My aunt used to live in Iowa and she used to complain about all the snow melts and rain coming from Minnesota making floods down there well she ain’t complaining this year cause we didn’t get any snow.
Lol it’s rained like 5 inches every day in Iowa for the past month. When it’s not spewing tornados, it’s raining like it’s trying to give Noah a run for his money
I was at that very spot today, and the ramp is entirely under water with the river seeping into the parking lot by about fifteen feet. Without the sign you would not know the ramp to be there.
I think droughts have been happening for hundreds of years, although man has a lot to do with the most recent climate changes..we can do better as people,to accommodate nature in its ever changing evolutionary cycles..thx for watching and commenting!
@@SamboJones-vs1rh we do control water flow and depth of the river with spillways and dams, but the reservoir holding the water is also lower than I’ve ever seen it! @@cornfedexperience5178 Yes, The reservoirs are also running lower each year because we are using fresh water at rates faster than it can naturally replenish. Won't stop until people stop being exploited, mass birthed and used as expendable tools to fulfill "greater good" agendas of governments and the corporations they create and protect.
The reservoirs were originally made to reserve the supply of immediately available fresh water, so that nations/empires could build, build, and build. Never ending expansion and conquest. Now we are pumping nearly 2 quadrillions gallons of freshwater annually. To water hundreds of millions acres of farmland. To produce billions of tons of crop, To feed billions globally, along with billions of livestock(which also drink water and eat the crops). All so, that nearly half, can be thrown away and wasted, when nobody has enough government issued paper/digital credits, to purchase the product before the arbitrary expiration date, all set and "regulated" by governments.
I live in Des Moines area and we have a lakehouse in northwestern Minnesota and in September 2021 the lake was down a foot, then it didn’t snow much so the water stayed down and it has kept repeating the cycle and permanently dropping every year
As a fellow central Iowan. Its April. We have lots of showers coming. It will refill.
If it rains, they will come.
That ramp is completely under water now with the river seeping into the parking lot.
Should get an update video out because if it keeps raining we are going to flood soon.
Now's the time to extend that ramp!
As a Des Moines resident, it's been pretty wet lately, hopefully it stays that way.
Downgrade it from the DSM river to the the DSM creek.
No kidding.
All the rain we have gotten should have helped a little.
Osceola has been real quiet since this dropped.
Why is that?
My aunt used to live in Iowa and she used to complain about all the snow melts and rain coming from Minnesota making floods down there well she ain’t complaining this year cause we didn’t get any snow.
You can blame the reduced flow on the installation of the new rafting projects in down town Des Moines
Lol it’s rained like 5 inches every day in Iowa for the past month. When it’s not spewing tornados, it’s raining like it’s trying to give Noah a run for his money

I was just gonna say just give it a little time!
NOW the boat ramp is under water.
Yes it is!
@@cornfedexperience5178 Have you tried Corn Bred in Ames? The food is top notch, better than Smokey Ds. I love Smokey Ds btw.
@@Milkman3572000 no I haven’t..I’ll have to check it out
I have only been on the Des Moines river once.
Yeah that’s how it looked last summer also. Could it be possible that the river is moving away from the boat ramp?
I hate driving by the river now, makes me sad and worried. Never seen it like this
Wow. It was dry at ledges when I was there in August. Gotten way worse
It’s getting pretty bad..I’ve only seen it this low once before
@@cornfedexperience5178dang
Ledges is temporally closed because the water is very high. I went 2 days in a row and was told I can't drive thru, but I can walk thru
Its always dry at the ledges you have to time it right and look it up to have a good time there
Yeah thank god I rained a lot today there was even a tornado watch in west Des Moines
Oh hey I know this area! Went fishing near here but was a little heartbroken with how low the water was
This is stupid because they are letting less water flow due to the construction happening in and around the river
its looking better with the rains this week probably
More than enough for everyone here in Ireland. Wettest 8 months in history.
I was at that very spot today, and the ramp is entirely under water with the river seeping into the parking lot by about fifteen feet. Without the sign you would not know the ramp to be there.
that part of the entrance on really has around 8” of water most of the time though, but it is super low right now
Oh dang, I was fishing around that log last May.
The river comes up when snow melts or it rains up north.
Wow...... My Gma is in Fairfield
Now a kayak put in
Well it’s June now and it’s full from bank to bank. I’m 20 minutes from Des Moines
Hey I was just there couple weeks ago
Missouri River in Rulo NE is just about like that 🫠
We have been getting rain all day today so hopefully it will help a little..we need about two weeks of rain
Des Moines Gang 🥶
How long ago was that we are not anymore it can stop raining for a little bit

Bet that river is flowing over the banks this time of year.
I played baseball and have camped at yellow banks and even drove a tractor ride through. Never been down there by the river tho.
It’s a nice park.
I have the same problem no water ?????? I live in watervalley ?mississippi
You mean Enid is dry?
Update its flooding now
It sure is..way up in the parking lot
That ramp looks like its never seen water.
woah
Literally happens every year here in DSM? EVERY YEAR? The river is already filling up with all the rain we’ve had?
This boat ramp hasent been accessible for a couple yrs at least.
Its not dry in iowa. Check the dui roll call in the monday paper😂😂😂😂
It probably looks fine for now. We got the rain we desperately needed
I might need to go hit yellowbanks
The water came up a lot since we have gotten rain..I may make trip out there myself!
Wonder what it looks like now. Considering we just got piss pounded last night
I was also wondering the same thing..there’s some good fishing along that stretch of the river
Wow the river is nowhere near the water.
It’s terrible..I can walk across that stretch of river and never get my knees wet
Yeah that's old school
Thank the tech companies for using all the water to cool their quantum computers...
At least you don’t have to deal with boat traffic. Lol
What ramp is that?
Yellowbanks park,Des Moines river access

Welcome to channel! and as always..thx for watching
I think most of you are missing the point...

Yes it is man made. The federal and state government work together to control the water ways, dams built on them and man made lake reservoirs.

Mayflowers bring smallpox.
Sorry you're going throught the drought but it's been like that here in California for decades
As of right now all that is under water
It will be back with a vengeance. ⛈️🌊
I just moved out here in Des Moines
This happens every year lol it's not a very big river
Everything is cyclical. It will come back up
Except we've been in a technical drought for 8 years here in Iowa.
Ganna get a lot worse if the weather doesn't right its self. Not looking good at all
It’s been raining luckily
Id like to fish it that low.
If you can find the holes, there are big catfish in this stretch of the river
