Thanks for watching!
You Bob are THE best of the nomadic genre! Helpful, informative honest and totally positive!
This is great info! Thanks, Bob 🚐😻🇺🇸 We go to Q every year and this is the first we've heard about working at the Big Tent!
'Just a heads up. I'm not sure if everyone understands the title. The 'Big Tent' is not at the RTR. It is near the RTR. The RTR is confined to the BLM land with a few central meeting areas. The RTR is pretty much just everyone's rigs, a few meeting areas (where people bring their own folding chairs if they'd like to attend the free workshops, etc), a few campfire pits plus a few 'bathroom' tents. The town nearby, Quartzsite has a lot going on. One thing is the 'Big Tent.' The RTR is a good ways away from the town. I hope this helps.
Thank you; I did have the impression they were much closer together.
Yes, and now this year they have porta-potties. It's been an amazing time so far!
so did I miss the RTR and Big Tent for 2018?
Another video with excellent information!! Finally a really good tour of the big tent for us newbies!! Thank you Bob
Bob the good you do and the information you pass on is pure gold!
He said the big crowds were gone, and it was still awfully noisy. Did anyone notice how stormy the sky looked? It still made me wish I was there with some money to spend. Great job, Mr. Bob.
Thank You Bob Wells! You are doing such a great service putting out these videos. You have blessed many! Kind hearts share what they know to benefit a stranger. Bless you Bob Wells.
Thanks Bob! A lot of information. I look forward to the next RTR!
Bob, this is amazing and great information!! I didn't realize how BIG this RTR really is, and that it's more than just meet and greet. Wow!! Just phenomenal!! I'll be a regular when I go full-time. Thank you for sharing.
Lynsey Wise, the RTR is on BLM land in Quartzsite but it has nothing to do with the Big Tent that is held in Quartzsite every year. Bob schedules the RTR so the last weekend is held when the Big Tent starts their week. 2 separate events.
Thanks Bob. You are so wonderful to share all that you do. I am definitely coming to the 2018 RTR.
Excellent! Thanks so much Bob. You ask the most pertinent questions, much appreciated.
This gives me some hope. Thanks Bob
Thanks Bob.I enjoyed seeing the big tent.It looks like an enjoyable event.
Thank you Bob for the great info .This was my first time seeing anything like this . Great camera work . ⚓
I am sooooo excited! Can’t wait!!!
I am looking forward to the RTR! I will be there!
Lots of good information! Thanks, Bob!!
Very cool, I'll make it out there one of these years
Thanks Bob.Looks like an enjoyable event.
Wow Bob, I had no idea it is so big! Very impressive but very exciting.
Okay thanks Bob. Tons of great people at big tent
Great video. Enjoyed your tour of the Big Tent site and surrounding aisles. Very informative.
Good timing for this video...giving folks looking for work enough heads up.
thank's for just putting it out there! you allway's are very clear and to the point !
Very good Bob, I don't remember this video but it's very helpful
Great info! Also thank you for sharing thoughts on good products and places for work. Good get info from someone with experience instead of me going blindly.
Hi Bob great video as away
Great Info, on spot, another informative from Bob! Yeah!
Wow. No idea this was so large. Just thought it was a bunch of classes. Great!!
Bob, thanks for filming and sharing this informative video :::)))
Great information. Thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
great info.........good job Bob
Thanks for sharing Bob, The sugar beet harvest were kinda pricks this last year, They were really stressing you must have a rv with a holding tank, shower/ and all that blah, blah! I tryed for N.D. I like the camp ground host, Im def gonna keep that in mind. Another great video!.. Im working to hit the road asap, In my newly built/still in construction astro camper.
I know my " Gettin the hell outa here date is a but this has been a subconscious focus before Bob, Jamie, KC, Sue Ann and others has made it cool to consider. My tiny trailer build is coming along nicely.
I look foward to meeting and sharing with every nomad I meet.
My name is RT Henson.
AKA: The Moon Dog. My 80 lb good boy that is my partner in this adventure, I named Ham Bone.
Im a jack of all trades and a master of none. I hope to be able to help many but truly befriend a few. 2020 RTR is unrealistic for me at this point but 2021, look out, hear we come.
Hello everyone.
Happy Halloween Bob Wells, and all your loyal support. 🎃
Thank you for sharing opportunities.
Please wear more wide brim hats in the outdoors. I honestly always worry about you getting too much sun!!!
Great video, lots of information. My good friends from Michigan Herbert and Kim are the rock folks, come every year.
Hey I get puffy eyes when I camp lol..teasing
Very valuable info Bob...thanks so much!!
looks like so much fun even though I don't like crowds I can handle that just fine just take myself back to a quiet campsite very excited about the RTR this year I'm not going to crowd you Bob but you might have to let me into your camp haha I'm quiet you won't even know I'm there:) love you Bob , your a beautiful ❤.
Wish I could go. Would love to spend the day at the Big Tent.
Really good video.
Great info. Maybe interview someone that does workcamping, someone that has moved around doing it. Awesome!
You can get some information from amazon's website for their CamperForce workcamping program.
CheapRVLiving I second Rob L 's video request; would l love to see you do I video interviewing a cpl/few different people regarding their experiences working as camphosts for different locations!!!! Or if you already have a video that has covered that, could someone give us a link to it please? Thanks!
Very cool video. Thank you.
Got to love Bob's true transparency his honesty.. what a breath of fresh air and yes we do appreciate you pointing out the bathroom facilities. rock on Bob!!! And all you rubber tramps
Thanks Bob !!!
I've never been further West than Cleveland Ohio. Thinking about driving out to the RTR this January....
Great video as usual Bob! I've worked a lot of vendor shows in my time and this tent show is fairly typical. Some real deals to be had along with some deals that aren't deals at all. Throw in a bunch of "Sham Wow" displays that have nothing to do with what you're looking for and you have your typical vendor show. Gotta know your prices or else you get caught up in the frenzy and pay too much. One good deal I saw there, the Yamaha 2000 watt generator. Good price, great generator! Quietest generator in the 2000 segment and totally reliable!
David MacDougall Someone posted Costco is selling it for 499. right now.
WOW! large tent, very popular
Thanks, Bob.
great info, thank you!!!
I enjoy your videos and I don't even live in America. ( Sandra from South Australia) x
Very good, cool Bob👍 🖖
That was very good thanks for the tip
Thanxs Bob.
Thank s Mr. Bob.
looking forward to going 2019 rtr
Ty Bob
Funny how many vendors don't realize/recognize you, Bob, as their benefactor, the reason they are even there.
you do a great service.
Great info...thanks
Thanks Bob for the info...I’m 61 and have been watching your videos for about 3 months...I’ve always been a minimalist...Less is more to me...I would love to do this but a little scary to me to be out there alone...I’m an extrovert, so need to be around people...Have not travelled much in my life but would love too..Hope to retire in 4 years... looking for a van now to build out..want to try it to see if it’s for me...One day to go to RtR and find a tribe to travel with..Thanks again... Ginger
I like that sugar beat harvest job
neat. thanks Bob
Goshhh, I would have thought at least one person would have recognized Bob as he walked around...
I think some did recognize him; they were watching. Maybe didn't want to interrupt.
You can dim led's with PWM or pulse width modulation. Its flickering a light at high speeds where it looks dim. If you flicker lights at 40 flashes per second, you can temporary relieve the effects of Alzheimer... in mice at least.
nice info
The Yamaha genset price was very good. I'd go with a Honda though. Honda can handle starting current overload much better than a Yamaha. My Honda EU2000i can run my roof AC just fine while a Yamaha 2000 goes into overload when compressor cycles. BTW, a new Honda EU2000i can be bought online every day for $949, with free shipping and no sales tax.
Also, the LED lights salesman was full of it. You can dim LEDs without affecting it's life expectancy. Dimmable LED requires a different driver circuit which most likely costs more.
I have two YamahaIS inverter/gen. paid more for mine. But Costco has them for $499.00 right now.
Just wondering... what is the story on that scar on your right arm along your tattoo? Got a crazy story for that? Just wondering! Thanks in advanced and keep up the great work my friend!
One of my challenge is my health - I can only work part-time, 4 hours a day.... and Deaf and fluent in ASL (no speech)... many jobs refused to hire deaf folks.... trying to figure out where I could find flexible folks.
Thanks for the tour, Bob! We plan on going this year and will be looking for solar setups. Who do you recommend going to? Also, when you say there are lots of RVs for sell, is it private selling or are RV dealerships there with all their RVs to show off?
I only saw private. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
where are you located at beautiful country youre very helpful man thanx for what you do!! ive gotta a high top explorer van im gonna take seats out and build a bed in the back its a very nice conversion so i dont wanna tear everything out just gonna buy a good cooler and a smaall grill n take on vacation any input you have would be grateful thanx again helpful human!!
Bob can you do a video of Q&A people are asking alot of stuff..
Hi Bob. Glad to see all your videos, they are so informative. Is there an RTR on the East Coast? I really do not go very far and I live in Florida
So far, I think there's only the one in Quartzsite. I suspect he won't be doing another one elsewhere. It's somewhat overwhelming for an introvert as it is.
I know the RTR is Bob's own event, but I have wondered similarly about whether there was an RV sales and Big Tent event that happens on the east coast or is Quartzite AZ the only place that does this sort of event with vendors and employers?
Well, the commercial 'Big Tent' is simply a business in Quartzsite. I have no clue if something like that is going on around the country. I suspect the critical mass of 'snowbirds' might make it more feasible for a place like Quartzsite.
best solar video?
Bob what computer a video editing software do you use?
Thumbs up.
as always a great vid. will be attending the eye this year for first time. my question regarding the hiring; does the employer require a resume be submitted? see you in 2018
Is the big tent part of RTR or a separate event?
The Yamaha generator purges fuel from lines when you turn it off, so it doesn’t gunk up. The Honda doesn’t do that.
Just wondering what activities a camp host has to do.
Do they hire older ladies? And ones that do not move so fast?
👍
Do Canadians need a work visa to work at one of these camps?
I really want to come to the RTR this year, and bring a friend that's trying to figure out what to do with her life now that her youngest child is 18 and ready to move out. Where do I find the RTR dates for 2017?
Elaine Farr, 2017 is over. 2018 just started Jan 11 and ends Jan 21. At the end is a 3 day meetup just for women. Next year 2019 will be about the same time in Jan. Just follow Bob Wells’ YT channel CheapRVLiving.
Does Champion Generators have a spot at Quartzsite?
They did last year and they had not only new ones but refurbished at a low price.
Who owns that big tent? It must take heavy equipment to raise it!, or take it down.
Getting you some sun
🖒
I hope to have my poop in a group in time to make it to the RTR this year.
thank you for sharing this, but its not for me.can`t work in the usa..iam canadain...eh
Beet harvest lady is wrong, ND won't hire you if you live in a van unless your title says RV on it and they have their own standards of what that means because of insurance.
Maybe make a video of jobs available for those that want to "live the life" but are physically disabled?
Run a search on his previous videos. He has interviewed physically disabled folks who are already living the life.
Needs more dogs...
Thank you Bob - does that BIG TENT go to other locations besides Quartside? Like up North anywhere?
The 'Big Tent' is not a part of the RTR. I posted this comment elsewhere, because I figured some folks might be confused by the title. "'Just a heads up. I hope this helps."
Dam bob slow the camera your moving the camera too quick hard to see the shots you taken i have to pause to read and get glimpse of what your trying to show us :) Please
Gerard, google how to slow videos down. I think you could turn the sound down and view it at 1/2 speed. That could help in this instance.
Where’s is this at?
Bonita Kremling Quartzsite, AZ January 2018
Maybe not, but I sure would like to rid myself of these puffy eyes
Get your China goods prepared.
Costco has yamaha 2000 gensets for $499...Bob stop misleading people~!
Hmmm I DON'T see any people with my skin color in any of these videos. Are you prejudice or are there not any "black" people in these camps ? F.Y.I. I've watched several of your videos ... Smh 😕
Bob did interview a lady of color, Crystal Vanner, it was a good video and you should watch it and don't be so quick to judge or...smh
Very few black people chose the nomadic road life. The ones who do are welcomed like anyone else. You would have to ask black people why they don't.
