- Our Blue Botswana Agates are finally polished after months of patience! I am SO happy with the results and I hope you are too! It can be hard to wait especially when you have such beautiful material to start with but it was so worth it! These agates are from the Rock Shed and the grit

Happy Hounding!
Thanks for skipping the intro. I wish most youtubers would do this. Great videos as well. I’ve learned a ton from you. 💕💕
That’s awesome! Glad I could help!
So much to admire here but I think the one at 7:15 is my favourite because you can get a 3D effect looking into that clear area at the bottom where you can see the depth of one of the rings/bands. Nicely done!
Yes so true! That one is fun to look at!
That’s my favorite too!
The mistress's masterpiece. You did a really great job of polishing and should be proud. Super, well done. Be happy, safe and stay healthy 😷⚒
Finally! Great job, they look fantastic! To answer your question on the ultrasonic cleaner…I only use mine for stage one done rocks and I mix in a tablespoon of borax with no heat for a half hour. There is no way I could use it any other way unless I had one much larger. I have 5 3lb barrels and 1 12lb barrel running stage one 24/7 365 days a year. As I pull stage one done rocks out they go into the cleaner. From there they get done in a UV-18 vibratory tumbler so there is no way I could use the ultrasonic with so many rocks. If it makes you feel any better I am still stage one tumbling some Inca agates started in September of 2022!
Oh that’s awesome good to know! Haha wow!! That is so long! I hope your rocks turn out awesome!
my favorite one is the almost fully black one with quartz
My rock's are done tumbling
Yay!
Nice job! The Rock Shed is awesome! I have ordered lots of rocks from them and all of my grit.
Well done, those looks fantastic. I know now that I need to be as patient as Agate Aerial
Haha well thank you!!
They turned out beautiful. I like borax in the tumbler.
Yes! I have really been liking the borax!
Thanks for the video. My friend just bought a tumbler from Harbor Freight. I hope she enjoys the process but watching your videos makes me positive that this is a hobby that i would NOT have the patience for. If i want a shiny rock, I will just go to my local gem and mineral store and buy a shiny rock. I will suggest she watch your videos though. Thanks again. Very informative, both pro and con.
I think the key would be to have multiple tumblers, and rocks in every stage, so you would be finishing something every couple of weeks.
Beautiful!
The agates turned out super nice. Thank you for sharing!
Superb shine! My favorite is 6:30. I do have an ultrasonic cleaner and if and when I do use it to get the polish out of the cracks I use a tiny bit of Dawn dish soap, 1/2 teaspoon maybe. I'm very impressed. I'm glad I stuck around to see the finale.
Oh awesome I’ll have to try that next time! Glad you stuck around too! 😊
6:38 my favo❤
They are all great I got mine at the Rock shop also!
Beautiful!! I want to try to polish those as well when I get better. I have rock envy!
I keep ceramic media for each grit separate. I also use separate tumblers.
Yes that is really best practice!
Awesome, Ariel!!! Love how they turned out!
Thanks Tammy! I was pretty excited with the results!
Amazing Gorgeous
Right! I was so impressed!
Those rocks look amazing!
Thank you!! Such a long tumble but so worth it!
Great job!!!
Thank you Ivan!
Great job! Well done 👍🏻 ❤
Thank you! 😊
Those agates are amazing.
Thank you!
Cool hobby
All of the big pebbles are perfect. Hopefully I can do half as well, great work 👍 💚
You can do it-and thank you!!
All of them are GORGEOUS!!
How can I possibly pick one for my favorite. Time well spent on them. ✌️💚🥰😃
Thank you!! It definitely was worth the wait!!
Awesome job!!!! Love your channel. Keep up the good work ❤️
Thank you so much!
I've actually collected rocks for around 20+ years. I have thousands lol. I'm going to purchase my first tumbler in a couple of months. Watching you and listening to your tips is very helpful. You're passionate about your hobby, it's beautiful to see and inspiring. You have a good thing and I appreciate your hard work. Thank you. God's blessings, much love and lite ❤️🕊️❤️
Great job! No other agates compare to Botswana agates! 😊❤😊
They are so beautiful!!
I am pretty blown away, those look great. I wonder if teeth would make a good tumbling medium? Not that I have any, just asking for a friend.
Bro actually you might be a genius. My friend and I were half joking that she would probably collect the teeth from every one of her friends and make a necklace out of them to assert dominance (and because why not, we were messing around), but now it seems like an actual stylish possibility 😳
Haha oh man! I have never thought about that before! I have no idea 🤣
@@AgateAriel Probably one of those things not worth finding out lol
#BEAUTIFUL
Thank you!!
I enjoy Borax in the tumbler. No ultrasonic cleaner. And I did some Cerium Oxide after stage 4. And toothbrush works to clean the barrels lip just water. Awesome mug
I have heard about cerium oxide! I might have to try it!
You should really buy a batch of Mexican Lace Agate from the Rock Shed, they are amazing!
Yes it’s definitely on the list!! 🙌
You take pride in your work 😎 I love that ocean look stone with the gray bands and also one of the other ones. It's hard to identify those rocks
Right!! I need to start naming them or something 🤣
@@AgateAriel You've referred to a couple of rocks as shist I believe. Shist stones are pretty. I love the blue ones! Stone cutting and polishing is a craft.
Absolutely gorgeous rocks Ariel!! I have to say that as we tumble we each develop our own ideas and thresholds for rock aesthetics.
Some ( as you have) spring for more tech and lovingly bring out the best in your lovelies.
I loved every minute of watching you bring out the stunning designs in your botswanas!
Me? Not going to buy an ultrasonic cleaner just yet.
I've also held off on the Lot O tumbler though I sort of wish instead of buying so many more tumblers ( I have 6) I should have just sprung for the 300.00 and got it.
We all know it is on the horizon. I have tumbled a few botswanas and have simply not been as impressed.
Took too long, I lost too much in the grinding in terms of pattern and size.
I love YOUR beauties but have resisted tumbling a complete batch myself because I lost a gorgeous one covered in eyes.
Actually, lost is NOT the right word since I still have it. It is a lot smaller..most of the eyes were ground away. I seem to even lost more size and eyes in the polish!
What are your favorite rocks to tumble?
Mine are NOT Botswanas. Too much time/work and I think I actually GRIEVED my results.
I also got mine from the rockshed.
Notice I asked what are your favorites to TUMBLE?
That is because my two or 3 most favorite rocks are faced and polished Turkish agates, Crazy Lace agates and agatized coral. But I need a flat lap to polish the sliced surfaces. I also love horn coral , Petoskey stones and puddingstones.
My favorites to tumble bar NONE are Mexican Crazy lace agates and petrified wood..Madagascar petrified wood to be specific.
I get lost in the details!!🤣🤣🤣
Thanks so much for you comment! Yes the botswanas took so long and I am glad that for most I did not lose too much size or banding/eyes! I have yet to try crazy lace agate but definitely is on the list and many have said the same! My favorite to tumble is chert, jasper, and some Lake Superior agates! I do like to keep a lot of my Lake Superior agates raw though-they are just so beautiful!
gorgeous botswana agate! you did a great job! 👍 wondering what you will tumble next!🙂
Thank you!! I think I may try some Labordorite. I have heard it can be challenging though!
Yes, I've heard that they can be tricky. They need a lot of cushioning!! Good luck!
I'm giving up woodworking to hunt rocks.
I just found your channel the other day and I'm loving it ❤ what do you do with the rocks when you've finished? X
Great question! I have a video about it on my channel! But mainly keep them locked away to look at them 😅 I’m hoping to start creating art or jewelry though!
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! I'm new to all of this. Do you sell any of your rocks and/or is there a market for them? Thanks.
I don’t yet but I’m hoping to!
@@AgateAriel Best of luck selling them. I think you could make some good money!
They turned out amazing, nice work. But you glossed over the most important part...where can I get one of those cool Agate Ariel coffee mugs?
Haha you rock! Links are down below! 😊🙌
I use borax, I think it works really well!! These are really beautiful, well done!! Please tumble the labradorite next! Hard to pick a favorite, they’re all so beautiful!
Yes!!! I am really excited to do the labradorite! I have heard it’s difficult though!!
@@AgateAriel It’s a tough one! I struggle with that one they are soft. My tip to you is tumble them with similar rocks and good luck 👍
Those have come out so amazing!!!!
I think so too!
My ultrasonic cleaner works great for hard to clean shaping rocks especially the hard to remove polish residue. I use dish soap or simple green. I honestly want to try borax in it coming up on my next cleaning. But honestly it works so good I night skip the burnish stage to see what happens.
Oh perfect! I will have to try the dish soap and simple green!
@@AgateAriel I use one or the other as I’m not sure if mixing them is ok but separately they work great. I love watching your videos it’s nice to see someone as passionate about rocks as I am
Beautiful rock! Looks like stage 1 could had been tumbled longer to remove pit marks etc...great video though. 😎
Haha I almost did it longer but they had already been in stage 1 for 8 weeks (changing grit each week) and I was over it 🤣
@@AgateAriel ha!😉
Curious if you hit them with a clear coat paint over them if it makes them pop even more
Maybe! I would worry that may cause streaks and air bubbles though!
Hey, can you show me one of those rocks?
Where did you get the new strainer? I need a new one 😂
Amazon! Linked in my Storefront 😊
agate candy, yummy
Haha right 🤣
Can you send me one of those rocks?
