Constellations - Ked Adams

This is a piece for piano I premiered at Manhattan School of Music on April 26th, 2024. I composed this piece after Thomas Adès, whose rhythmic language motivated new ideas in my compositions. This is an also an experiment with pitch, as I normally compose in just intonation. Composing for an equal-tempered instrument was difficult for me, but I found expression within gesture rather than microscopic harmonic analysis. Enjoy this composition and look forward to more soon!
