I am always frustrated and worried about freebie culture. In my state they made almost no electricity bills, electricity is almost free for several months now when the electricity board of my state was in a huge debt even before state govt. Launched such an absurd scheme to just win the election. And how much the debt on board Increased now no body knows. And other political parties are also promising same things that if they came in power they will give free electricity. It will surely impact the board employees, retired employees pensions and also there will be reduction in govt. Jobs in electricity deptt. Of my state. Reason govt. might not have money to do so. So I can see doom for electricity board of my state because of this freebie culture.

अगर सरकार कुछ फ्री दे रही है तो पूछे की इस योजना पर कितना पैसा खर्च किया जा रहा है इसके लिए पैसा कहा से आ रहा है आपके राज्य या देश पर कुल कितना कर्ज है।

The worst freebie is caste based reservation system in educational institutions and government jobs. India will never never develop by inferior people. Merit must be the only criteria for any selection.
EC should use its power and audit the manifesto and through media widely publicise the audit report. This will help voters to know which party is telling the truth and stands for national development and which parties through freebies trying to fool people. This could be first step and many such similar steps can be taken.
