Thats more about the instrument. Some songs are meant to be played in some instruments and not others. This song in particular is not that good on guitar for example, but on piano? man oh man
This really captures the terror and wonder of suddenly finding yourself in an alien underground environment. I love the early Metroid music.
Thank you for taking me back 37 years to when I was 5. This has to be the cleanest and most pure of heart I've ever heard of this piece of history. Designing loudspeakers for a living for many years has paid off into bringing emotion back into music for me. ❤

I don't know what it is, but a lot of the music from the original Metroid and Super Metroid just sounds the absolute best on a piano. I do love a full orchestral arrangement for my game music, but there's something so complete and resonant when you play these themes on just one instrument such as this.

Piano allows for harmonies and inner voices to be heard more clearly than any other musical medium, which is why it's often really refreshing to hear familiar music on a piano.

For 8-bit games, piano translates very well due to the simplistic sounds used to compose the themes. For those that know my work, I don't say simplistic as a means of having poor sound, quite the opposite. There's a charm that 8-bit houses and I feel as though piano strikes that same chord (bad music joke.)
As always, Lara, very excellent piece. That octave shift at the end really sent it home. Seeing your music pop up in my subscription box always sends a smile on my face because I know that it will always be an excellent rendition. I hope to hear more work from you in the future. I might even do a request for you, if you ask me.

I adore 8-bit, there is a certain charm that I think comes about due to the technical limitations of the console. Sometimes the voice leading is 'clumsy', but I guess composers really had to make the most of each track. OOoo that sounds exciting!

There is something sinister in 8-bit music that can't be duplicated in most other music. Your interpretation of Kraid's theme on the piano recaptures that sinister effect that I hear in the lower depths of Brinstar. Excelllent work.

Oh yes, I remember, that generation. The classical and amazing music of Contra, Castlevania and Metroid. Such memories left a great influence on current video game music. Looks like the Japanese composers planted the seed for our times.
Yes, I remember, those days when Space Harrier and Gyruss played in our ears for the first time. Japan made a good strike on our creativity. I thank them even today, their pride, dedication and creativity behind Nintendo left us this legacy.
I'm glad that by Dummeh and this little sister here, Lara continue the tradition. They make a contribution to the theme. I'll wait patiently for an epic interpretation of Space Harrier. Andre Duracell made a great interpretation out of it.

***** I grew up at the perfect time for Metroid, but I just never got into it. Got stuck too much, when I was younger.
Neceros The (Super) Metroid box art just didn't appeal to me, so I never tried the games until around the time Metroid Fusion was released. The franchise's connections to the Alien series was a great hook at that point, and I'm a pretty huge fan now.

I used to play Kraids Lair on guitar back in the day. I couldn't play it as quite as fast as you though! this camera angle works very well! More pianists should use this angle! I'm going to check out Brinstar now!

The "Brinstar Depths" stage in Super Smash Bros. Melee does use the Kraid's Lair music, and Kraid shows up in the background every once in a while to spin the stage.
OrangeKyle91 well, Brinstar Depths an Kraid's Lair are the exact same place. Kraid's lair is just deeper into Brinstar, just like Ridley's Lair is just deeper into Norfair
