучит чувствами, иногда значение слов и не важны, когда слышишь сердцем и оно поет в резонансе🙏

This song needs a clip!
If you are talking about La Solassitude, I am sure there will be one as Paul has said this is his favorite song.
Agliyorum su an mukemmelsin❤️
I can’t stop thinking of the skit with Dave Chapelle mocking Prince for the blouses . While watching this I kept saying “blouses “ 😅😅😅
😄all the best artists wear blouses
Why always questions about his father when you see he feel not comfortable. He said all what he want to share years a go..
Please, Maestro! come to Brazil 🇧🇷🥺

When are you coming tonVirginia USA?
Being nigerian means if he goes on a tour in africa Nigeria will be left out because my country people don't actually appreciate good music taste ( most of them) so I'm working hard to goin and orchestra and travel round hopefully i will be able to go for his concert !
Пожалуйста, переведите на русский!!! О чем это интервью?
he had gained a lot of weight when he first made his last album, now he looks very sharp again!
why tf would you interrupt a song right in the middle?? that's hilarious, lol
especially in case of Stromae and his beautiful band
You are so beautiful stromae. 😅😂
Im wondering how manny stromae compositions have we lost due to stromaes brother opinion 🤦♂️
And that one song his wife vetoed!

His father died in Rwanda genocide? That's crazy.
His Dad went to visit his family in Rwanda and was killed in war. He was an architect in Belgium
