I’ve communicated with JAM Athletes & Coaches on this issue, getting the latest recovery methods should be just as important as the training and performance expectations.
Yes King , we have to deal with the elephant in the room or has old time people say , take the bull by the horn. This really needs penciling out . Teams needs to come togather to discuss n find what they are doing wrong, their careers are at stake.
Most of you Jamicans have come into contact with some of our methods of training here in the U.S. why doesnt it carry over when you leave ? Most sports related injuries come from diet preparation. Weight training, supplement intakes, rest and recovery are our staples here in the USA
King Peter I honestly do not think Franno meant to downplay the abilities of the local coaches. I think I saw the complete video and later he seemed to have left the door open to ETH coming back to his camp. Besides, we all saw that she was improving while under Shanikie Osbourne and I still maintain that she should have cemented a deal with Shanikie and that not doing so was a monumental mistake. Then of course there is the Master Magician Mr Glen Mills who himself was involved with the training and mentorship of Franno so right away we can identify three coaches who could coach ETH. Apart from that, injuries are unpredictable, recall Parchment got injured while warming up last year? It can happen at any time and quite unfortunately for us, our major athletes were either injured or recovering from injury during the period of the Olympics
Hey Peter I was looking into it myself Ad it as touch my heart ❤️ deeply I think from my perspective thoughts and frame of mind wonder if the sun is too hot or they're not drinking enough water to electrolytes the blood I am just saying
Technically every athlete on the squad including the throwers can run on the relay team, however we are only allowed 2 changes. I hope this answers your question great one. Bless up 🙏🏾
@@peterlloydworld Since 1988, teams may enter up to six athletes for the event. Larger nations typically have two reserves runners in the first round in order to preserve the fitness of their top runners for the final.. If my memory is correct,in the NCAA all four can be changed but in the OLYMPICS A total of five athletes may be entered for a relay team. Should a NOC have also entered individual athletes in the corresponding individual event (100 m), the entered individual athletes must be included in the total of five (5) athletes entered for the relay event. In addition of five, NOCs can nominate a maximum of one alternate athlete for each team. Some athletes are prone to injury and you see this like with it say an Elaine Thompson for the most part Shelly was able to stay injury free and also you remember was always injured. I think that’s the case.
I ask a question: in addition to capable coaches, are there also therapists who know how to treat athletes? very often injuries come from wrong therapies...
Why so many injuries? Easy answer. The Jamaican athletes are not following the training manual. Then they want to compete at a high level , with top competition who have been training like the Americans.
At 50 to 70% sharika would not have medaled. She is good, but the gap isn't that large when she is healthy, that anyone would think a 70% let alone a 50% version would medal.

America’s talent pool is much bigger though. For instance the USA has much more 100m runners that can run sub 10 than Jamaica and sub 45 in the 400m. But the top level athletes for each country are relatively close.
