I WOULD HAVE SCREAMED IF YOU DIDN'T KNOW THIS😭❤💕. This was named song of the century by rolling stone, and is one of the biggest best selling songs in history. It's only certified gold in the US but eligible for 10x plat/ diamond. This song popularised twerking and made it mainstream. It sold 25M copies ww and is still one of her most successful songs, selling over 500k in the US in 2019, 16 years after it's release. This along with perfect duet (diamond certified), irreplaceable, single ladies and Halo are some of the most successful songs in history. If i were a boy, drunk in love, telephone, say my name, survivor, bills bills bills, bootylicious, independent women, run the world, are also some of the biggest and impactful songs in histiry 💕❤

This is one of the best songs of the 2000s. If you like the production, it's by Rich Harrison, who was huge around 2002-2006. Another FANTASTIC production of his is AMERIE's 1 THING. It sounds similar to this in terms of the horns and rapid-fire vocal delivery. Also legitimately one of the best songs of the 2000s.

Using samples from The Chi-Lites's 1970 song "Are You My Woman (Tell Me So)", "Crazy in Love" is a contemporary R&B and pop love song that incorporates elements of hip hop, soul, and 1970s-style funk music.

Yes, Amerie worked with the producer of Crazy first on her 2002 debut album, Rich Harrison, but there is nothing on that album that sounds like Crazy In Love. I know because I own the album. @@chantoya17 It's funny that you took the time to comment on my post when no one has given my opinion a thumbs up. That's ok though. I am not a music industry head so I can't speak on production cycles, what producers get to listen to music that artists create, and when songs/albums are released. For all I know One Thing could have been made in 2001 and wasn't released until 2005 because the industry decides who it is going to push. But ask yourself, when it comes to black artists, whether music or film, it has to be one person the industry pushes. And when there are two women who are hot, they are set up to have to compete against one another. It doesn't happen in country music. But black artists have always been put in a place to have to compete against one another. It's overly simplistic to label my comment as a lie. Why aren't there 5 Beyonce's then? Why does one artist outshine the entire genre? More power to Beyonce, as if she needs my approval, but the industry is all about connections and backing an artist they think is going to make them the biggest profit, bottom line.

@@mln4032 I took the time to comment on it because I see that info parroted and implied so much that Beyoncé "stole" or copied Amerie's sound in her early career and the fact of the matter is, no she didn't. They had in common a producer for a few years but they had completely different styles when they each debuted a year apart from one another. Amerie in 2002, Beyoncé in 2003 (2002 if we're counting her Austin Powers song Work It Out which also contains prominent horn production by The Neptunes).
As for the rest of your comment, it's never been a mystery to me. The industry don't like pushing more than a few black musicians at a time and then inviting the public to treat them like crabs in the barrel (especially it they're on the same record label) because of systemic racism. Systemic racism permeates every facet of society unfortunately.

@@chantoya17 Cool. You came across as a Beyonce Stan, and maybe I came across as a hater ( I am not), but my issue is with how the Music Industry positions and backs certain artists they think are more marketable than others. I never said that Beyonce stole anything, but if they shared the same producer can you really not see the similarities in those songs and music videos? I recognize that there are "waves" or certain influences that pop at certain times, and Beyonce's team has capitalized on it for years because she is, or at least was, an industry artist. I was really speaking on how a talented young woman's career was cut short due to the fact that the industry chose to back someone else. Consumers have afforded Adele a wonderful life, but why is Jazmine Sullivan not celebrated as much?

The song has go-go music influences. Speaking of go-go, check out Amerie’s 1 Thing video.

Haha it feels so weird that I’m only 22 and I feel the generation gap because I vividly remember this song when I was a kid.
