The fact that the camera zooms into the kids phone and the camera angles on the kid, would tell everyone watching that this is an act, yet not one person noticed it. Me thinks the younger generations lack a lot of intelligence. Man, I was told by my mother in the 1980s not to believe everything on TV, and 40 years later we have a platform where literally anyone can make and upload videos, and the younger folks think that the really obviously fake stuff is real. Actually, it’s hard to be surprised by this, as millennials and zoomers think boys can be girls and vice-versa, which is not possible.

Having said that, even if he would have given him a perm, that kids hair still wouldn’t have looked exactly like the picture. The kid has fine, straight hair with a defined natural part.. which is exactly why the barber styled his hair like that. We usually don’t want to fight with natural parts bc they usually end up going right back even if you’re able to style it right. His hair isn’t thick enough to hide that part and make it look like that picture.

@gaysy1st no one has asked for a perm since the early 90's but yes if he went to a fancy expensive place they would have offered options to make his hair curly or wavey but will be a much more expensive haircut I doubt the kid was willing to pay. Barbers don't really do perms either

I used to be a hair stylist for years and a lot of people brought in photos or pics on their phone of what they wanted. So I had to have a lot of conversations about unrealistic expectations. Which is exactly what happened here except the barber did everything right! He did an immaculate job on the cut fade & style. I would’ve let the kid know that I could do the style, but since his hair is straight that it won’t look just like the gentleman in the photo. Then I’d show him the same cut on a person with straight hair and educate him on perms and upkeep and prices. Before I do anything I would make sure he had a parent there so we’re all on the same page. And when I’m done, I’d go get the parent so we can all go over the style together and make sure we are all good. It’s tricky with preteens and teens. But that kid’s attitude and rudeness was uncalled for.

well he gave him the wrong haircut, what he should of told the lad was his hair was the wrong type of hair for the style he wanted instead of just cutting it. I’ve seen woman have bigger melt downs than this lad when their colour doesn’t come out exactly the same as the sample in the shade chart. Hair is a personal thing and getting it cut wrong means it takes time to grow it out.

I used to be a hair stylist for years and a lot of people brought in photos or pics on their phone of what they wanted. So I had to have a lot of conversations about unrealistic expectations. Which is exactly what happened here except the barber did everything right! He did an immaculate job on the cut fade & style. I would’ve let the kid know that I could do the style, but since his hair is straight that it won’t look just like the gentleman in the photo. Then I’d show him the same cut on a person with straight hair and educate him on perms and upkeep and prices. Before I do anything I would make sure he had a parent there so we’re all on the same page. And when I’m done, I’d go get the parent so we can all go over the style together and make sure we are all good. It’s tricky with preteens and teens. But that kid’s attitude and rudeness was uncalled for.
