PLEASE tell me you are joking! Because if you are telling the truth, then I have to thank you for the constant hours I have spent on this game as a child and it being one of the starting points of my delve into fighting games in general!
@@DimzNoms 100% truth. I programmed this mostly while sitting in a Burbank CA Starbucks. It was a lot of fun to work on. Fun fact: the initial design didn’t include a block move. While building it I added a block move but all the artwork was final so I had to reuse one of the jump animation graphics. That’s why they look like they are awkwardly crouching while defending.
@@cheezywhiz Incredible dude! As a programmer myself I tip my hat to you and in the coming months I am definitely cooking up something based on the design of this game!
Wow, this game was a huge part of my childhood. It aged really well. I always felt like Slade would have been the icing on the cake if added but it's perfect nonetheless. The ui is simple but detailed too.
@@otakujiji That'd probably be the better option if not just because this game wasn't really designed for multiplayer. It would take all of about 5 minutes for players to find the full array of unbeatable cheese to use against one another.
I would have never imagine a tier list for a 20 year old flash game and honestly... we NEED another Teen Titans fighting game, whether it be official or fan-made. The idea of a 2D (or 2.5D) fighter featuring an iconic comic series is, in my opinion, something that would greatly help bring back the love for Teen Titans along the potential implementations for the game. I've always wondered about the possibilities for this; a bigger roster including fan-favorite characters (could add in guest characters as well), fun-yet-flashy mechanics, and overall an enjoyable experience for both casual and veteran FGC players. While it seems like a lot to consider and plan out should this ever be brought into existence then it's a great step for fans and newcomers to explore the world of Teen Titans in an interesting concept. I won't lie however, a part of me would love to make and share a video idea discussing about a "What-If Teen Titans Fighter". Also late happy birthday to you by the way, hope everything is going well! :D
Thank you! Also yeah even in CN's version of the Teen Titans they had ALOT of characters to choose from for a potential roster. I wonder if there is any issue with the Teen Titans license or if DC just doesn't think they are as popular.
@@DimzNoms Not as popular as the self-aware goofy mess that ends with "Go!"? Jokes aside I'm not aware about the licensing thing but I'm hoping it's nothing bad. I'd love for the OG Teen Titans to be brought back again, not as a reboot or spin-off but instead a game that's sure to bring back the recognition it once deserved.
I always knew my boy Richard Grayson was the best. His projectile spam is toxic, inpenetrable and oppresive, his dive kick and dash kick are among the best of the cast, and all his specials can combo into one another.
I remember there were rumors going around that they were gonna update the game with Terra as a playable character. Imagine if they expanded it that far. Even putting in characters like Bumble Bee, Speedy and Aqualad!
An advantage for the heroes are the ‘Call-in’ moves. While only one is listed in each heroes’ moveset, you can call in all non-player Titans per fight if you memorize the combos. That’s 4 hits of massive, iirc unstoppable, damage. It can’t miss. Even stronger than the projectile spam
Plasmus being bottom tier is pretty surprising. I remember playing against him as s kid thinking he was broken. Maybe I was just garbage at the game. 😂
Having gone back and beaten it on expert with everyone not named Cinderblock (lol), my own feedback on the rankings. Based on your Starfire ranking, if we are basing this entirely on how easy it is to beat computers since PvP does not exist, Jinx does not deserve a top 2 spot. I couldn't even finish the opponents in 90 seconds and was just winning by timeouts. Her projectile is considerably slower to come out compared to Gizmo/Mammoth/Starfire, and as far as vs computer, only projectile attacks matter basically, with the exception of Plasmus Arm Swipe which may as well be a projectile when the range is so huge. Everything else is kind of just a gimmick. Robin probably deserves his own tier with how overpowered he is - almost every character can feel strong when used by the CPU, but I generally found most of the challenge of each villain run being defeating Robin with the rest of them being pushovers. Tier Ranking for beating CPUs (Primary metric): God Tier: Robin, Gizmo Good Tier: Starfire, Plasmus, Mammoth, Jinx Acceptable Tier: Raven Bad Tier: Beast Boy, Cyborg Garbage Tier: Cinderblock Tier Ranking when used by the CPU: Elder God Tier: Robin, Mammoth God Tier: Jinx, Gizmo, Raven Middle Tier: Starfire Trash Tier: Plasmus, Cinderblock, Beast Boy, Cyborg Hypothetical PvP Tier Ranking: Top Tier: Robin, Jinx, Mammoth Viable Tier: Gizmo, Starfire Bad Tier: Beast Boy, Cyborg, Raven Instantly dies to projectiles tier: Plasmus Cinderblock Tier: Cinderblock
Dude, the fact that your went back and played this whole game on expert is FREAKING AMAZING!! It makes me feel like I really did something right with this video! I love your feedback and tiering of chars as well! I can solidly see why you put each character in their respective tiers and it all completely makes sense to me! You truly made my day!
@@DimzNoms You definitely did something right. I'm glad someone else has the passion for this forgotten game to go and do this! I'd really thought this was forgotten before specifically putting it into the youtube search bar. After finishing up, I played around some more with the bottom tiers and edited the tiers slightly in the other post - Cyborg and Beast Boy are really exceptionally awful with their slow projectiles and Cyborg's slow jab. As computers, computer Cyborg/BB can be beaten by almost any character jab spamming, even Cinderblock. Jab spamming is generally easier than consistently making projectile inputs, especially when Cyborg's terrible projectile input makes him walk forwards and his laser can't even hit Gizmo.
Never expected a tier list out of this game, but i welcome it lol! Ironic how Robin in the show is a close ragend blitzer for the most part, but in this game you can just spam projectiles at the opponent lol. Would have loved a move where he pulls out his bo staff tho.
I didn't know you could play as the villains! Maybe that wasn't out yet at the time I played it. I played it just before and just after they released Beast Boy
It be interesting if someone found the source code and just buff certain characters to make the roster balance. Cinderblock and Raven get a damage buff to make up for their extremely risky play-style, Cyborg has improved tracking, etc. Unfortunately that would probably be impossible to get, especially now that flash is dead.
Well there's only two keys (Z & X by default). The game is very old school and kinda jank. It requires QUICK and EXACT motions for your special moves to come out. Heck not even I had it work 100% of the time.
What I also don’t understand is how do people complete the game on Expert mode. I’ve tried playing as Robin a few times on expert can’t even beat Jinx. The best I can do is play Robin on the medium difficulty. I have beat the game there.
Dude you should put cinderblock in garbage teir like the dude cant jump and that holds him back alot the youre facing a player that just spams air attacks and youre playing as cinderblock theres nothing you can do you just have to wait until they go back on ground
This is the stupidest fucking tier list, I played this and some sort of armor spider mmo on kids WB back in the day and maybe digimon mmo? anyway love this video flashback.

Nah jinx was busted girl kept spamming that pink blast outta nowhere
