finally some good old competition
We had arguably closer competition at the top-end in the previous gen. And since mid-2022, RDNA2 cards are faster than Ampere at every price point.
Now Nvidia seems to have the top-end all to itself, especially as ray-tracing becomes more relevant.

@@fatalzan the hashing rate of 6800xt was the same as 3070 , so nobody bothered to spend extra for same hashing power. That's why not so many in 2nd hand market.

This is the most beautiful reference design i've seen in ages.
I like that the backplate has some texture but stays pretty much blacked-out. This thing would disappear behind tinted glass
Hey optimum, I would love to see some performance comparisons of amds av1 encoders when the embargo is lifted compared to the competition to see how much it hits performance comparatively. Love the videos keep it up!

This gpu is one of the best looking gpu's out there in the market. The design is so sexy and clean, I love it !
Although performance is yet to be seen, I really appreciate they try to stick to next gen performance uplift without having to compromise the size/cooling of their cards. If you want to get in SFF cases and don't want to water cool, this is the next best thing.
The fact it also has usb c is great for minimal setups
DisplayPort will still always be better though.

Also discovered the Fractal Design Ridge case yesterday and it might be perfect for this card. Especially with the wide open front of the card and the case's ability to mount 3 80mm fans in the top. The hot air from this card would get pulled straight out of the card and out of the case immediately!

currently shopping for ITX cases for my red devil 7900xtx - while i realize it is a little bigger than the reference card, this is a really helpful video! Thank you as always. Looking to transition out of my H710i which I do love but is rather unnecessarily large into something smaller haha.

Did you actually check fitment in the Formd T1 V2 in 2.5 slot mode? At 51.5mm it's technically 2.54 slots so I was wondering if it'd cause issues with the side panel or anything like that.

At 5:18 you see that there is 20mm clearance underneath the card but If I check, do I see 25mm straigh to the heatsink? Would a deshroud be possible with 25mm fans udnerneath then?

Got this card recently was bummed it didn't have 3 DP so my 3440x1440p monitor only runs at 100hz than the 144hz because I have to use a hdmi so I'm wondering if the type c USB can be used with a DP adaptor and get full bandwidth to my monitor?
Let's hope the AIB cards don't go insane with the coolers. I totally expect to see the same cooler Asus put on the 4090/4080 on this card.
Yeah the AMD only AIB coolers will be way better this time like Sapphire, XFX, Powercolor and Asrock
ASUS, MSI etc will just reuse the 4080 coolers which are gigantic
basically everyone is doing 3 8 pins so they probably will be massive overkill
