are you able to remove that lip that holds the safe up from sinking? like you said earlier, this really sticks out in smaller vehicles and I thought about removing that lip and mount it using some sort of brackets at the bottom and place where i would use my knee/calfs to hit the trigger instead of the thigh

You may be able to remove the lip, but you might have to do a lot of reenginering to get it to work lower down. There has to be room for the lever to push!

like the concept but looks like it could get in the way of gear shift or cup holders or be something that could make sitting there awkward or uncomfortable
