- We are back in the South Bronx, New York City. Historically and still currently, the worst part of New York City in all metrics. The Bronx is the poorest borough in the city, and doesn't fare well nationally either as it's also the poorest congressional district in the United States.
This is a continuation of our last South Bronx video, where we drove around the hotspots but this time in the Soundview and Castle Hill sections.
Please keep in mind that the area has been cleaned up compared to it's former years but the same problems of poverty, senseless violence, drug addiction and all the other ills that comes with living in the inner city remain despite the modernization and gentrification efforts. As you'll notice in this video, The Bronx is very densely populated and home to a large amount of public housing... a recipe for disaster.

Ordinary and functional. Cleaner, better conditions now than back in the 70's-80's. For A/C MANY still have the traditional window units that residents can buy or rent. A good number of residents keep them very clean and comfortable while, of course, there are the ones that are neglectful and don't care.
Buildings in the first 30 secomds are beautiful. Old America.

The Hispanic sections of the South Bronx are a lot safer than other parts.

The Bronx is pretty chill nowadays & much more affordable compared to Manhattan or even Brooklyn.
